Peaceful resistance and civil disobedience are acts that can shape a nation. These acts are used to peacefully protest laws or recent events that were unjust or proper justice was not given. Sometimes these acts are required in order for a change to be made to an unjust law or event. Often times these acts can be seen as bad or violent, but they aren't. As long as they are peaceful, these acts are not bad. Peaceful acts of protest invoke thoughtful consideration of the event or law the protest is calling attention to. In the end, civil disobedience and peaceful resistance can positively impact the nation in which they are being demonstrated in.

That is the most important part. Her disobedience was necessary in order to get the Jim Crow laws abolished. Without her bravery and the bravery of many other African American citizens the Jim Crow laws would still be in effect today. Walmart had their biggest act of civil disobedience no more than a few years ago. Walmart workers sat in the parking lot peacefully protesting their wages. The workers wanted to earn at least a $25,000 a year salary. What they were earning then as their salary was not substantial enough to support themselves or their families. Police arrived and ordered them to move. When they did not they were arrested. These workers did nothing wrong. They were not wrong to peacefully protest for a higher wage in order to allow them to afford the basic necessities in life. Another current protest that is intended to be a peaceful protest is the Black Lives Matter movement. Whether this movement is necessary or not is a controversy. Despite the controversy, it is an example of civil disobedience. If goes as the movement hopes, the number of black civilians the police shoot will lessen.
