Peaceful Resistance Impact On Society

In my opinion I believe that peaceful resistance is a positive impact on our society. If you look at the many marches we have had in recent years, such as the woman's march held a little over a week again as well as all the recent protests involving this years election, you can see Americans expressing their opinions and beliefs for all to see.
Equality, an idea we have always encouraged but not always practiced as a people. This is usually a main force behind marches and protests. When Dr. Martin Luther King marched into Birmingham he and his fellow people marched with this idea the land of the free equality is something everyone should and can strive and fight for. The woman's march that occurred just recently is a prime example of this strive for equality. My friends, peers, celebrities, and many more took to the streets in order to ask for equality and understanding between the sexes. Something that has always been asked for but have not received great things from since the write to vote. Freedom of speech, a first piece of the first amendment, is put into action. Anger, frustration, hurt, and fear become bundled up within a group of people and the take to the streets, sometimes in the form of protests on the block others in the form of boycotts or letters to ones representative, anyway for the people to express their feelings about a certain topic, this is another major cause of civil disobedience.
