Introduction

This project was planned to assess published literature review papers and examines the need and effect of workplace policy on nurses and patient
Although most people think they can get away with picking an easy topic for their senior projects it turns out to be a little more complex than that. Growing up my ideas and passions would always seem to be changing but when I finally became set in my ways at least in knowing what I would like to pursue the Nursing Program was up to par. I chose to do mine on Nursing in the ED (emergency department) because this is a field I would love to go into so I can be of service to those in need of any medical care, to always have a stable job to rely on, and further more to be able to excel in the field of medicine. I would love to be one of the people on call to respond to the needs of another individual in their time of need. Anyone could only
The facility my change project has potential impact upon is a teaching hospital which is known for promoting, supporting, and encouraging clinical research and implementing latest evidence-based practice. Erlanger serves as the region's only academic teaching hospital and strives to employ healthcare professionals who are knowledgeable in the latest skill, technique, and evidence based practice (EBP) (Erlanger Health System, 2017). This serves as both a strength and opportunity for the facility. A major strength for the hospital is the support that is has for research and implementation of all change processes. In 2013 the Institute for Clinical Research (EICR), was developed to solidify unity of two objectives, providing patients’ access
Every health professional has a legal obligation to patients. Nurses as part of the health care team share an important role in the quality and safe delivery of patient care. They have the major responsibility for the development, implementation and continuous practice of policies and procedures of an organisation. It is therefore essential that every organization offer unwavering encouragement and resources to support their staff to perform their duty of care in every patient. On the other hand, high incidences of risk in the health care settings have created great concerns for healthcare organizations. Not only they have effects on patients, but also they project threat to the socioeconomic status. For this reason, it is expected that all health care professionals will engage with all elements of risk management to ensure quality and safe patient delivery. This paper will critically discuss three (3) episodes of care from the case study Health Care Complaints Commission [HCCC] v Jarrett [2013] Nursing and Midwifery Professional Standards Committee of New South Wales [NSWNMPSC] 3 in relation to Registered Nurse’s [RN] role as a leader in the health care team, application of clinical risk management [CRM] in health care domains, accountability in relation to clinical governance [CG], quality improvement and change management practices and the importance of continuing professional development in preparation for transition to the role of RN.
Conducting an interview with someone makes you see things in many different perspectives and in a new light. The person I interviewed saw nursing as a broader term that saw things in a different way even though she has just started. She knows that special people need to take roles in being a nurse. I interviewed my aunt, Ann Juknevicius. She is 30 years old and she has been a nurse for 2 years in Illinois now. Relatively she is a new nurse. One of the main reasons why I started the nursing program is because I look up to Annie a lot and she showed me so many different perspectives on how to look at people, different situations, and the way you handle things. I thought that it would be a great interview session to see if Annie’s expectations were the same as the nursing reality.

Nursing is constantly evolving and adapting to the current population, and with the elderly population increasing exponentially, nurses are inevitably affected by these changes. The baby boomers are getting older, changing healthcare as they go. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, those who are ages 65 and older are expected to increase 17% by 2020. By the recent demographics shift, nursing practice is affected as there becomes a greater need for nurses to be able to guide those who suffer with multiple chronic conditions, specialize in geriatrics, and also care for the mental health of the elderly.
As the school year comes to an end, many high school careers with it, there's a lot of decisions that seniors have to think about. In order to better prepare themselves for life, many of the students and Gary High School have been doing research on both jobs and education. There are many things to consider when preparing for the future such as what to study during college and for the rest of your life. One particular student says that she would like to be a nurse, but she would have to endure many years of schooling and a rather large amount of clinical hours. This research paper outlines everything that would have to be done in order to secure someone's future as a registered nurse.
As the healthcare system continuous to change, more and more nurses are choosing to take on the advocacy role. Nurses are working to apply new health care policies in their workplace and come face to face with issues associated with patient safety and satisfaction, access to services, clinical outcome and health disparities. In order to create changes in my workplace the advocacy strategies which I will utilize are analyzing the need for changes and then create a shared
The national league for nurses defines critical thinking in the nursing process as “a discipline specific, reflective reasoning process that guides a nurse in generating, implementing, and evaluating approaches for dealing with client care and professional concerns” (Kozier, 2008). This definition is imperative to help a nursing student learn how to think in terms of nursing care. Nursing students must achieve a comprehensive understanding of critical thinking in order to understand the nursing process. The purpose for this paper is for nursing students to learn how to use the nursing process, how to properly document their findings and assessments, and correctly implement APA formatting in a formal paper.
The project implemented at Meridian Healthcare System is a comprehensive residency program that supports new graduate registered nurses (NGRN) as they enter the nursing profession. It is a program that assists in providing nurses with the right competencies to enhance the quality of healthcare services and improve safety. These competencies include patient-centered care; evidence-based practice, collaboration and teamwork, quality improvements, and safety, as well as informatics (Letourneau and Fater, 2015). According to Trepanier, Early, Ulrich, & Cherry (2012), “new graduate registered nurses (NGRNs) face many challenges,
As N412L: Capstone Nursing Practicum comes to a close, I can reflect on my clinical experiences in this course and my progress towards meeting my defined behavioral objectives. At the beginning of this course, I set goals for myself, of which I planned to accomplish by the time this term came to a close. These objectives included: effective communication of the patient’s care summary in SBAR format, safe and efficient administration of intravenous medications, successful performance of tracheostomy care, and accurate physical assessment and patient monitoring. While I still have much to learn as I step into the role of a graduate nurse, I have accomplished my behavioral objectives for this semester.
This essay is a discussion about my experience during the first two weeks of my clinical placement in an older adult ward. My experiences will be demonstrated using the various nursing skills acquired thus far. The reflective account used is adopted from the work of Driscoll (2007) which splits the essay into three segments namely a) what happened, b) so what, (what were my feelings, what was good and what was wrong about the experience, c) now what, (if I find myself in that same situation what would I do differently).
Initially, I would like to express gratitude my supervisor Anup for all his important support and guidance throughout the year. His advice and academic experience was a huge help to me.
I sincerely express my gratitude to all who have helped me in the completion of my CAPSTONE PROJECT. Firstly, I express my profound gratitude to the Almighty God and our management for giving me the opportunity to do my capstone project at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa).
