I am a person who easily adapts to different professional and social environments. I have demonstrated ability to adapt flexible work practices during my employment with Prime Tooling and Blue Fox Systems. My ability to work flexibly was a key component of my employment with Blue Fox Systems. The office culture at Blue Fox was very fast paced and reactive in nature. It required constant attention to detail, the ability to re-prioritise, and flexibility. Being an IT organization, the pressure and demands upon each staff member required that we were able to take on whatever duty or priority task was required at the time, either as a member of a team or as an individual. In my daily work, I am flexible to leave what I am working on and assist
If the workplace of today could be characterized by a single theme, it would most likely focus on the continual presence of change. Dramatic changes in technology, the marketplace and the workforce have compelled organizations to re-evaluate not only the competitiveness of their products, but also the core ways in which work is performed. It is out of this pursuit for continued survival that organizations have been faced with the notion of varying work-schedules beyond the traditional hours of nine to five. This paper will explore the societal and business changes that have led to a proliferation in flexible work patterns. This paper will also address the benefits and disadvantages of flexible work patterns for
The disappearance of lifetime employment opportunities has required workers to become more agile and flexible in adapting to changing conditions.
When I was working at Target there were two mangers that I was to train and help if they needed it. The conflict was that they come in and changed everything in our stations. Which was uncomfortable due to that I had more experience and was working there longer. Nothing work well within the ream after that point.
Working at KTXT was the best experience I have had in my professional life. I learned so much at that station that I have no choice but to donate to it when I actually make a decent living. I started out as an fall intern for a semester after taking the previous summer off from school. I always wanted to work in radio, and this was finally my chance to make that happen. And BOOM...I excel at the production side of things! I taught myself years before how to edit video, so editing audio just came natural to me. My production director was relieved that she did not have to teach another student how to edit audio. I was in! I was killing it; editing live shows, sports broadcast, promos, news stories, and then the end of the semester was creeping
Hy-Vee helped me restart my life. At the beginning of August of 2016, my family moved from Hampton, Iowa to Mason City, Iowa. My dad’s job is in Mason City so it made sense for us to move. When my family moved, I didn’t know anyone up here and I needed to quit my job in Hampton as I wasn’t earning enough for it to outweigh the worth of the drive back and forth every weekend. I scoured the area for a job opening for weeks with several rejections and few promising results. Without friends or anything else to put my time and effort into, I started to drive myself insane.
In 2014, I worked part time as a Copy and Print Center Expert at Staples where I established positive relationships with customers, specifically Small Business owners. As the only person during the evening shift it was necessary that I managed multiple priorities, such as schedule the printing jobs, help walk-in customers and deliver online orders, with finesse and a positive, upbeat manner to foster future business with the customer.
Even though it is good location, my job at Smithfield Packing Company is horrible because of the mean boss, working conditions are terrible, and the unpleasant people I work with.
On page 48 in the Norton Field Guide to Writing, the author states “Being flexible means being adaptable.” In life things are constantly changing and problems are thrown at you when you least expect it. Being able to handle unexpected situations instead of running away from them is an attribute you should strive for. For example, I come from a very small town named Kerman. At the high school I went to I was familiar with just about everyone. Fresno State’s enrollment in 2016 was about 24,403, which is more than the population in my town. Coming into a new setting and not knowing anybody in every class can be overwhelming. Learning to adjust to this new environment and make new friends shows you’re being
Overall, my interview experience was positive, except when I was interviewed for my panel I was truly taken back by the mannerisms of the Customer Support Specialist staff. Moreover, is how I felt subtle tones of skepticism and micro-aggression that prompted me to reach out to the EEOC in Washington, DC - seeing how I was interviewed by three Caucasian women with my second staff making a sly comment as she exited the door. Whereas, when I interviewed with Frontpoints Corporate Recruiter - Jessica Cea, I felt great as if I applied to the right company - as I was welcomed and toured with open arms; including, her colleague who interviewed me right after.
While working at Bank of America I interacted with quite a few generations, mainly ones older than me. In most of my job employements, I was always one that was the youngest. When I works at Mc. Donalds, K Mart, Best Buy, Famous Footwear, and Office Depot, I was usually the youngest one and they would pick on me just because I was the youngest. By working a couple of jobs and having experience with various generations, I have observed that generations older than me, do not have patiences with my generation. However, when individuals that are older than me ask me for assistance whether it is with a computer, paper work, etc, I am far more patient with them because I know they were not raised in a time that technology was not prominent. It is
. I currently work in the manufacturing industry. In this industry you have to be able to adapt to change. One day I came into the office and my manager explained to me that we are currently getting rid of our current release software and I would have to learn the new software and train my employees. She gave me the instruction manual and went through a few basic modules and screens then she walked away. I didn’t really like the fact that she went through the screens so fast and left me with no further instruction. I knew I had to learn this new software so that I could train my employees so I sat down at my desk and read through the instruction manual and navigating my way through the different screens. After spending a few hours reading
My workplace host was Stacey Smith and she is a florist. I job shadowed her on April 29th, 2016. It was at Always Blooming which is her shop. I was there from 9a.m to 4p.m. Her responsibilities are taking orders for customers, making the order like a bouquet, and taking care of finances. She has workers who also help with like delivery and making items for the customers. Having her own business is a lot of work because she has to worry about how to save money and make customers happy. When you are working you never really have a break because you have to answer calls and do things for people. It is important to be ready for anything, there is always something to do.
My work place environment and staff relations are very basic. Because I am working in the school I'm used to the whole environment considering that I am here in the school five out of seven days so I am used to it and know what I am doing. Starting the internship, there was not much of a difference based on finding my way around, figuring out how to do certain work, and adjusting to the place. Because I intern where I attend school, I am familiar with the people, the building, and the work. The work is very similar to classes that I have already taken/are taking such as art class and photography. I do a lot that has to do with yearbook so I get the best of the art department and I am familiar with all the work that goes into
Today the world is changing so rapidly and the way it has changed in last few decades, it hasn’t changed in last few hundred years. So adaptability has become the need of the hour. I believe that adaptability is the most important quality of all, particularly if one is in technology industry. There have been times when this adaptability has changed the nomenclature of day and night but it has also given me rewards at the appropriate times. Adaptability, personally, has created a far-reaching international outlook and I was able to spend time, living outside my country of origin, working for UK retails giants and this stay not only diversified my work experience but also my cultural experience. It has improved my exposure to diverse situations with increasing levels of complexity and this exposure has increased my eagerness for new challenges. It has instigated a feeling in me that there
