The personal accomplishment I am grateful for is finding my own solution to attend and afford college. In order to achieve this, I had to change my Visa status and start a small self-employed business with my parents. After researching a profitable business that would require little start-up money, we settled on a cleaning business. I had to learn how to acquire permits, start a Limited Liability Company, and change our Visa statuses. During the early stages of the business, my parents mostly worked upwards of 12 hours a day, while I raised my then four year-old sister. A few nights a week, I left my sister with my boyfriend, now husband, to go clean buildings. When I wasn’t physically cleaning the accounts, I caught up with the email correspondents
Our team practice everyday for 2 hours and our record was 23-1. We were the first team ever to win in our age division to ever win for St.Mary’s. We had a hard time in the beginning of the season. One of our best players injured her knee. She was running towards the loose ball and her knee twisted. She was out for the rest of the season. Looking back on it made me better because I learned how hard you to to practice or try to achieve your goal.
When assigned my first essay, “My Greatest Accomplishment,” I took time to brainstorm different ideas that defined me. The accomplishment that stood out the most to me was qualifying for State Track in four events on a sprained ankle. While writing this essay, I felt like a baby learning how to walk. My writing was unsteady and I took a few tumbles trying to get the paragraphs to flow. This reminded me of trying to run on my sprained ankle at the State-qualifying meet. However, like I finished the paper, I finished my events with qualifying times. I knew the essay would prove difficult, but I grew hopeful while writing because I knew I had numerous
As a black male who grew up in a low-income family in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and recently immigrated to the US, I am confident that I will significantly contribute to the diversity and education of the University of Colorado School of Medicine community. Through my unique perspectives, community awareness, and personal resilience I know that I will be a positive attribute the CUSOM and the communities it serves.
I am well prepared for the rigors of university studies. I have participated in the dual enrollment program at Eastern Florida State College since I was in the 10th grade. I set a goal to finish high school not only my Associates in Arts degree, but complete all my engineering common core prerequisites as well. Participating in duel enrollment was an excellent opportunity; at the same time, setting the bar high posed numerous challenges.
Studying in the U.S. and being a student of Portland State University is my most outstanding accomplishment to date. I always had a dream to study abroad and it became true when I moved to the U.S. three years ago. I enrolled at Portland Community College in Fall term 2013. Although it was difficult to adapt to a different culture and school system, I have been successful in my studies. Out of the seven terms at Portland Community College, I have earned a place on the Presidents' List four times in a row, twice on the Deans' List and once on the Honors' List. I transferred to PSU in Fall 2016 and continue to be a good student. While at PSU, I was accepted to an internship which will start in Spring 2017. The main strengths that help me be successful
My most significant accomplishment would have to be maintaining who I am, and keeping my grades up through the tests of life. Even though it is a broad topic, seeing as there are so many things that life throws at each of us, it really is a big deal to me. Staying true to myself through everything is one of my biggest goals in life, and I am happy to say that I have managed to do that so far. One thing I have learned through all of this is that it takes a lot to really become who you want to be, and you have to be very understanding of what makes others the way they are.
Money can’t be the determining factor for happiness (Kinicki & Williams, 2016). Therefore, what is meaningful determines what true happiness is. I came to that conclusion, having worked for state government over twenty years. Resigning in 2003, I decided to return in 2010. The department manager told me at the interview how overqualified I was, but they needed me. He stated, “I am sure you understand that you’re not going to become rich by working for the state”. “Yes, I am aware, I replied. For me, it is about learning and serving others.” Genuine accomplishment is identifying our tangible, distinct significances and, to the best of our abilities, being aware of them now so that we don’t wait on a fairytale to manifest later (Clark, 2014 p9).
Aside from personal accomplishments, two of my greatest accomplishments regarding my craft as a writer would have to be the following:
My answer to the question, what will be regarded as my major accomplishments is, that I have been earning A’s in all classes in school for as long as I can remember. Good grades are something to take pride in. I feel like my accomplishments are something to be proud of. I say this because A’s don’t come easy. So in the end when I look back and think about what I have achieved I think about how different people might think about me. In addition in my previous travel season of softball (around 75 games), I had one strikeout. That is a pretty challenging and amazing feat to pull off, and I was very excited at the end of the season when I found that out. My coaches and teammates respect me more now.
A personal accomplishment that reflects my ability to succeed at Penn State is making varsity cheerleading my senior year of high school. Some people don’t count cheerleading as a sport because they think that all we do is stand there on the sidelines and look “pretty”, but they don’t know what it takes to be a cheerleader. I got into cheerleading my sophomore year of highschool because some of my friends were trying out and I thought it’d be a nice reason to hang out with my friends after school. After the first week of cheer I fell in love with every aspect of the sport. People don’t understand the teamwork and trust needed to do stunts. As a flyer, I must not be afraid to try new things and also to always trust my bases to always catch
Even though my transcript does not show stellar grades, it does show improvement. I started off at Mcnair Academic with confusion regarding time management and study skills. As the marking periods went by, I was able to reflect where I went at fault and tried to improve. I learned the importance of planning my day and the importance of time. Thus, even though i did not start off as strong as i hoped, i was able to improve throughout the years. Therefore, my transcript does reflect my accomplishments but not my current academic ability. If I was able to go back in time, with the knowledge I know now of study habits, I would have a great transcript.
An accomplishment is something you achieve. To accomplish anything that you can be proud of you have to work hard for it. If you don’t work hard you will not accomplish anything. Receiving honor roll during third quarter my sophomore year was my greatest accomplishment. During third quarter I made a goal that I would work harder to get better grades.
I have always loved challenging myself and I thrive under the stress that is put on me from my rigorous schoolwork. In order to further challenge myself at school I decided to take as many advanced placement and honors courses as I could, but I still felt like I would be wasting some of my time on easy classes because I would eventually run out of higher level courses to take. In order to resolve this problem I decided to graduate a year early from high school and accomplishing this meant taking extra classes each semester. My senior year I did not take the easy course load, but instead took even more advanced placement classes, a dual enrollment class, and honors classes. I will be proud of this accomplishment because I know that I have challenged
Out of any accomplishment or achievement I’ve received, the most fulfilling and rewarding moment in my life was steering a fellow teammate with failing grades who was on the verge of not passing her sophomore year away from the path of failure and onto the path of success. A month before the semester ended she was brought into my life barely hanging onto the falling grades she had. We had a month to get her through an LLC class, get her grades up in the other 6 classes she was taking, and turn her life around. With many hours put in at lunch, before school, during my own classes, and countless nights after school, we got her homework done, her LLC finished and understood, and she was back onto the path for success. This is something I will
the best essentialness of objective achievement is that it offering some help with staying focused to perform what must be for. It acts like a controlling wheel that moves along the right heading. Center is the key. Objective accomplishment shuffle an individual stay focused on the goal in life history. By objective accomplishment, one can moreover endeavor without interrogative in that tries are fittingly channelized and the Synonyms/Hyponyms (Ordered by Estimated Frequency) of noun asset are not squandered overseeing immaterial squanders of prison term, as an understudy having an arrangement of objectives they can accomplish what they needed to
