"What would you do without me?" Snake blanches, even though Otacon is far too inebriated to notice much more than a few inches in front of him. Hal's drunk, he knows that. Yeah, sure, he's buzzed as well, but Hal is less than half his weight and a hell of a lightweight at that. It always happens this way whenever one of them brings alcohol to whatever dingy place they're holed up in at the moment. Otacon thinks he can handle more alcohol than he actually can, says strange things and Dave has to carry him to bed. It's nothing out of the ordinary, really. As far as strange things go, it's not the strangest, but Snake has to admit it caught him incredibly off guard. Sometimes, they do have heart-to-hearts and it's nice, but while …show more content…
It wouldn't be the same, Hal." Letting himself speak what he truly feels is usually as hard as picking water up off of the floor with your hands, but his feelings and his thoughts are safe with Otacon and he knows it. His life has been safe with Otacon. And then the man in front of him is crying, and before he can even open his mouth to apologize, bony arms are around him and his stupid, horrible heart throbs in his chest and his fingers twitch with the urge, no, the need to use his arms for something other than holding and reloading a gun, something other than CQC and choking the life out of someone. He hugs Hal back, and David can feel the heartbeat pounding through the thin T-shirt, and it's comforting and maybe before Otacon he'd only been annoyed by hugs, but his tipsy mind is allowing him to freely enjoy an embrace and bury his head in Hal's shoulder. And for a brief moment, he's done being Solid Snake. Right now, he's David and he has emotions and it's okay. Affection is okay and feelings are okay and the alcohol is starting to hit him but that doesn't matter. His life won't ever be anywhere close to perfect and neither will he, but maybe holding Hal and being close to someone is worth the …show more content…
xx When morning comes and for the first time in as long as he can remember, Snake wakes up to an empty bed. He feels a slight twinge of panic, before realizing there's a piece of paper on the bed. Otacon's recognizable handwriting is scrawled on the paper, and David has to strain to read it, but he huffs out a laugh when he does. Went to the store to get Advil for this terrible headache because I'm not a super-soldier with the highest alcohol tolerance in existence. Be back soon. P.S: I'd be fucked without you,
Commentary #2: snake knows its power but holds back; doesn't want to fight but signals that it will defend itself if necessary.
In the short story “Poison” by Roald Dahl, Harry Pope is laying in his bed while a Krait, which is a poisonous snake, crawls onto his stomach. When Harry’s buddy, Timber, gets home, Harry expresses concern for the snake, explaining how he hasn’t moved for hours in fear of being bit. Timber couldn’t see the snake because it was under the covers, but he trusted Harry’s word. So, the two of them began to think of different ways
She notes that he doesn’t quite maintain his poker face as his lip just barely quirks up at one corner. She’s not sure if it’s her delivery, the subject, or if there is some underlying attraction. She silently curses him for being so difficult to read, while acknowledging that she’s enjoying the puzzle he presents. He recovers immediately, were she not watching him so intently she might think he hadn’t heard her at all.
One of the main threats to the Eastern Hog-nosed snake is the lack of public awareness regarding their fascinating behaviour and their habitat requirements. In many places in Ontario, the destruction of suitable habitat is cause for concern. These snakes are completely harmless, but their bizarre defence technique can be confused with a dangerous display. When threatened, hog-nosed snakes will rear their head, flatten their neck to look like a cobra, and hiss loudly. If this display is not effective, the snake will harmlessly strike at the intruder with its mouth closed. The Eastern Hog-nosed snake has developed these techniques that resemble venomous snake activity as a defence mechanism to ward off predators. As a last resort the snake will
“They’re love letters,” she says again pulling out a pencil that’s seen better days regardless of how well the graphite still writes. Turning one of the battered pieces of papers over, she begins to print words in her block letters that he’s come to know so well. Cursive is a thing of history to those born just before and after the blackout.
What would you do if you had your religion you believed in your entire life suddenly change. That’s what the people of egypt are facing right now. Recently or pharaoh Amenhotep ,now more formally known as Akhenaten, has changed our our religion. I open my eyes and the soldiers look like there frozen in time the bullets are suspended in the air. But simultaneously I can hear their bones crack blood pouring out of every possible hole in their bodies. Time starts again the General looks at me and says,
Although there were a few creatures at Seirin the most that Kuroko could count was four and the basketball team was the one that managed to snatch up all of them.
Akhenaten was now dead, making his son, Tut, a boy king. Tut was sad about his father’s assassination but he must guide his people. He married to ankhesenamun, Nefertiti's daughter. Then one day around the age of 19, he saw a army coming right towards his land. He worried of how many people they had against his own, he charged anyway. He could not tell who the attackers were but he knew for sure, he must win for his people.
Robin said “Hmm, the only venomous snakes around here that I know of are rattlers and they almost always rattle before they strike. Let me catch that snake to see what bit you. In the meantime, keep the bitten area below your heart and move slowly if at all.”
However, the snake starts to turn scary. For example he winded himself around the prince's ankle and said “ whomever I touch, I send back to the Earth from whence he came.” The snake was really speaking in riddles. What he was really saying was that the Earth is where man came from. When he dies he is put back into Earth, so what the snake was really saying is that he could bite the prince and that would take him back from where he came from. (Just like in the Torah the snake started out as nice and friendly but ended up that he was sly and evil. Same thing happened
He sneaks a glance at Miller's face and he's watching Ocelot as intently as he can, breath catching when the Russian rakes his fingernails over his nipples, capturing his lower lip with his own teeth.
Using the images of otoliths and the data you gave me during my last visit to BGS, I made some graphs in order to identify cracks and holes in the laser path.
Ophelia flips to the next page, fingertips lingering on the previous golden brown one, the old tome heavy in her hands. She leans against him, back against the railing, arm lying near his feet, the book cushioned in her lap.
She planted her heels into the ground as Cade attempted to perform Nova's stunt. She had tried kicking and swatting at her, but it wasn't of any use for someone who had just ran and swam almost a kilometer, as well as practically carrying someone for the other half of the trip.
