Since I was a child I have always enjoyed a wide variety of music. This would include: Queen, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Boy George, Journey, Cyndi Lauper, Clint Black, Blake Shelton, Matt Maher, Hill Song, Beatles, Elvis, Bach and Beethoven to name a few. For me music fills the soul and creates so many emotions and memories that are so vividly represented it feels as if the event just happened. My interests in music vary widely within most genres. When I was about five or six my parents bought me a keyboard and I took keyboard lessons for a couple of years. Although, I think I was a little too young and the instructor smoked like a chimney so I did not continue with the lessons. I still have that keyboard and still remember a little
Listening to the lyrics of your favorite song you automatically start to have a connection with that song. Then the song starts to represent you and your life because of the lyrics. Some songs show about being a fighter, having freedom, or just being you. There's a billion of songs out there and there's a billion of people who connect with those songs. Usually the most common reason why some songs represent people is by their past experience. For me some songs represent me because I decided to follow my dreams, living in the moment, and get right back up.
With means to express oneself, helps one overcome the difficulties of life. This approach represents the entire nature of the hip hop culture, especially when dealing with social justice issues. Today, the hip hop culture association revolves around raps (lyrics) and the rappers which reflect how consumers receive messages about social justice issues. Unlike breaking and graffiti, the music/lyrics penetrate society more. However, for this analysis, the focus will rely on a visual element with a connection to hip hop music. Even though a music video would make sense as a visual means of expression, this analysis has more interest in the cover art that goes with a hip hop album. Also, this focus will lead to the question of how important is art
Music has a big impact on my life, it is one of my favorite things in the world. My music library is so diverse, so it is hard for me to pick my favorite genre, from hip hop to rock to country. I find it all tasteful. If I had to say may favorite though it would be alternative rock, mostly because my favorite band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their bass lines are amazing, and their music has so much heart and emotion in it, it’s something that everyone can jam along to. My least favorite would have to be screamo, an off shoot of metal. It is just too angry and you cannot understand anything the singer is saying, it isn’t something that is easy for me to appreciate. The Hobbit is my favorite book, the ore behind it keeps me interested and the way it is written is a completely different style than today’s writing. The writing style almost seems archaic but it has an elegance to it that is extremely difficult to achieve.
The Musical Composition that has changed my life to how I see music is the song The Stroke from Billy Squier. I did not really know the meaning of the song, but it really Widened my Horizon in terms of music from only before listening to The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and The Monkeys. Then later being able to listen to Rush, AC/DC, Aerosmith And Other Really good rock bands that I still love today. Then I started collecting Records then I started collecting CDs, the first album I bought for myself is the majestic Black Sabbath Album “Paranoid” The album with the musical compositions Paranoid, Iron Man, War Pigs/Luke’s Wall, Planet Caravan, Rat Salad, Electric Funeral, And Fairies Wear Boots. This album was such an amazing introduction to Black
Music is my life when I was little my dad introduced me to all types of music. We listen to hip-hop, reggae, old school, country, and jazz. We believe that as long as it has a good beat and a message that what makes that a great song.Being that my dad is from New Jersey I have this Northern flavor to my lifestyle. It is truly present in my taste in music. Many people say that I'm a little weird when they listen to the type of music I listen too.
The one thing about music though that really captures my interest is the fact that it can provoke and produce so many emotions in someone. As someone who has a rather hard time expressing themselves, music was something I could turn to in order to understand and better
By the sixth grade, I knew that I was going to be a musician - I wanted to leave others with the same sense of wonder that music left with me. While my parents urged to me explore other options in high school, I couldn’t find the thrill that I felt from music in AP Statistics or British literature. Though I was dedicated to my music, I knew that becoming a rock star wasn’t the most realistic plan for my future, so I decided to pursue a backup degree in music production. I would dedicate my time to the band, but learn to record, mix, and master in my free time, so that if my band never made it big, I could still be involved with music. I found myself at a two-year community college trying to save as much money as possible while buying time
I have never held anything against violin players. The sweet sorrow of coarse horse hairs vibrating tight metal strings is literal music to my ears, and anyone with command over a sound like that is my friend any day. But somehow learning that instrument is beyond me.
Musical instruments have played many major roles in helping with the construction of many societies around the world today. Many people do not realize what musical instruments have been responsible for and how they have helped shape the world today. There have been many instruments that have helped create and sculpt the world, but one instrument that I want to inform readers about is the trumpet and where it came from, as well as how it has changed over many years. The point that I am arguing is the fact that many people do not know where the trumpet has come from and how it has affected society.
I come from a diverse family, so the music is grew up with varied greatly. Having listened to nearly every major genre, I was able to develop an appreciation for the music that differs from others.
The beautiful sound of piano music has captured the hearts of people since the early eighteenth century. Since then, many musicians have dedicated their lives to this instrument. Some players even play piano so well that it may seem that this instrument is easy to play. However, to be able to play the piano well isn’t easy; it takes a lot of skill. To become a good piano player, one must love music very much, have good finger techniques, and body flexibility.
Music has always been a very important part of my life. Through music I have been able to learn more about myself than I ever thought possible. My taste in music has changed exponentially over the years and I have curated my current music library to fit who I am today and who I would like to be tomorrow. The music that I have picked reflects who I am in many ways and reflects the different aspects of my life. These songs showcase the way I view my life, myself, and my dreams. This is a mixtape of five songs that I have carefully selected to represent who I am, where I am, who I love, who I was, and where I want to be.
So, the Element of culture that I find myself the most passionate about is Music. I say music because music I found in every culture. Music is what I believe in being part of human. There are literally hundreds different types of genres of music people listen to and millions of songs to listen to. A little about me, I personally find myself listen to rap music and old Rhythm and Blues. I come for a strong African American background family, where we have family get together, cookouts and just being close to your family. Most of the R&B songs tell a story. They talk about the black culture in good and also in bad ways. The R&B music I find myself listen to is more from my parent’s time. The music back during my parent’s child hood is a lot different than music today. One Major different is music back then had people playing the real instruments and sounds. I hear lectures from people from my parents’ generation how music today is terrible compared to their upcoming music. I personally feel music just changes because it adapts to people’s lifestyle and what they are going through. The Music Industry have always been dominant in society. If you think about every generation can remember listen to their favorite song growing up, and music can sometimes tell you all about yourself.
Music, it's a part of everyone's life. From childhood sing-a-long songs, to garage grunge music, and everything in between music is everywhere. Growing up with an extremely musical background it was in my genes that I would become a musician. Playing music has helped me become the person I am by being a release for my anger, broadening my future and make new friends..
I was raised around many types of music, and I have heard many different songs. However, there is one music group that I have listened to off and on for a very long time. This group is Blue October, and I have listened to them since I was six years old when my mother first introduced me. The music from Blue October is ever changing and has been linear to my ever changing life. I love the music that they make because it is real and alive. I look for sincear songs; Blue October meets this expectation that I have.
