Personal Narrative: My First Strength Related To PPS

There were many people in my life that got me to who I am today. My family and friends were the main people that influenced who I am. There were many events that influenced me but the most recent one is picking early college.

Starting high school can be a little scary, especially when you have no guidance from siblings, like me, being the first one from my family to have an education. But that did not stop me from succeeding, I?ve always been confident and determined. I?m an enthusiastic when it comes to trying new things. Who would have thought I was going to be a good athlete plus a book geek, when in my past years I was just a regular kid. I was pretty excited about joining a club that had a connection with high school, that way I didn?t have to start from zero, I always want to be a step ahead. Fortunately, in summer, a high school coach was recruiting freshmen for running either cross country or track, they both involve running, so I considered it like the same sport with different timing. As discussed by Military Times (2013), the constantly assess the following traits by continually knowing myself and seeking self-improvement every chance I get, along with being technically proficient in my duties while seeking responsibility and taking responsibility for my actions. I diligently work to make sound and timely decisions while setting the example for others to emulate. I identified priorities in my patient assignments when one of my patients became unstable. I had a patient whose pulse oximetry was reading in the 80% with 6 L of oxygen. At that time, that patient was my main priority. I quickly got my preceptor, and informed her of the situation. She informed the physician and I implemented the order to give the patient IV Lasix to diuresis the fluid out of the patient’s lungs so he could breathe better. We ended up calling a code and we moved him to the ICU where he could be constantly observed.

Remain level during times of adversity on and off duty. As an incoming freshmen my strengths as a writer are a wide vocabulary , word usage, and writing argumentative essays. I feel with having strength in those areas allows me to be a successful write, with success comes some weakness. My weaknesses are grammar, punctuation, spelling ,and thesis statements. I have a hard time trying to depict what is the best punctuation when writing. All throughout grade school and high school I've always been an underachiever in spelling. English and writing are my least strongest subjects. I floundered in high school with these subjects. My current strengths according to the LifeStyle Management Health Risk Inventory, is that I am punctual in seeing a primary care provider, whom I have seen in the past two years, it was suggested that it is of vital importance to do so, as a PCP can provide helpful information about my health and how I can improve any health problems I may have. One of my strengths as a writer is when I start to write I get into a writing flow, it is when someone's thoughts and writing feel like they are completely in sync as they write, and I am sure that almost everyone gets into a flow when they get focused enough. The problem for me is getting into that writing flow in the first place. I am talking about the common writer's block; also, another weakness that I found when I was in English N50 is that I have a particularly hard time writing about myself. I did improve over the course, but I still struggle. Over the year I have made a tremendous amount of progress as a writer. I have improved my grammar and reduced the amount of run-on sentences in my writings. Throughout the year my writings have made a lot of improvement and my grades throughout the year reflect this well. In the beginning of the year my writings were very choppy or unorganized and didn’t flow very well but now they have structure and are very detailed. I have gone from getting an h5 on my first writing to a h8-9. This year, I have learned to make corrections, do extra research, and take time on my writings or essays. My writings this year show my strengths, weaknesses, growth and made me set goals for next year.

My primary strengths as a writer is using logos in my articles. I prefer to explain my idea logically, and prove my view by providing sufficient evidence and examples. So I like analyzing the news and social phenomenon so that I can understand the reason why these things happened behind the events.

I believe that my competency strengths are teamwork, leadership and communication also referred to as T.L.C. A goal cannot be completed by one person, a leader must not only trust that their team can complete the goal, but trust that they will be able to work together. My five strengths that strengthsquest gave me is Input, Connectedness, Relator, Futuristic, and Responsibility. Each of these strengths definitely describe me and how I look at my life. I have worked in retail and customer service for the past four years and I use each of my strengths while working with the customers.

My strengths as a writer are: I love to do research and create outlines. I absolutely enjoy to learn about anything, whether it is something I know or like, or if it is something I don’t even know what it is. Obviously, technology these days make it a lot easier to find anything you ever wanted to know about something. I can always find enough references through research to write any paper. I also really like doing the outlines to a paper. I can do a main topic and all that follows very easily and know where to put everything in my outline to make the paper flow and stay interesting.

I gripped my cloak tighter, pulling the fabric taut over my shoulders as the cool morning air made my skin prickle. Today was the day where I finally get to join the Dragon Hunters, and follow in my great grand dad's footsteps. I’ll be the first of the old Mays generation to join up in a long time.
