When I was younger, my passion was riding and horses. I became interested in horses after my mom took me to the stable to see her friend’s horse. Soon after that, I started riding lesson in that particular stable, at the time I was around seven years old. It was not long after beginner’s course that I had to quit, because the distance between the stable and my home was quite long, and my parents did not have time to take me there. After a while we found a stable near my father’s house and I started to go there almost every time I visited him which happened on weekends. I have ridden in multiple stables all over Finland through my life, there are so many places that I cannot even count all of them. All the stables have brought my life new horses,
I began horseback riding at age four, and my equestrian pursuits have not only shaped who I am as an individual, but have kept me grounded. Working as a groom to afford riding lessons instilled a work ethic within me that has contributed tremendously to my academic successes. Rescuing a horse at a young age, and caring for him no matter the circumstance, has given me a strong sense of commitment that translates to all avenues of my life. Besides shaping my character, being entirely responsible for my horse throughout college urged me to find a productive balance in my life. Learning to make time for hobbies and other activities outside of academics has greatly improved my overall well-being, and is a lesson that will be invaluable as I pursue
Some people think of them as animals. Some people think of them as objects. Some people think of them as friends. Then there are the few who think of them as family. Horses have always been like family to humans, except sometimes closer. There are many benefits to owning or being around horses. They come in many different colors. There is a multitude of breeds, also. Additionally, they have a long history with humans. Horses have unique behaviors. Showing horses has been the past-time or even career of many people. Furthermore, caring for horses can be a handful, but is definitely rewarding. Finally, riding horses is not just a hobby or a sport, but an action of your heart. Horses are wondrous creatures that have lived with man or
I believe that true equestrians are a special kind of people, they look out for each other and really want the best for each other. As I look back on the many people that have helped and guided me over the years, I too want to do that for the equestrians in my life now. I strive to be a positive, motivated rider who is always there to help. I think having the privilege of caring for my own horses has taught me a lot about responsibility.
This year I got over my fear of horses. For my fifteenth birthday my aunt got me four weeks of horseback riding lessons. My lesson horses name was Skyjet. At first I was terrified of the horse and how big it was, but really it was one of the smallest ones there. I learned how to groom the horse on put all the gear on it. I learned how to 5-star which is when you go into a squat forward leaning position and stay like that, I learned how to post which is kind of like doing squats but instead of going down you are going up, also how to get the horse to trot and stop. To trot you say trot on kick the horse's side until it does. To stop you pull the reigns to you and release when they stop.
I got really close to a horse called Stretch, he was the sweetest horse that I have ever met. He was very tall and was a dark brown color with a black main and a white diamond shape on his forehead and had a white nose that felt like velvet. He always know what you wanted form him, he had such a calming effect, that all you wanted to do was hug him. Watching him galloping was something els, it was majestic, the way the sun was sining on his coat, and how his main and tail would stream behind him like ribbons in the wind. It was like he was soaring through the sky. He was the best at dealing with disabled children, he made them feel safe during their riding
Equestrian riding is a fun, exciting, and relaxing activity. You may be wondering how it can be both exciting and relaxing, but once you give it a try, you'll see. There is something simply amazing about being on the back of a horse. It makes you feel confident, content, and free. I have loved this feeling for more than a quarter of a century. This is why I started Chelsfield Riding Stables. I wanted to help others learn to experience equestrian riding. As you will see on my website at http://www.chelsfieldridingstable.com/index.html. I give lessons to both children and adults.
When I ride, I feel free, confident, and happy. I would ride almost every day, I enjoyed the sweat horse smell. I could not get enough of it. I would go home and tell my parents how much I loved riding. I told them how much I loved Lucie and how I wish I could be with her twenty four seven. I would even ask my parents repeatedly to skip school and go riding because I learned so much from my horse. Lucie became my best friend, not one person on Earth could compare to her. There is a saying “ horses aren't my whole life… they make my life whole.” The quote could not fit how I feel about horses any
It was in a very small arena with 4 or sometimes even 5 other girls. Then after 3 and a half years of riding, I went to my first show and participated in 2 classes, both with 8 people. I got last, in both classes, and most of those people had only been riding for a year or even less. After riding for 4 years I missed a couple of months so we started to look for a new barn. I only rode once a week at that barn. My mom then suggested that we look for a new barn. So we searched and found one less than 10 minutes from my house. It was perfect, but it was a different style of riding. When I started at the new barn I was amazed at how organized it was. At this barn I got involved and learned a ton of new stuff. I eventually joined their Pony Club. As I went up in ability and level I absolutely loved it. Then after a year of riding there I leased my first horse during the summer, so I rode 3 times a week. In that little time I progressed so much. But then school started up again. I got busy and could no longer ride two times a week and once on the weekend. I then had to stop leasing and go back to riding once a
I started riding on the safest horse ever, his name was Tyler. He was so gentle and a great horse to begin on, I even rode him later on. But I was early on in that barn I had my fourth grade birthday party there and it was enjoyable and you learned a little more about the horses. I rode lesson horses for years and it was fun, but I really wanted my own horse so I could be able to love on him and spoil him rotten. It got to around Christmas of my 7th grade when I was able to start leasing a horse. We started leasing Harvey and I rode him for a little bit and even had my first show on him. We started looking to lease a new horse who I could ride and while we were looking the owner then sold Harvey to someone… After a little bit, our trainer showed us Mirific a wonderful mare. I rode her the first time and wasn’t feeling much for her. However, the second time I rode her with a bareback pad instead of a saddle and I bonded with her. For only riding her about a week or so I did my first show on her. I rode her for about two years and she was amazing and a great horse to of ridden during those
My surdings zobed past me and me horse speedy as we trotted by them. But we did not ruly about anything when we are out side and riding together. We had the greatest bod of horse and rider at the stable that my father own and I helped him run the place since I know the place like it was the back of my hand. it was 25 acres just fields and a coble show rings when we hold shows and coptins at fairs, acople of race tracks for pefisonls and for the riders that rude at the stable to prates raching riding and a couple of rings for the lesson that me and my father oferd to riders and a barn that was the size of a medium size house. Everyone who seen it rode at it or ust to ride at the stable said are stable were the biggest riding stable in this
Back in 2008 I was a normal five year old, throwing fits and crying over nothing. My sister loved horses as much as I loved trains. We had friends that owned several horses that they showed. My sister wanted to get into that kind of activity so they coached her. I always stayed home until one day I went.
I grew up on my family’s century dairy farm. However, I only knew it after it become a retired dairy, but my family quickly replaced the cows with horses, beef cattle, chickens, cats, and two dogs. Growing up I knew I was a lucky kid to have my own pony and eventually a horse. I able to show in 4-H, at both the local and state level, I was also able to see a different side of agriculture that few people have the privilege of witnessing. The equine and equestrian industry is truly a blessing to have grown up in and is one of my favorite parts of the agriculture industry. I was six years old when I swore that I would never become a veterinary. I made this promise to myself after watching our local veterinary check to see if a cow was pregnant.
Since I was five, I have had a passion for horses and interacting with them. When I was younger, my parents gave me an array of dolls and horse figurines to entertain myself. I always used to ignore the dolls and play with horse figurines. Luckily, my older sister loved dolls so she just sneakily stole the dolls away from me one by one while I played with my horse figurines for hours. I have always admired the strength, beauty and power of horses. My interest in horses has caused me to search through websites and books for new ways to connect with them and finally after hours of searching; I finally found my calling.
Whenever humans are faced with a morally difficult situation, more often than nnot we will choose the right thing to do. Episodes of courage and kindness are performed everyday, whether they be large or small. However, when a person does these kinds of acts daily, you begin to take them for granted. Sometimes, it takes a large act to open your eyes to truly see the good that someone does.
Riding horses has always been something that I am passionate about. It is a place where I can escape from the world to put all of my emotions into something I love. I have been riding for 9 years and have been showing for 5 years. Riding is not an easy sport as some people believe it to be, riding takes determination and passion. Being an equestrian means being tough and a fighter while being graceful. Riding takes dedication and hard work, but it is all worth it for doing something you love.
