I feel I should be selected to be a peer leader because it would be a great experience to work with first year students. Being a first year student myself you need to know that you are going through this transition alone and if you need a little guides that it’s always someone around to help you. At NCSU, I am apart of SAY which is a living learning village that travel to two locate elementary school each week to mentor young kids. Been in the SAY program can be beneficial to the organization because I have previously experience on how to mentor students and I have also learning that not all students respond the same way so you need to know how to adapt to different people.
I believe that I would make a great Peer Support leader because I believe I am approachable, kind and willing to help anyone in need. I believe that I have the right combination of skills and experience to help not only the Year 7’s but the rest of the school community.
When it comes to leadership the mores experience you have, the high chance of success the team has. National Honors Society is a brilliant program, in which it allows students to take part in programs that have a positive impact on the community. This would help me in the future because with the ability to be a leader I can see what works and what does not. Also with the lessons I learn about leadership I will be able to use it in my future career field. With the experience of being a leader, I can further my career by planning events with museums and exhibits.
I’m most interested in becoming a peer leader mainly because of my integration at Lynn. When I came to Lynn I came in for soccer and I didn't really branch out much, but through the first forty and resident hall activities I really branched out to meet new friends. I want to be able to give incoming freshman this same experience and allow them to enjoy their college experience with supportive friends by their side. I truly believe I'm qualified for this position in many ways. I have a fun, bubbly, and energetic personality. I redshirted for two sports this year and I never let it bring me down, I always brought positive vibes and joy everywhere I could. I’ve also always had a passion for people as well, I
For example, varieties of colleges and jobs like to see the different activities I was a part of during high school. Also, being on student leadership would help me with job interviews, class discussions, and planning. As of now, I am a leader at Whitford Middle School, and that makes me feel proud of myself to be able to lead the school in such a positive way. In High School, there are even more opportunities in Student leadership than there are in Student council which will hopefully expand my ability to lead. Also, I have always been interested in leadership because I like to take charge of responsibilities and am always on top of my academics. During middle school, leadership has been a great way for me to get more involved with the school and help out in the best way I can. Leadership has already taught me so much, as well as helping me as an individual. I hope to learn more qualities of being a leader and become an overall better person if I get the chance to be on Student leadership at
I am interested in being a peer leader because I want to be able to help ninth graders see that high school is not an intimidating place. Most ninth graders are intimidated by high school because it a new environment- their future experiences there are uncertain. By sharing with them the reality of how high school works and giving them a more accurate representation of their experiences and relationships with teachers, I hope to lessen their fear of high
Peer led groups focus on connecting people with a shared experience or goal. Individuals work together to provide support and knowledge through their own experiences. Like any group, peer led support groups can be personal and stressful so my question is this; how do peer-led support groups function when emotions become high and raw? Group setting can be stressful when working with different personalities and opinions, so what steps can be taken to see to an effective outcome? Every group has a different purpose. Some groups are put together to create a final outcome whereas peer led groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, where the group purpose is sobriety and higher power, are put together to create an ongoing support system.
I would like to be in the Peer Leadership program because I want to obtain the skills necessary to be an effective leader. This summer I will be a counselor in training at Fairview Lake, so I believe that this Peer Leadership Program will fulfill and help finish my goal to strive to be a good leader and role model. In addition, I want to be one of the Peer Leaders who will serve to be a positive influence on students all around Summit. If I am a peer leader, knowing that kids will want to look up to me will help improve my impulse control. I tend to do things without thinking and I am continuing to improve this. One of the three qualities that make me a good role model is I care unconditionally for people because I along many others can relate to those who
Goal Two: Find staff who are providing exceptional care to patients and publicly recognizing one person per week by placing a note on the staff bulletin board stating who was “Caught Being AWESOME!”.
I would like to serve as a peer leader because I truly understand the struggle of being a new student. The perspective I have gained while developing from being someone with no Jewish day school background to feeling like every other member of the community is something I find very special. The unique development that I experienced is something I owe to the welcoming and sincere peer leaders that helped guide me during the nerve-wracking transition phase. As a result of my experience, I want to give incoming 9th-grade students the same open arms that I received early on. Furthermore, Schechter Westchester has drastically changed my perspective on the world and taught me values that have helped
I am sending a peer evaluation form, and I would like to ask you to keep the information for yourself. Some people will not understand certain things if you try to talk to them about our work, and I really don't want to have problems with anybody, as I will have to work with them for the next two semesters. I wouldn't probably even fill out the form if it's not required because I'm emotionally drained and tired of some people from my group's behaviors. However, I do understand that some of them have experienced serious problems, and that might have caused their difficulties with either organization or timely work.
I would like to be chosen to go to leadership academy, so that I can help our unit achieve high standards and be recognized as an outstanding NJROTC. The reason you should send me to leadership academy is this, I will help the unit succeed as a team by making sure that people in leadership positions take charge and do what is right. Being a leader is what everybody wants to do, but you cannot become one without training to prepare the path.
Throughout my younger years, my mom worked weekends so I would stay at my aunt and uncle’s house. The weekend is an opportune time for homeowners to do various maintenance, so my position became my uncle’s little helper. I was the world’s most curious helper, always asking “What’s that?”, Why are you doing that?”, “How’d you do that?” and, my uncle’s favorite, “What are we going to do next?”. Since that time I’ve lost(and thankfully grew back) some teeth, gained some years and height but I kept the curious, helpful, and task oriented personality. Unfortunately, I can’t be my uncle’s helper forever so now my task is to find a fulfilling path.
The Death Penalty in the United States has existed in the since colonial times. Since then, there have been tens of thousands of people who have been legally executed for their crimes against man. “Capital punishment” comes from colonial times when during the process of execution the executioner would cut off the person's head, that is where they got “capital.” In Delaware the death penalty was repealed just last year in 2016. After the recent problems caused for the Law Enforcement such as the prison riot at James T. Vaughn correctional center where there was an 18 hour hostage situation and Sergeant Floyd was murdered. Also, when CPL. Stephen Ballard was killed in the morning at a wawa in Bear Delaware the decision was made after
When taking the two leadership surveys, it was interesting to see my personal leadership profile. My leadership style according to the survey is the instructional type, which in another world is direct leadership. My culture, upbringing, and work environment have transformed me to be direct leaders that are looking for stability. My staff members sadly do not have the opportunity to have a job that is autonomy; working in a manufacturing occupation, one has an organize agenda that cannot be deviated from the task ahead. When team members are needing help or trying to build the familiarity to run their equipment my personal leadership profile can be helpful, since being direct is a starting point to build knowledge. The more one individual shows knowledge, familiar, and passionate for their own results, the further laissez-faire I will become when proving they
We have teens in our community that are thinking about or already doing drugs or cigars. One way to fix this is to make a teen center so teens aren’t provoked to take drugs or smoke. They’ll have activities such as art, music, and physical health. They can drive to the center and pay for a year or month to participate. They can head over after school and do their homework with the help of tutors that understood the subject that they’re struggling in. Therefore, they can be sure of finishing homework and can do an activity of their choice after.
