Parent/Teacher Interview Examining the Three Developmental Milestones Involvement and Theories during Their Child’s Growth Background of Interview I had the opportunity to interview a person who has a good understanding of the developmental milestones that my fiancé faced during her childhood. My fiancé’s mom used to work in a school setting as a middle school teacher during her early years. Based off of this statement, I know that my client was perfect for this interview. My client has a twenty-three years old daughter, who is about to turn twenty-four on March 18. During my interview with the client, we talked about her child’s early years. She said she was the easiest baby to take care of. She did not get into trouble like her older brother. She was quiet and very energetic in a good way. My client also added that her child was smart when it comes to the physical development. For example, she was walking without assists when she was almost eight months and a half, which most children start walking around nine to twelve months. My client knew from that moment that she will be smarter than her older brother. We kind of both laugh at that statement because we had a good understanding of her brother who is often clumsy. From this we went on and talk about Freud’s Stage of Psychosexual Development. My client had a very clear understanding of Freud’s developmental stages. I ask my client if she notices any problems when it comes to any of Freud’s stages. She said the only stage where her child had trouble with was the oral stage because she sucks on her thumb, which caused her to have a little of an over-bit. From that I ask her how you fixed the problem. She replied by saying to me that she went to the dentist and got a retainer to put in her mouth to make her stop sucking her thumb. The client then said it took about five months for her child to stop using the
During my parent interview many of the parents had a different idea of what was stimulating for their child. All the parents, however, realized the importance of stimulating their child during play especially as an infant. The parent’s children ranged from six months to 5 years old (Derryberry, Boster, & Lashae, 2015). This also shows that the parent can have varying opinion based on what their child needs in that particular developmental period. All the parents were extremely concerned with what the child was getting out of play. They also agreed anything educational always was better than what the child in question may want. I think that especially come into play for toddlers, because they are trying to interact with the environment even in stores.
Children and young people should feel happy, safe, respected and included in the school or early years setting environment and all staff should be proactive in promoting positive behavior in the classroom, playground and the wider community. Policies and practice which make sure the safety and wellbeing of children should already be in place and it is this legislation develop through many years and experiences, and mistakes, that underpin the working practices that are used today.
I chose to interview three family members in order to evaluate similarities and differences on experiences on what it’s like to be a parent. I believe that there is no right or wrong way to define what family is, but the definition of family comes with a wide range of beliefs about parenting and what it means to be “good parents” to their children. Every person is different and when it comes to every parent, they have their own style of parenting due to the environments as well as experiences within their environment. Throughout the interviews, I hope to gain knowledge and to be able to understand what it’s like to be a full time parent. Therefore, I have completed three interviews with three separate members of my family that were all raised by the same parents in the same household so it would be interesting to get an insight of how each individuals perspective as parents are. Furthermore, I will present a summary of questions that I’ve asked, a summary of their answers as well as an analysis of their way of parenting with some information that I’ve gathered and compare it to what I’ve learned in class.

For the purpose of his paper and to protect the adolescent privacy lets call her Regina. Regina is a fourteen-year-old adolescent female of Africa American descent. She is above average in height and carries a very shy and nonchalance deposition. She is a very attractive young lady and does above average work in her school setting. She appears to be a normal every day child with a lifetime of experiences awaiting her.

Each stage involves the satisfaction of a libidinal desire and can later play a role in adult personality. If a child does not successfully complete a stage, Freud suggested that he or she would develop a fixation that would later influence adult personality and behavior.

Being a parent comes with a lot of responsibility and difficult decision making. You always have your child's best interest at heart, but sometimes your child may disagree with the rules you have set down. That is why, I believe, the perfect parenting style is democratic. You can compromise with your child, but still have basic rules you want them to follow, without them feeling targeted or that you are being unfair. When i become a parent, I want to make sure my children have guidelines. I want them to be able to make their own mistakes and learn from them. Their health, their type of entertainment and the toys they play with are three major, broad categories that I would like to have a say in, along with their input of course.
