The First Month at RVEC
The start and the best part
My month here at Roanoke Valley Early College has been a great month because this place has way more to offer and the teachers are amazing- I just love learning new things. I met new people and I feel like everyday I get to experience college life. I feel like my best experience has to be just the growing up part. I know that I only have three more years in high school then I am off to college so I feel that this school is showing me how to grow up and the right way to do that. It just shows you a whole different light while you are basically an adult in college and you are you now finding out who you are as a person and so on.
The Worst Part
The worst part is just and still is the huge adjustment. It’s sometimes the work that can get hard and overwhelming at times and just trying to keep up grades because you feel like you’re not intelligent when you don’t receive the grades you got before but I believe that once you have the drive and mindset to do something you can do anything. I just want to feel better about myself since you probably could tell math is just not my subject and

I just feel like I am never able to spend time with my family and have a balance.I find it extremely hard to balance that and that’s a problem and this may not be the best essay but just know that I try and sometimes I just don’t feel like I am doing enough that’s why I am always tired and just afraid to speak in class. Since I’m scared to be wrong and I know that I shouldn’t be. I am trying to be the best that I can possibly be. That’s why I am going to just suck it up and realize that life isn’t always going to be easy and school isn’t either. I am going to just keep being me and make sure to always “TRY” and give one hundred and ten percent
During my time at Union County College I have been faced with a lot of difficulties. I’ve struggled along the way but one thing I do believe is that I have the power to do better. My GPA has been affected by my personal mistakes. In my past semesters I have let my job take over my life rather than let school be most important. I have also let my personal family problems affect my work ethic. But through my fall 2014, it was most difficult because of March 2014 I lost my father through an unexpected heart attack. Throughout my fall semester I did struggle and cope with my father not being here anymore. I believed that I wasn’t focused enough because I used fall semester as a time to occupy myself rather that time out to deal with my father’s
I am a high school senior at Fair Park, looking forward to my first year at Jackson State University in the upcoming fall. My cumulative GPA is currently at a 3.6 average and anticipating to increase next semester. I would be considered the best person to receive a scholarship simply because I go the extra mile to assure my success. Although college is an extensive goal, it could be quite expensive. There is no better way to pay for college than by being awarded money for outstanding academic excellence.
they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please
I would be lying if I said Rock Valley College was my first choice when it came down to choosing a place to continue my studies. Then again, like many others students, I didn’t have a
The first quarter has been a rocky road from the beginning, I have had many ups and many downs. I still hadn’t grasped what I needed in order to be successful. My original goal was to receive all “A’s” on my first report card. Of course that has proven to be a tad bit difficult because of the amount of work that I have to try to balance. That was not the problem it’s just the keeping up part that is what’s bugging a bit. Honestly, I just need to sit back, relax, and think about how I got here. There has to be some reason why I am here in the first place because I don’t know how I did it. I’m here now and there is nothing to stop me from achieving success, my motivation is my grandfather and I will in fact make him proud.
On August 10, 2016 I started my journey at Roanoke Valley Early College. My older brother and sister both attended RVEC and they would always try to tell me what to expect. The RVEC experience is an experience that had to experience myself. My first month at RVEC has really been a learning experience. I’ve had some good experience and only one bad experience, but I guess that’s just part being in early college.
If I could go back in time and relive a particularly difficult moment in my life, I will work part-time in the weekend in high school. I want to save my money. I want to travel other state. I also want to see my childhood friends. I wish I spend more time to have fun with my friends when I was young. When I first came here I went to school and I didn't how many class I have to take the class and to pass the MACS. I spent one more year to get my diploma. I wish if I know all this I will take class that require. I will go to Middlesex Community College early to practice the MACS because they have MACS class. After I going Middlesex Community College I pass the MACS. It is very helpful to go there. I learned a lot of MACS how to answer the open
When my physics professor told me that, I was rather upset than happy. I am here to learn, not to only know couple of equations for the test. College classes are designed to challenge students, not to give easy A’s. My time with Harford Community College was great but not challenging enough. I desire more hands-on experience and research projects, which my community college both lack of. This is when I realize that I need to transfer to somewhere that would give me a lot of opportunities to shine.
As a first generation college student in my family, it has been an enriching experience attending Wake Technical Community College. I have learned a lot about myself, and why I love pursuing my education. I have experienced diversity, and a passion for lifelong learning. I am very proud to say that I will be graduating with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood, and I am very excited for the next chapter in my life. I hope that next chapter will be attending Meredith College to pursue a bachelor's in Child Development, so that I can change the lives of many children. It is my career goal to help children pursue their dreams of a higher education, and Meredith can provide a learning environment to contribute to that dream. Since I’m the first
My first year at Jamestown Community College as a student, I accomplished making Part-time Dean’s List two semesters back to back. Beginning college that year my personal goal was to strive making new habits to get the best experience out of college, while keeping up with my grades. I took classes to guide me through learning paths, but it they taught me ways of accomplishing what you wanted out of life and other significant information in classes. Prior, to entering to college I received a scholarship called Chautauqua Educational Opportunity to attend Jamestown Community College. It is significant to my study because in high school I constantly strived to push myself to get the grades I wanted to be proud of. I was part of a couple activities
Although in the past four years at Roanoke Valley Early College (RVEC) I have grumbled about how long I have been in the program and mentioned being ready to graduate almost everyday, writing this paper almost feels like a farewell. A bittersweet moment that I can safely say I deserve because of how hard I worked towards seeing this year all come together. The best way to describe is stunning. I would almost always hear any and everyone say that senior year comes up fast and I now know that they were not joking even a little. During my time at Roanoke Valley Early College I have evolved into a person that I am proud to call myself through my internship, staff members, career aspirations, and individual improvement.
In the fall of 2005, I took my first steps onto the campus of Appalachian State University with my sister who was entering as a freshman. One of my most vivid memories from my childhood is walking hand in hand with my then eighteen year old, wide eyed, and prospective sister into the Watauga dorms. Afterwards, as we left down King Street, I distinctly remember gazing back towards the magnificent North Carolina mountains and yearning to stay. Even at the age of five, I knew that one day I would follow in her footsteps and become an Appalachian Mountaineer.
When I was a senior in high school my father had his second heart attack and had to have open heart surgery. Upon Graduation from High School in May 2016, I made the decision to move in with my Father who is a sixty-eight-year-old Disabled Vietnam Veteran with many health issues. During my Freshman year at Pearl River Community College, his health had declined and the doctors discovered that he had an aneurysm in his chest and blockages in his legs. Thankfully after his surgery was completed and he was able to come back home, I was to be on break so I could stay with him and help with whatever he needed. I am one of six children and have chosen to take care of him and live there in lieu of working outside of College. The two oldest of my
Hi, I am Anna Wysmierski, and I live in Farragut. I am originally from Elyria, Ohio, but my family moved here to Tennessee when I was eight years old. My summer was busy, but it was very fun. I spent the first half of my summer at East Tennessee State University participating in the Governor’s School for the Scientific Exploration of Tennessee Heritage and the second half going on college visits and doing summer swimming at Village Green. Regarding work, I worked a couple of lifeguard shifts at my neighborhood pool this summer. Next year, I plan on majoring in either math or actuary science at the college I end up attending. Honestly, I do not know much about personal finance, so most topics will be new and interesting for me to
My experience at North Carolina A&T has been great in many ways. I appreciate the activities offered on campus, the football games, and also the parties! There are only a few things I dislike about the school which is the food and the housing. I wish there were different alternatives to choose from in the dome, like Chinese food, Zaxby's, or KFC. I absolutely hate having a roommate, since I have never had to share a room before. If the size of my room was bigger, I wouldn’t mind. My first choice was to attend Clark Atlanta University, but I received my scholarships to late. I have been trying to decide whether or not I should transfer to Georgia, which I have not made up my mind yet. All in all, I believe NCAT may be the right school for me.
