That leads me to wonder once someone has learned about this organization. How much can that someone get involved? A woman named Natalie said I would first want to go and observe to see if it is an area I would be benefit to the children to help in anyway.” Its sound like this person would at least look into Operation Smile a bit more. Another woman named Jessica said In the absence of lack of money to give, she would be willing to collect for children, toothbrushes, crayons and toys.” Children deserve the best future possible. From what I have read on the official website and heard people say in connection with it. It would seem that this place manages to help several children get a chance at that.
As stated earlier, I realized from early on that one of my main purposes in life was to be an aid and helping hand to others, and as I went through life, I began to notice that I was especially sensitive to the needs of children. I believe that children are one of the most underserved population groups amongst us, as a whole. I understand that there a multitude of organizations that are directed at serving children. However, I do not believe that these organizations reach enough children. There are too many children that have yet to be reached and helped. With this being so, I believe that a program focused on not only
Purpose: To inform my audience that there are kids out there that need our help and to have the audience persuade to donating.
In America, about 10,830 babies are born every day. Each one of these newborns, enters the world into the same hospital environment and receives the same treatment. However, the moment they leave the hospital their lives all take a vastly different path. Some will be successful and some will fail to achieve the American Dream. A dream, that is the result of hard work, and consist of a white picket fence, a good job, and strong family unit. The American Dream is also the hope that we will do better than our parents, and that our kids will do better than us. But what determines who will prevail and who will sink? In his book Our Kids: he American Dream in Crisis, Robert Putnam looks to answer this question, and to warn readers about the crisis that has developed over the last few decades, with the growing inequality gap between the working class and upper class.
Maybe I was too little, or maybe I was too short, but either way I did not make the jump. In the second grade I was your average eight year old, who always wore her hair in ponytails, and enjoyed playing tag at recess. One day I saw the fifth graders on the monkey bars at recess doing something I had never seen before, they were jumping to the fourth bar. I waited untill Kids Inc. that day to try the jump, but it was no use I was acting like a scared baby.

There is so many ways of getting involved that will help make a difference on this charity.
I have been in the United States since two thousand eleven, I was twelve years old. A year later the Obama administration passed a law to guard me, an undocumented immigrant child, from being sent back to Guatemala. The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival program was my ticket to a successful future. My trip here was not an easy ride and I do not know how I survived when I think back to it. That story will be saved for another time, but first let me mention my past and how I came to be.
Children's Surgery International is a non-profit organization that aids underprivileged children throughout the world by providing free surgical services in a safe, compassionate and culturally sensitive manner. This organization was originally the Minnesota Chapter of Operation Smile in the early 1990s, and was founded by Sue Schacht and Mary Alice Seipp. The two were on a business flight when they stumbled upon an article about a non-profit organization who aids child illnesses around the world called Operation Smile. With support from the Washburn Crosby Company, General Mills, and Campbell Mithun, the Minnesota Chapter created and organized their first common relief mission in Barinas Venezuela in September of 1993. In November of 2001,
The whole reason for my epic cross-country trek was making Christmas in Arizona happen for my kids and today begins the culmination of this extravaganza.
On May 19th, 2012 my whole life was turned around. See, my mom had a drug and alcohol problem, so her state of mind wasn’t really in a good place. As I reached my grandmother’s house in Brooklyn, New York, her telephone started to ring. On the other end, was the sound of a woman crying, the type of cry where you can’t get your words out and no one can understand what you are saying. It was the cry of my mother. I couldn’t really make out any of the words she was saying but I clearly heard the part about my brothers being taken away from her by ACS. Now, remember the date I told you in the beginning? Yeah, they day all this happened was on my birthday. This event made me grow and change my whole life around in so many ways.
When a child is born, parents and the society make decisions for the child, but as the child begins to learn (interact and explore the world), they start to have their own interests and opinions. Decision making when young is minimal, but as the child grows into an adolescent (and later adult) they are given increased decision making choices. Life choices can have a negative or positive impact. It’s important to learn from both (negative and positive) to see what works and what does not work. The choices you make will help define who you are.
As far as parenting goes, I will be a parent who is attentive and understanding to my child’s needs, not only their physically needs but their emotional and mental needs as well. I will be a parent who teaches my child the importance of taking care of themselves in a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual sense. I will be most closely described as an authoritative parent in terms of the ways I will parent my child. I will have rules set and they will be firm rules, however I will not be against and unwilling to explain to my child why certain rules are in place. As far as discipline goes, I will not give my child whooping’s. I do not think they are the most effective form of punishment nor do I believe that it is necessary with the exception
One of the worst things you could say to your child or children about divorce or separation is that it is the other’s fault, with Mom placing the blame on Dad, or vice versa. When a couple decides to divorce, it is the end of their relationship, and while each partner may go their separate way, when there are children involved it becomes an entirely different situation. While the parents may be divorcing each other, they are not divorcing their kids, and both parents still have an obligation to their children.
Children are the face of the future. Holding the world in his or her tiny palms, the most seemingly ordinary child can grow up and become the person who finds the cure for cancer. Children with bright, wide eyes and curious minds can change the world. Aubree Rose Ward, created and born June 29, 2015 was the virtual child that I raised over the course of two - three weeks. Aubree is a child that I believe most parents would be proud to call theirs. Being a parent means making the tough decisions that must be made, usually with the best interest of the child at heart. Aubree was born an underweight baby; she was four weeks premature and spent some time in neonatal care due to having jaundice, but seemed to have no other issues otherwise. After those few days spent in neonatal care, Aubree’s Apgar score increased from the six she was given when she was first born to an eight before she came home.
Children are a vital component of our country. As the current working class becomes older and retires, these children are the ones who will replace and care for those individuals. Children, as a whole, are a group of individuals who are unable to care for themselves. Since they can and will play a significant role in the way our world will be shaped, it is imperative to look out and care for them. While not everyone has the best interest of children at heart, many programs have been implemented, especially in the United States, to do just that. Molding, shaping, and educating our country’s youth will only benefit the rest of us later on. Throughout class this semester, we have explored a wide array of children’s programs. More specifically, we have discussed home visiting programs, early childhood education programs, and teacher performance pay programs. Throughout this paper, I will explore the efficacy of these programs and draw a conclusion regarding which type of program is the most and least effective.
