o prioritize school and be successful in my classes, I need to overcome my personal obstacle. I must learn how to manage my time wisely, dedicating the necessary amount of time at the end of a long work day to become active in the classes’ participation, and get done all my school assignments. I will work on managing my time even more as I continue in school. I will be using my planner and calendar and I will be organizing my time and prioritizing my assignments I will get done the more complex assignments first in this way I will not feel overwhelmed at the end of the week. Prioritizing effectively help me become a more efficient student, that is why, I would decide first to make a to do list. Second, I will keep organize my tasks into different
Throughout a person's life, they are faced with different obstacles, and different challenges of all different types. My life in particular has been full of up and downs used to be related especially towards my social/high school life.Everybody has goals and dreams they set for themselves, but they don't always try to achieve them. People might try to, but they sometimes will have obstacles in their way, stopping them. The only thing to do is overcome the obstacles. I have many obstacles I have to overcome and accomplish in order to achieve this dream. My first obstacle will be to do well in my classes at my highschool and after graduation, apply to college. I know l have to study and work extremely hard to accomplish this goal. Since there
Reflecting on all the times in my life that I have had to overcome obstacles there is a long list of mishaps, lessons learned and many other adventures. The top one of the list is going through US Navy boot camp, which consisted of basically being torn down and built back up. In short you are told that the way you have always learned things from as early age is the wrong way and there is only one way the Navy way.
There are many roadblocks to successful time management. Three of the biggest time squeezers are family, work, and school. Managing all these things actually begins with prioritizing. You must first focus on getting organized. You can make your life a lot easier by defining where and when everything is. As a result, you will avoid becoming overwhelmed.
Former first lady Abigail Adams once said, “the habits of a vigorous mind are formed in contending with difficulties” (Billmeyer, 2009, p. 115). The number of adults pursuing a college degree is constantly increasing with each passing year. Unlike younger college students fresh out of high school, adult learners are not only trying adjust to going back to school, but they must learn to balance their studies with other responsibilities in their lives such as their family and jobs. Knowing how to manage time wisely is an intricate tool for an adult attending college. Some helpful tips include prioritizing, planning ahead, making to-do lists, and avoiding procrastination.
Prioritize my daily activities so that my study time does not end up being the last thing I do each day. I understand that my daily activities can vary based on family needs, appointments, social needs, etc. however, I still have to devote some time in the morning or afternoon to do some study and/or class work. For instance, on the worksheet above, I ran errands on Monday between 11am and 2pm. I believe that I will be more efficient in my academics if I moved my errand time to later in the day (if possible) and then study first before taking care of chores that can wait. My study time should be in the top category of my to-do
I need to prioritize my activities throughout the day in order to achieve optimal results. It is best to set aside some time each day, preferably at the same time and in the same place, to work on my coursework (Bethel University, 2014). It’s recommended that we dedicate 8-10 hours a week for our online studies (Bethel University, 2014).
THE well one more obstacle i became over was to become good at wrestling and i actually started practicing and my coach believe me and one my last tournament i got second place in my tournament and they were all proud of me How i overcame my obstacles was i just kept doing what i needed to do to become successful and i didn't do it by myself i had many people to help me friends family and sometimes people that i don't know and i just never stopped when i was tired or was done with it but people showed me that never give up on your dreams and i just thought of what the prize at the end of the road would give me and it gave me stuff that will help me in life Well one obstacle was that i had to bring up some of my grades and if any of my friends
Fortunately, during my time in undergrad I learned how to time manage well. I learned what I could ask of myself and what I could realistically get done. During undergrad I balanced school, work, home, club involvement and social involvement. During that time, I learned how to say no to things I couldn’t take on and how to effectively plan my time by importance. So far that experience has helped me tremendously with the start of veterinary school. I knew coming into veterinary school that it would take up a lot of my time and I was able to prioritize from that. I manage task efficiently by looking ahead slightly and prioritizing what tasks need to be done first. My ultimate goal is to be prepared at least a day before a task is due. This may
Sweating, feet shaking and heart racing. Looking around in fear not wanting to be called on. Paralyzed with fear of been asked to do simple tasks such as reading or talking. As children we all have fears, weaknesses, as well as obstacles. My biggest obstacle was not so big. Coming from a different country, every single day showing up at school not knowing anyone or knowing the language, becoming a complete stranger, an outcast. A ghost among the world, wondering without knowing a single thing about this bizarre, unfamiliar place. Homework i couldn't understand or even be able to read. Seen my parents working hard to find a place to live and not been able to help me because just as well we came from a different place, almost seemed like a
It’s another sunny, beautiful day at Gilbert Classical Academy. As I walk to class, I hear snippets of conversation, like “That Latin homework was so hard,” or, “I can’t wait for Social Studies.” I walk into class, and soon have homework, and in the next class, more homework. Stress starts to set in. Soon I begin to think of everything I must do after my 11+ hour school day.GCA makes my day so busy. I already have to practice piano, and sweep the pool. However, I think of some tips I’ve heard before. Tips about about time management.
In Academic Success class this semester, I have studied many beneficial topics, but the most significant topic is “Using Time Wisely” (“College Success” p. 17). Actually, beneficially using time is quite essential skill that students need in order to achieve a success in academic live. In fact, I find this skill very helpful for me, and I really feel the different because I didn’t have this skill when I was in my country Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately, I was missing the ability to manage my time when I was studying my bachelor degree, and I encountered many challenges such as overwhelming, procrastinating, and depressing and that due to using time unwisely. Unconsciously, I have learned some techniques that assist me to manage my time partially,
Based on the time management activity we have done in class, I learned that activities that I want to take up a majority of time spent awake rather than activities I need/have to do. I realized that I need to learn how to prioritize my time so that I can incorporate tasks I need to do. The activities I want to do include math team for 2 hours after school, which leads me to go home late and have less time to do the activities I need to do. According to the time management activity, I spend 30 minutes on social media when I get home from school then I work on my homework and chores. Going on social media is a problem that I need to improve on because it takes away my time from sleep, chores, and homework. This is important because sleep, chores,
I am a determined woman paying for my fresh start out of pocket by working full time and attending school to become a RN. Always being independent and working hard from a young age helping to support my single parent household. The obstacles I overcame by being low income, helping my father recoup after having several surgeries, and health problems, plus my health problems. Yet, I have kept my grades up, having nearly perfect attendance in work and school my whole life.
How I manage time is a reflection of what I value. Managing my time corresponds to how successful I will be in college and throughout life. Knowing and setting priorities to meet goals, carrying out plans, taking control of time, and staying focused are some events that are involved with time management. For many of us, balancing school with work and family is the greatest challenge involved with prioritizing. Good advance planning will help in meeting these challenges. Staying focused is usually difficult, especially for first-year students. Staying focused entails remembering and dedicating to the most important purpose for being in college. Sacrificing unnecessary commitments and keeping my
