Before I moved to Troy, I requested a pair of tires every two years. Now its every year due to a rocky road. Of course, I’m ashamed about complaining because a hard working mother with 10 kids should be enough to worry about. I travel the road everyday dropping my kids off at school. I pick them up from the babysitter and school. I hear my boyfriend and friends complaining about not coming to get me whenever I do not have enough gas money to get where I have to go. Indeed that is a problem. Fixing the road would solve my problem. March 18, 2016 would be a wonderful date for the city of Troy, Alabama to fix my road. This would stop wrecks and save
yelled as he pulled me up. Right as I looked into his deep blue eyes, I felt like I was in one of the cheesy romantic movies. It felt as though there was a spotlight shining on us, and we were the only ones in the world.
On September 08, 2015 at approximately 9:29 PM I, Deputy Bowring, was dispatched to shots fired and the subjects were in a black in color, Nissan pickup, heading north bound on Farm to Market 288 toward State Highway 154.
“Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol reminds me of my favorite show Grey’s Anatomy. Whenever something serious was about happen this song will start playing and I would know someone is either going to die or have a sad moment. In an episode, Callie Torres, one of the characters, got into a car accident when she was pregnant. Her soon to be wife was driving and Callie asked Arizona if she would marry her and Arizona wasn’t paying attention to the road when a car came out of nowhere. When Callie got to the hospital the other doctors got to her into a ER room when they started singing “If I lay here, if i just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world.” This episode was my favorite one because it was a musical episode and I loved how it wasn’t like all the other episodes.
Although driving to and from places is a normal part of many people’s daily routine, it is often forgotten that driving is a dangerous task that demands all attention of a driver for the safety of the occupants of a vehicle. For our safety, cities must provide the best roads and intersections to keep driving a safeguarded activity. As a resident of Tomball and a driver on the roads, I have noticed that the feeder road at the intersection of S.H. 249 and F.M. 2920 located next to Lowe’s and Chase Bank has caused big issues for drivers. Ever since S.H. 249 became a toll road, many Tomball residents have avoided paying high fees for driving short distances by taking this service road. This has caused much more traffic, especially, during rush hour around this area. Many businesses such as Ross, Target, Academy, and Chick Fil A are located here, and are contributing factors to the congestion. I myself have had a few close calls at this intersection. However, the issue did not become apparent to me until my best friend was in an accident at this intersection. Fortunately, she walked away from the accident unharmed, but her brand new car was totalled. Losing anyone at this intersection would be devastating for myself and my community.
Both of you have been driving me all over the place for 18 years. You took me to get my permit and then finally my license. I thought by me receiving my license you guys might finally be tired of driving me everywhere, but that didn’t happen. If I had a car right now you guys wouldn’t have to drive me to every practice, every activity, and every job. Think of all the money you would save on gas! Neither of you would have to argue who’s turn was it to pick me up. Just think of all the benefits! So do your selves a favor and buy me a car.
At approximately 2300 hours I heard a loud crash somewhere outside of my apartment building. I went out on the patio, looked around outside and saw a car stopped by the east entrance gate. I went outside to the gates and saw a black SUV stopped in the driveway, just inside the entrance gate. The car had a flat right front tire and damage to the right front quarter panel. I then looked at the entrance gate and saw the gate had been broken off its hinges and stuck in the open position. The reflective cross bar was stuck in the down position.
If you lived in Minnesota the worst struggle will be road constructions. Many roads are closed due to unfinished constructions. Because of the I-35 bridge collapse in 2007, which caused many deaths and injuries, the state is focusing on building stronger and safer roads. Every day the communities will face the traffic with delay, road closed, and car accidents. The road constructions had been going on for the whole summer, fall, and winter season. Minnesota is a big city that used the roads a lot to travels; therefore, unfinished road constructions can be a struggle.
Life is like a cross road, you can take different paths. Just like freshmen year when i had to either get passing grades to play football or not be eligible to play for bad grades.
There is a serious problem with our nation's roads and highways. I find myself repeatedly avoiding trips to the city for this very reason, as I'm sure many others do as well. This nerve-wracking congestion is even beginning to find its way into the suburbs and surrounding areas of large cities. It is a serious problem that affects everyone who owns an automobile, as well as, businesses that are dependent on reliable and convenient transportation. To top it all off, this problem is getting worse every year. The population of this nation is growing, which translates to an increase in cars on the road. More people are moving to cities and the suburbs that surround them,
I think I should adopt a different lifestyle that decreases the amount of time I spend on the road. I cause a lot of carbon emissions. I also need to eat more vegetables from the farmers market and reduce the amount of meat consumption in our household.
This is a serious problem for some people who do not know what the tracks are like and do not know how slow to go over them. This could cause many accidents and sometimes even serious injuries. Every time someone drives over a railroad they should not have to slow to down to ten miles an hour or slower. Yes, it is a good idea too and is safer, but what if they were smooth and flat and people could just keep going the speed limit. It would make things more efficient and faster to get to places. If the driver goes too fast over the tracks it could damage their car because the railroad is not flat. For instance, on my way to school, I have to go over a railroad track and it is in terrible condition. There are no meters to know if a train is coming, one of the lights are out also to know when a train is coming, it is so bumpy even going slow doesn’t help, I jerk back and forth, and drivers cannot see if there is oncoming traffic because the tracks are elevated higher than the rest of the road. An easy way to solve this is lower the tracks to the same level as the road to where it is flat. People walking could see oncoming traffic and have a better understanding of where to walk. Another way to solve this is get new tracks to lie on the road. A few years ago, Sullivan got new tracks near where the highway crosses them in the middle of town and it is so much smoother and easier to drive over then most of the railroads in town. It might cost some money, but I think it is something the city of Sullivan should invest
One bitter cold night, Elvin was driving the two of us to a football game in Dallas, Texas. That night, I ended up doing something impossible. It was tragic, but It made me feel empowered.
There is a wide range of community problems that exist in the city of El Paso, Texas ranging from gender, violence, education, and even health. Yet, there is a greater issue that usually everyone notices and falls victim for but is mostly unthought of and ignored by many due to the impotence of finding a solution to it. This problematic issue is the road-work going on all around the community. Whether it consists of fixing something as simple as a street light to adding new rails, pavement, or sidewalks these projects become a lifetime of problems to all the members of the city. These projects have a timeline that is mostly never met due to the poor management of time and of working conditions that come along with the projects.
The proposal of repairing all potholes in New York City will help residents in many ways. After a tremendous amount of winter storms, New York City’s potholes are at record high levels. New York City may experience a whopping 250,000 to 300,000 potholes by the end of spring 2016, the highest number of potholes since 1970 (Habib, 2016). The city has a glaring issue with potholes. The city should have agendas in place to prevent potholes from occurring so that we will not have to focus on repairing potholes. Many localities continue Christmas list budging, in which department heads prepare requests without any executive guidance about budget targets or conditions (Mikesell, 2017, pg.222). I am proposing that the city directly uses the five million dollars to repair potholes throughout the city. This project will fix the underlying condition of New York City’s streets while improving battered roadways. It
One late afternoon as I was driving home from school with my father, I saw my life flash before my eyes. While out on a country road, I came to a complete stop for I was fearing for my life. An enormous tractor with its deathly large wheels was coming right towards me as it was taking up the whole road. I was freaking out, being unsure of what to do, until all of the sudden as the monster was a couple feet away from me, it shifted over just enough to miss the vehicle I was driving. From my drastic experience, I have come to the conclusion that in every part of the world where there are tractors and fields, new roads need to be built for only tractors, and Miami county needs to be the one to set the vision for the future of Indiana.
