In order to protect both humans and animals, the park rangers ensure tourists understand and follow the necessary safety precautions. To prevent animals from invading campgrounds, it is advised that campers store their food at least 5 metres above the ground, where animals cannot access it. It is of paramount importance that campers dispose of any rubbish in the bear-proof bins provided in the camp. Food odours attract bears and must be kept away from the camp. Although extremely rare, attacks have occurred, inflicting serious injury and death. If you do come into contact with dangerous wildlife, park rangers recommend the following actions: If you see a bear, stay at least 45 metres away from it. If a bear approaches you, you mustn’t play
The Texas Rangers (69-62) try and take the series at Petco Park and face the San Diego Padres (64-68) in the final game of this three game series. This is a huge game for the Rangers because they are headed into an off day tomorrow. If they win, they go into the off day feeling good. They lose, and they have to sit on it for a full day before hitting the field on Friday. The Rangers will turn to Cole Hamels (2-1, 3.89 ERA) and the San Diego Padres will counter with Ian Kennedy (8-12, 3.94 ERA).
The Texas Rangers (52-53) will resume their three games series with the Houston Astros (60-47) on Tuesday evening in Arlington, hoping to build off their win last night . Jeff Banister will turn to previous staff ace Yovani Gallardo (7-9, 3.39 ERA) and the Houston Astros will counter with 26-year-old Dan Straily (0-0, 5.06 ERA). Fox Sports Southwest will broadcast the game live locally, and MLB.tv subscribers can watch worldwide on connected devices.
Before last night's struggle in Detroit, the Texas Rangers had won 7 of 8 games since finishing off a series in Minnesota against the fellow Wild Card Contending Twins with a victory. That stretch of games, including a sweep of the also relevant Tampa Bay Rays, has catapulted the Rangers back into not only the American League Wild Card race, but the club now finds itself within actual reach of the A.L. West Division title.
The Texas Rangers (2-3) 2015 campaign comes to a stunning close, as the Toronto Blue Jays (3-2) win one of the craziest baseball games you will ever see. This game had just about everything you could possibly imagine, with the game being played under protest by the Blue Jays, trash being thrown on the field, benches clearing, and that’s just the start. Aaron Sanchez (1-0 3.46 ERA) got the win for the Blue Jays, and Cole Hamels (0-1 2.70 ERA) was the hard luck and undeserving loser for the Rangers.
During this history class extra credit opportunity tour to River Bend State Park I fell like I learned a lot of very interesting information on not only American history, but also Seminole History. I also learned the methods that have been utilized in hopes of preserving the park in its natural state. It is well known that it will not be possible to get the park to be an exact replication of the way it was when the wars were taken place, because the park changed before and after those events, and we do not know the exact changes to make today. But nonetheless, the park is as close to as it was back then as it needs to be, and I thought that it was an amazing thing to be in such a well preserved meaningful location. I had no idea that the Seminoles were such a big factor in American history as well as the fact that they were the only Indian group to never surrender. The wars upon the Seminoles were not necessary, and America should not have taken everything from them, or killed so many of them. The Seminoles could have been a huge advantage towards America if we would have accepted them and learned their tracking skills, war tactics, and healthy living habits, rather than stealing from them and killing them.
Yosemite National Park is a beautiful park that is just hours away from San Francisco and has some of the best hiking and scenic areas found in our National Parks. Camping at Yosemite can be a challenge though. All of the campsites within Yosemite are on a reservation system that fills up in seconds after the dates are opened. Seriously! If you know you want to camp within the park, please plan way ahead of time to secure a spot. When making a reservation make sure you are signing up for an RV or a tent space. If you are tent camping, know that you will have to park a little bit away and carry your gear in as there is no space for you to park next to your tenting spot. Yosemite camping can get
Would the beautiful state parks that we have today still exist if the Civilian Conservation Corps never happened? Well, that is up for debate, but nobody can argue that they didn’t do a lot of work. The Civilian Conservation Corps or CCC was launched twenty-nine days after Franklin Delano Roosevelt took office. The CCC members did anything from planting trees to building trails that you can see at state and national parks.
Welcome to the first week of Rangers Report, where I will take a look at some of the past performances by players in the past week, and do a quick little recap on how the past week has gone for the team.
Funny thing about camping in Yosemite for years with my family. Every time we invited a family to camp with us, they all responded while sitting around the camp fire, with the same statement. "There are no bears in Yosemite"! Some how in their own minds they seemed to think their statement would keep them away. Or they wanted reassurance from us there weren't any. We have had several encounters with them in our camp, but the Rangers have mostly contained them. Trouble is, what Yosemite are you talking about? Yosemite Valley where most of the camping is, or Yosemite National Park.
Thank for considering for employment for the Park Ranger (Interpretation) at Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park. Working in Japan over the last two years elevated my communication skills. Answering questions and thereon rephrasing the explanation because of their limited vocabulary; this gave me knowledge of how to transfer information to individuals of different language abilities. Teaching a wide range of students reinforced countless instructional techniques which were assimilated at Oxford seminars. Not only have I mastered numerous techniques, I have come up with my style of teaching.
Yosemite National Park, is a beautiful piece of nature it is a 195 mile nature getaway from the urban life that is lived San Francisco, CA and 315 miles away from the fast pace and overwhelming life that is lived in Los Angeles CA. This place is like no other in the beauty of its nature. The park is “747,956 acres, and is the home to hundreds of wildlife species and thousands of Yosemite plants” (U.S. Nat. Park Service). Yosemite is known for so many beautiful features, from its granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams, giant sequoia groves and biological diversity. And also for its two rivers which are the Tuolumne and Merced rivers. These rivers begin in the park and flow as far as west to the
One of the largest campgrounds at Yosemite is Upper Pines Campground with 238 sites. It is also located close to Curry Village which has a huge convenience store, a camping store, and a few restaurants plus medical help if needed. Upper Pines is where the majority of people with children like to camp since it is so close to all the amenities. There is a nice canopy of trees and people out on their bikes or out for a hike with their families.
Park Rangers are known throughout their profession for a number of roles. One of those roles is providing tours to the visitors who come to the park. Many parks have guided tours where tour guides are in fact the park’s park rangers. These tours may focus on historical facts, natural setting factors and park visitation. During these tours, the park rangers will lecture and may show short films as well to give visitors a better overview of how the park works and information regarding the historical surroundings.
Please accept my application for the Park Ranger position with the Aurora Open Space and Natural Resources division. Based on my experience in natural resource management, community engagement, administrative work, and public safety, I believe that I am an excellent fit for this position.
The park ranger's job is a very interesting but, involves many possible tasks. Park rangers are mainly responsible to protect the parks and wildlife around us. Their work place is in the wilderness but also in city parks, historical sites, nature preserves and recreation areas. Park rangers offer a wealth of knowledge to tourist, campers, large groups. They prepare exhibits and information over the park sites, make conservation programs, and lead tours and nature walks for the visitors. Rangers are also involved in helping to conserve the lands they protect, including studying wildlife behavior and monitoring air and water quality to determine if the ecosystem is in good shape. In massive National parks, rangers may search for lost travelers, rescue stranded mountain climbers, supervise fire-fighting crews and tend to injured park guests. Rangers
