What to cook
It’s strange to think that the 2009 drama about Julia child, called “Julia and Julia”, was what evoked my passion for food. Not food exactly, but the plethora of healing properties it may contain. I’m not referring to your basic scrambled eggs or buttered toast, instead, I became fascinated in aromatic Thai curries and the restorative properties of cinnamon. I bought my first cookbook in 8th grade, and prepared myself for the destructive summer ahead. Fried pans and burnt noodles stayed fragrant in the air for weeks upon their demise. Apple rinds and decayed broccoli florets filled our trash bag to the brim, trapping its stench only slightly. As any 12-year old, I eventually gave in to the hard-earned truth that it was highly unlikely

Chia, flax, papayas, and prunes were marketed as miracle seeds and fruits, that would solve any digestive disruption someone could encounter. At first glance, I immediately thought of my grandmother, and the hordes of prune juice in her ancient kitchen cabinets, which befriended both spider webs and stale wheat-thins alike. I had no interest in consuming this “miracle” drink, so I searched more intensively the rest of the night. I gathered plant-based recipes and shopping lists to haul to the local grocery store, as I embarked on a coffee-induced march, cruising from aisle to aisle until I located all the necessities. When I arrived home, I commenced upon cooking every dish that I could conjure up, testing different food combinations that were mild on my ailing stomach. Contrary to the copious amounts of meat and dairy products I had consumed before, I instead focused on plant-based and nutrient dense meals. My passion for food had been reinvigorated, only now under different circumstances. I took inspiration for recipes from my research, as well as my various travels abroad. Every meal I contrived, was sent packing in a vibrant Tupper-ware container to my college-bound siblings, who desperately needed a break from vending machine anomalies at four a.m. My 90-year old grandmother also suffers from similar impairments to
Some of the conversation consisted of us being very annoyed at the fact people could not pronounce Ryan Beatty’s name correctly.
First of all I was in my dark room with the only light being my t.v, I playing Xbox with my friend Skylar, we were playing Rainbow Six Siege a counter terrorism shooter. It was a late on a dark, stormy night, it was bomb objective and only I was left on the team to face five other enemies defusing the bomb and I slowly and stealthy with his silenced pistol picked off about two enemies outside the objective roaming and then pulled out his primary the 416-C Assault Rifle and went in blazing in the objective and his heart was racing he picked off another two enemies and that’s when he began guarding the defuser waiting to find the last enemy. “Can you search cams Skylar?” I asked Skylar.
After walking in on his sub cheating on him with the security guard, Taden McIntire had decided it was time to make a change. He wanted to have a life where he didn’t hate himself at the end of the day like he did working on Wall Street. Reading an advertisement for new entrepreneurs in the small southern town of Cedar Falls, Taden decided to roll the dice and move.
Bethany Hamilton screamed "I got attached by a shark". Her friend Alana, her dad Holt, and her brother Bryan rushed to get to her. Holt got there first, staring at her arm being gone, but stops because he knew if he didin't hurry she would die of blood loss. Bryan called 911, and waited for the ambulance. When the ambulance came, they rushed to get her to the hospital. A couple of hours went by, Bethany got out of surgery. After all the visits and stuff she asked when can she get back in the water? The Doctor said it would take a long time for her to get use to having only one arm. The doctor talked a lot but all she could think of was the ocean. Thats when she made a promise to be on a surfboard by Thanksgiving Day.
"If my men are too scared to return without Hannah Curtis, I will happily let Miss Curtis kill them. There is no room for cowardice in these ranks, boys. I, however, am no coward and an honorable warrior will let me go free back to my Queen." The Commander sounds disgusted as he raises his voice to address me, assuming I'm somewhere near him. Which is true, obviously, yet he can't be sure.
On a Saturday morning, around 10am, my family was getting ready for my niece’s (Maritza) 4-year-old birthday party. After 12:30pm we were already at my sister’s (Adele) house, ready to give my niece a hug and her annual present. At the moment Maritza wasn’t home, so I stalled for a bit. Chatted with their neighbor, few high school friends, and their wife’s. Finally, she showed up along with her father. The first person she hugs is me, I’m her favorite uncle, according to her, as she hugs my legs and looked up and says, “hey uncle J.” I replied “hey?” with a bit of a curiosity on my mind. Her lip had a big red lump. I managed to not ask her what had happened on her lip. I’m thinking it’s a “I fell down” type accident. The party went off, and
The front door chimed at Theron & Son’s Tuxedo Shop as the proud African-American Mr Hayden Lewis was trailed by his aloof muscular college freshman son, Jayden. Jayden’s only sibling, Cassie, was to get married the next morning; he just flown-in for her wedding against his feelings to her soon-to-be husband.
“All you gotta do is open yo legs!” Said the boy I had only seen a couple of times around school before. I felt like my life was flashing before my eyes. I was hoping for this moment to end. The smell of weed and cigs filled the air. It was a beautiful day outside and yet all I could hear was cars and buses rushing by. This is how I knew no one would hear my cry for help.
I send my mom a quick text to let her know where I am going, and we are off in five cars lined up like a Mardi Gras parade. I have a bad feeling about this. I have never been to Micah’s grandmother’s house, and I am totally alone in the last car. If I lose them at a turn or a light, I might never find my way, but I have no other choice but to drive myself because of my early curfew. My friend, Ben, is in the car in front of me, and I am staying close behind him, so I don’t get lost.
Ella Wood. That’s who I am just Ella Wood a 16 year old girl who never really had much going on and who not many people knew. At least that’s what I had thought a few hours ago when my name wasn’t on the news and pretty much every other place that you could think of. You may be confused as to what I’m talking to you about, so let me tell you a story. Let me warn you though this is not just any story, but my story. First of all let me introduce myself a bit better. I live in a town that’s kind of big and called Blackview. I love to make music it’s one of my special talents and I could also dance. I have an older brother named Tyler. I also have a twin brother named Ethan we’re practically inseparable. We’ve done a lot of things together and
Freshman Ella. It’s a scary thought, but for this story we have to go back to March of my freshman year at an event called Chamber Festival, which is basically when you play in small groups instead of large orchestras. In our school orchestra I was second chair viola which, me only being a freshman, was a very big deal. At least it was for me. Many of my other friends in orchestra already had their own instruments, and I felt like it was time to get one of my own. So for months I begged my parents. I insisted that I wouldn’t give up playing in a year or two, that I really would stick with it long enough for the investment to make sense. Finally, in the beginning of 2015, they agreed to get me a viola. Now was the hard part, agreeing
The igniting spark between himself and Camila did not dwindle, everlasting and perpetual; a conundrum yet to unfold.

" Ah... did that child just...?" Cole turns his head side to side, trying to see where did that infant disappear to. He then looks under the table, wondering if the poor thing slipped out of his father's arms. "Where did that little one toddle off too?" Cole slowly lifts his head back from under the table when Lenny gleefully chasing after his baby boy. Ah, the life of a parent. Well, super natural parent that is. A bittersweet chuckle escapes from his mouth as his attention turns back to the aggron lad in front of him.
As he shoved his luggage into his overhead bin, he took a seat with exhaustion. Remembering all the memories they've had at their grandparents house, when they were little. Now today would be the day to relive all those fun and exciting memories, thought Jamerson. Jamerson knew he could be able to show his Grandma Judy and Grandpa Jona, all the things he's learned from his practices in football, soccer, and basketball. Kaitlyn had finally gotten a flight attendant to come over by her. Kaitlyn began to speak, “Mrs, by any chance do you have wifi on here I could connect to?” The flight attendant Carrie had said, “I'm sorry ma'am we don't, is there anything else I can get you?” Kaitlyn didn't say anything, she sat there in disappointment. Ugh,
