I awake to the sound of dozens of pairs of feet racing down the hallway, I sit up, rubbing my eyes. Glancing out the window, the sky is dark and gloomy, rain hits the window like hundreds of tiny bullets. As I sit and wonder what all the commotion is about, I hear a familiar voice greet me from across the room. “Good Morning Lottie!” I look across at the little tatted brown bear, his button eyes looking happily at me from the old chest of drawers. “Oh, good morning Patches” I replied with a yawn. “Want to go for a walk before breakfast?” Patches asks. I look back to the window and then back to Patches “But it's a bit wet outside” “Only a little. But Kye’s not in his bed, I guess he's getting breakfast with the other kids. Ill just wait. About half an hour passes, and Kye still hasn't returned. I decide to be brave and go alone downstairs to see what he is doing. When I reach the kitchen, I can tell something is wrong. Anna is talking on the phone and the kids are awfully quiet. They stare at me. Anna sees me and hangs up the phone, she smiles and wanders over to me. “Lottie I need to talk to you in private please” We go into the office and she sits me down. “I need to know if you know Kyes whereabouts, he hasn't been seen all morning and we think he could of ran away, do you have any idea where he went?” I feel sick. Ran away? Why would he run away. I shake my head and she smiles. “Thats okay, but if you know anything, let us know so we can find him.” I nod again and leave. “I bet he got so weirded out he ran off” I hear the whispers start, before I can hear anymore, I leave. When I get back to my room, Patches is waiting for me. “Hello Lottie! I headed straight outside where the dumpster was kept and opened up the lid. “What are you doing?! Im your bestfriend? Im your only friend, if you get rid of me Lottie you'll have no one!” Patches yelled at me. “Thats not true, I have friends and the things you tell me are the reason they don't like me!” Before he could reply, I hurdled Patches into the dumpster, I heard him landing with a thump and I closed the lid with a bang. I turned towards the woods in the clearing, running as fast as my legs would take me, I wasnt running for long when I heard a cry, it was Kye! I headed in the direction of the sound and found him sitting below a tree. “There you are!” I was so happy I found him and he was okay. “We need to get you back!” I grabbed his hand and started running back, dragging him along with me. “What were you doing out here?!” He puffed as he spoke, “You're going to think im crazy, but it was your bear, last night I woke up to him telling me to leave, to run away and never come back, im sorry i was so scared” We made it out of the clearing, we came to a stop and I turned to
