When I unknowingly broke copyright law was when I was given a disc of music and the person did not pay for the music. My actions of taking it could have affected me because I used music that was not paid.Steps i make next time is to not take a disk or movie that has not been paid yet. I also should tell the person what they are doing is wrong.
This is Platt. I am a thirty-two year old male negro. I hail from Georgia. I am what you would call “Contraband”. I have been endlessly working on a plantation for my whole adult life until this year when I have escaped my master and gone up to the great country of Canada. Living on a plantation working in the blazing sun day in and day out has deeply affected me. According to Gordon, a slave whom I met from Mississippi, has showed me his many scars from whippings that he received from attempting to escape. They were even worse than mine. From this, I have concluded that I am lucky. Another fellow named Wilson Chinn told me that he was branded with spiked iron collars, heavy ankle and wrist chains, spiked paddles and leg stiffening brackets.
As my norm violation I chose to alter the way we are supposed to be dressed and look in public as society says. I walked around the marketplace in a backwards low cut shirt, backwards ripped jeans, one blue shoe, one red shoe, and a bright pink wig. First, I went into the yogurt store and everyone was staring at me with blank expressions and kids were laughing. As I walked over to get my favorite mango yogurt an old man jokingly asked if I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I told him no, I just liked to wear my cloths this way and that this was my natural hair. After I left the store and started walking around the water fountain, girls my age were pointing, giving me dirty looks, and some were laughing as they whispered in each other’s ears. Guys my age looked confused when they
I have had stitches before, in my head, but I did not know that one collosal mistake could cost me my entire summer of getting wet and showering. It was summer in Michigan, and I was at my Grandmother’s house for camping, like my brothers and I do every year. This year, I was excited because my father had let us bring our bikes to ride around.
My need for exemption falls on the financial disability my family and I will face if I were to dorm at Cal Poly Pomona. My mom does not have a permanent or stable job to rely on because she babysits on an irregular basis, which is why she can’t present her taxes to demonstrate her income. I also have a 7 year old brother whom I help with homework and any school related activity because of the language barrier between my mom and his education. I translate any information that my mom needs to know and help my brother understand his work when he is having difficulty. I would gladly like to dorm on campus because I think it is a great way to become more involved in school activities and network with other people, but due to my economic status I
As I am sitting in my smelly, old jail cell I am thinking why did I pretend to be someone else. I’ll tell you why I got into jail. This is the story of how I got into all of mess and what I did that made me go to jail. Once I was stealing from a store and I was about to big escape while my partner was outside by the car covering for me. My partner and I always robbed places because this is what we did since we were in high school. We got in the car started to drive, went across the bridge and BOOM. We quickly jumped out of the car and got in the boat under the bridge in enough time to get in the boat before the police got to our car to find us. We drove back to the warehouse in the boat because we have to drop the money that we got and we almost
I was doing a project on Scott Joplin and accidently used a video for more than 30 seconds and it had copyright protection. I had also accidently used a photo without checking if it had copyright protection. And, I might have copied some sentences from a biography of Scott Joplin. My mom had checked my project and told me to cite my sources. So, the authors and etc. would have credit of their work.
Using works that are protected by copyright law and infringing the right of the copyright holder.
Misuse of copyright is when the copyright holder misuses the legally-backed rights in order to extend its dominance regarding the use of the copyright work to an extent which may not be acceptable when kept in perspective with law and equity.
I’m going to talk about how and when I got my license. All the events leading to how I managed to finally get them. It took me a little minute to actually get the guts to do all of the requirements to do so. Everyone in my family was anxious for me to get them so I can do everything for them. That didn’t make me excited like I thought but eventually it would give me permission to have free time because I can drive myself where I need to go instead of getting dropped off that is not cool anymore.
A few years ago I wanted to watch a movie, but I didn’t have netflix and they didn’t have it in the movie theaters so I looked on youtube to see if they had the movie for free and they had one where you could pay money for it, but I didn’t want to pay so I found the movie for free and the movie was not 70 years old so it was still copyrighted. So basically I watched something that wasn’t mine and I didn’t pay for it, but at the time I didn’t know what copyright could really do to you. I didn’t realize that what I was doing effected the people who worked there and everybody who made the movie. So basically I broke the law at the age of eight without knowing.
I was accused of violating a policy after receiving supervisory permission. I cooperated with the investigation, was subjected to a polygraph which I passed, and then asked to resign. I refused as I felt that would admitting guilt and I would not compromise my integrity. The acting Chief decided to terminate me
If I was able to eliminate one law, the law would be to get your license right when you turn 16 and not have to wait for 6 months after their permit. Teens want to go places, when they are 16, and most of their parents do not have time to take them anywhere. When they get their license most of them have to wait to get a car because they do not have money to get one. Also, you have more responsibility than teens who are younger. Also, most have jobs and they need to get there, and if they do not have their license and their parents are not home, they will not be able to get there on time. This is what I would do if I was able to eliminate one law.
The punishment for breaking copyright laws is payment of the amount of money the owner lost as a result of the copyright being broken. The fine can add up to $150,000 for knowingly breaking the copyright and up to $200 for unknowingly breaking it, and they go by if you seem knowing or not, not by what you say. Another reason why not to break copyright laws is that it will make people think that you are either stupid or a bad person. I'm pretty sure most people don't like that. Even worse, if you make $2,500 in profit by selling 10 copies or more within 180 days, you can be put in jail for 5 years and fined $250,000 max. If you do it a second time the jail time is doubled.
The average person wouldn't even consider walking into a music store and stealing a CD, however, with today's technology getting music without paying for it is so easy it barely seems illegal. Copyright infringement is a huge ethical issue going on right now. From downloading movies and music from peer-to-peer programs as well as various websites to being able to stream a movie at the click of a button without a copy ever being saved on the computer it's so simple, anyone could get addicted to doing it. For some of these reasons many argue that copyright infringement is a moral thing to do, but on the other hand others believe it is just as immoral as stealing. When comparing and contrasting reasons for why copyright infringement is moral and why it is immoral I think when it comes down to it it is stealing and would obviously be immoral.
Copyright infringement is the unauthorized use of copyrighted material in a manner that violates one of the copyright owner's exclusive rights, such as the right to reproduce or perform the copyrighted work, or to make derivative works that build upon it.
