What did this portion in the Parshah teach me? It taught me wherever you are, whether alone or with hundreds of people, you must have principles to follow. When the Israelites left Egypt they were not organized. Before having time to do so, while still in the desert, they were being attacked by other populaces. Before also having time to get organized through their own fundamental principles, they had to invest in defending themselves and the first action that they took was to create an army.
This reminds me of wars throughout history and today, but why do we fight? Verbal fights can happen in a household when not everyone agrees on a same topic and physical ones could be between two countries because violence is usually the first action

Problem: Many people do not have the same opinions. If someone doesn’t agree with someone it could result in violence whether it’s physical or verbal. People grow up and learn different views on life based on what they see from adults and peers.
Looking back, I’m able to realize how petty my response to the incident was, but at the time, I felt it was justified. Unfortunately, I continued to hold my friend accountable for what he said to me, long after my anger had subsided, and we didn’t really speak much for nearly a year. After about a year of holding this grudge against my friend, we both made up with each other, but I still regret not having made up with him sooner, as the grudge was petty and could have been resolved easily.

Second, I have also learned the importance of the ‘forgive and forget’ mentality. Having practice every day, it is easy to get on each others nerves. However, it is important to realize that every day is a new day. Before coming to a conclusion, it is crucial to listen to both sides and also take emotions into consideration.
When women were fighting for their rights, they approached the situation in multiple different ways. They were all connected with the same desire to get their rights and get a say in who ran the country that they lived in. Women throughout the History of the United States faced many challenges. Women were not seen as equals in the eyes of men. One reason is because men seen them to be weak. Imagine, you didn’t have the right to vote, to get your own money, or to get a good education just because you weren’t a specific gender or color ? What would you do about it ? They thought they should be treated like men because they could do the same things as men could do or even better. Women, normally viewed as the weaker gender, deserve equal rights for all of the hard work that they do to support their own families. While men were out doing their jobs and getting paid for them, the women were forced to stay at home to complete more difficult jobs that they were not gaining pay for. Staying at home to do all of the cooking and cleaning took a lot more effort out of the women than sitting behind a desk all day did for the men.
