Personal Narrative: Disney World

I got to go to Six Flags in the summer with my parents. I loved all of the rides in Six Flags except for roller coasters. Why don’t I like roller coasters? Well, the main reasons why I don’t like roller coasters was that I am scared of heights. I remember seeing the roller coasters and they towered up so high. My family and I went to Six Flags together because we thought that it would be fun to spend time with each other.

I was always scared of roller coasters, something about them made me feel weird inside. I would go to Great America with my friends and wait outside the rides that were scary for me. I never really thought about getting on any rides that dropped at the speed of lightning and loops that make your stomach flip upside down twenty times. I would just sit down and watch the rides as they dropped. That was until one day, my friend told me “Close your eyes I’m taking you to somewhere that’s fun.” I didn’t know what she meant by that but I did what she told me to do. She also covered one of my ears I didn’t know why. “Open your eyes Steven.” I did and at that moment my mouth dropped. I tried running from the line but it was too late. My friend had made me get in line for the scariest coaster in the park. It was named “Flight Deck” .The seats were empty and the small gates opened. She pushed me into the seat and locked me in as fast as she could. I heard the snap which meant the seat was

On October 28th, 2017 my mother said “here” and gave me $30. “What’s this for?” I asked. “$10 is for lunch and the other $20 is for you to go to Six Flags with your friends (Keion Flenoid, Kamaurion Stokes, and Kelly Dang.) after your chess tournament.” The next morning, my mother took me to my chess tournament where me and my team (Gateway Middle Chess club) placed fourth in the tournament.

I never knew that I was a part of something bigger than a backup, but I turned out to be. Now the fate of every sliver of good magic Walt Disney ever dreamed up rests on me-me and the team, I should say. I suppose it all started, that everything changed at midnight.

When my grandparents told us we were going to disney world they didn't have any special way of doing it , There was no pizza that was shaped like mickey mouse or any posters, or scavenger hunts to find clues to get to the piece of paper that said it, They kinda just told us we were going. Of course we were very excited to go because it was our first time going. When they told us, they told us a couple months ahead so we had to wait, and we counted down the days till we got to go. Before we went to disney we had to go shopping, we had to get clothes, suitcases, and many other things for our trip.

Today I remember the time I was able to participate in The Disney World Thanksgiving Day Tour/parade .It is the day of and I am about to get in line for the parade.I am behind Magic Kingdom where all of the magical Disney Characters are getting prepared to go out into the wonderful Magic Kingdom..

In the year of 2012 is the year I went to Disney world First Me and my family got on the road to go to the air port and we were having so much fun and we got on this bus and went throw this metal detector.After that we got on the plane to go to Florida and when we go there their were people with board with are names on them to take us to the place we was going to be staying The next day we woke up and the place we were staying in was like a home and had free shops so we got up eat breakfast and got ready to go to Disney and we seen a lot of thinks i will never forget and then we came back to where we where staying and eat lunch and dinner and me and my sister we playing games and eating ice cream. Finally we go in the car to go back to the

This is my story of my trip to Disney world. I stayed at Coronado springs and It had a pool. We just got there after Nine hours. Then, we unpacked and went to our room. We Rested and watched T.V. Then we went to the pool. After that We went to the room and went to sleep. The Next day, we got Up early and went to Animal kingdom. We went on many rides Then went to lunch. After that we went to the room and cooled off. Then, we went to go see my older cousin.I was excited to See him because I have not seen him in 5 or six years. We went to dinner to a seafood place. After that, we went to the pool. We came back to our room and took a shower then went to bed. The next day, we got up and went to a place in Disney world and ate breakfast. Then, after that I went to Magic kingdom.

My heart palpitates as I walk into Disney World, it seems like something out of a dream. For a moment I desire only one thing, that my family was beside me in this journey, but I quickly relinquish the thought knowing that wasn’t possible. I then let out a sigh, blinking away the tears that seemed to have already formed in my eyes. “Keep your focus” I quickly and strictly muttered to myself as I wander around the theme park.

Remember those trips to the store or the mall you took with your mom because you either wanted something or you had to go? Everywhere you went, there’s always that one family with that one child that does something to the extreme that embarrasses them to cause everyone in the store to look. They could be running around knocking things down, screaming to the top of their lungs because they couldn’t get what they wanted. Then you always have that one in the family that believes they are invisible and runs around the store with little to no clothes on. It’s funny at first because you know you would never do that at all. However, that is when you’re older and you don’t believe the stories your parents tell you. I, undoubtingly, fall into that category.

From my own experience, I know firsthand the power of Disney. In my life, I have not had the best success with decent health. Crohn’s disease is most often diagnosed at ages 13 to 30 (Grossman “Children and Teens”). I was one of those lucky people to be diagnosed at the age of six. For the past ten years and counting, when it comes to my health, I can honestly say I am on a never ending roller coaster ride. Since being treated costs me the strength of my immune system, I am more susceptible to illness than the average person at any given time of the year. My spirits are low on any day that I wake up and feel exhausted with small flakes of energy. The one thing that can pick me up, is a good Disney movie or show. I cannot help smiling or mouthing

WHOOSH !!, went the roller coaster the wind brushed passed my face and pushed my hair back I smiled with a very big grin I was at six flags for the first time. A week before my best friend maya called me and asked me if I would like to come to six flags with her I screamed YES OF COURSE I WANT TO GO WITH YOU, well i was a little nervous because I had never been on a roller coaster or to an amusement park ever. I was so excited my heart was racing I was so ready to go that, night when I went to bed i couldn't fall asleep because I was so happy I kept thinking about all of the rides and games i was very excited. Finally the day came may, 4 2015 I woke up and was jumping around i got into the shower came out and made my breakfast it was 9:30 we were going to go at 10:30 I ate my food very fast and went to go watch some tv every 5 minutes I was checking my phone to get that one exciting text “We are here to pick you up”.

Experiencing this roller coaster ride with y It has been a light and dark situation but all in all a very good learning experience for the both of us in learning one’s self. At the end of the day what is truth is the love that we share together and bringing us out of the darkness and into the light it has been a very trying situation sometimes I wondered if we would ever come out of this darkness. But then the light comes on and we understand why we go through what we go through together. We feel a sigh of relief with understanding. As for giving me that disconnection because without it I wouldn’t be saying this on paper. So here I am preparing myself for what I do best with the help and love from Larry.

​All that night, I lay in my bed with thoughts of magical places and beings that I would soon meet face-to-face. As my desperation grew, in my reality it seemed that time itself slowed. The next morning, we were heading to Disney World! The land where my dreams were going to come true, where princesses were real and where Prince Charming was going to come and sweep me off my feet. This trip was going to be the new highlight of my short life!
