A lot of people wonder if the American dream is alive or how to obtain the American dream but the real question is why we give up on our dreams and how do television stars and entrepreneurs. Oprah Winfrey a talk show host, actress, producer and philanthropist; a household name famously known for The Oprah Winfrey Show which was the highest-rated program on television. As of 2015 Oprah is the only known African American Billionaire in North America but her life wasn’t always glamorous. Now you ask yourself how Bob turn his life around. At the age of 12 Bob began drinking and at the age of 17 started taking drugs. After graduating high school he went to the military where he was kicked out after 6 months, diagnosed as sociopath. After being kicked out of the military Bob became addicted to methamphetamine and eventually homeless. With his .357 Magnum Bob committed countless armed robberies and forgeries to pay for his addictions. When he found out that the cops were searching for him, he fled the state and got a job cleaning mortar off bricks. A couple weeks after getting his job, Bob got drunk and was in a head on collision that nearly killed him. While recovering Bob decided to read the Bible to try and disprove it but instead he fell in love with Jesus and turned his life around. Bob quit drugs and got the worst job at Glidden Paint Company, knowing he did not have a good resume he realized to get ahead he needed to think smarter. eventually worked his way up to management level where he learned enough to start his own company. Bob started Wildlife Artist Supply Co which turned into a multimillion dollar company and since he has founded 11 companies and they’ve all been successful. Oprah was sent to live with her grandmother in Kosciusko, Mississippi with her parents, Vernita and Vernon. When Oprah was 6 years old she moved in with her mother in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Oprah’s life was very troubled, even at a young age. When she was 9 years old her cousin sexually abused her. Afterwards she was taken out for ice cream to insure that she wouldn't tell anyone.
