In 1980, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) took an interest in organic farming, publishing a report titled Report and Recommendations on Organic Farming. As organic foods have been growing rapidly in the last 20 years there has been a lot of talking about whether or not organic foods are healthy. As people today have been eating a lot more of organic foods they are having arguments stating that organic food is not what they say on the labels. Although people think that organic food is not what the farmers say it is, it still helps people with their health and provides a healthier lifestyle. Based on many studies that is the case. Organic foods are preserved through a lot of different procedures.

According to Chhabra’s article it agrees with the fact organic food is good for you anf makes you healthier by stating “Organic farming aims to preserve soil and ecosystem health by forgoing heavy use of artificial fertilizers and pesticides. In addition to these potential beneficial effects on the environment, consumers are attracted to organic foodstuff because of the claimed positive health effects, presumably due to the absence of pesticides or artificial hormones.” . There can be a proposition found in that article that organic farming can be used to help people with there health issues. It also talks about in Chhabra’s article that it helps with curing the development of cancer. By having organic foods possibly help with not letting cancer destroy your life’s wouldn’t you want to have those foods in your body. There have been a lot of reason why organic foods have been good for our bodies. There aren’t that many negative things to be presented about organic foods.

There are a lot of arguments for the other side of my argument. Many people believe that organic foods are way to expensive and aren’t doing what people say they do.
