Through this assignment, I have learned some new writing skills and recalled some of the writing strategies I learned from my previous writing courses at UC Davis. For instance, I learned that free-write is a good technique in writing because it allows writers to write down all their ideas without judging them. I will definitely apply this technique in my future assignments not only in this course, but also other courses that require me to write.
I really enjoyed writing this paper as it allows me to be vulnerable by sharing my past experience to my audience. I feel good writing about my story because it can help or inspire others who might share the same experience. Besides, this assignment does not require intensive research; therefore, I did not have a hard time writing a clear thesis and expanding my story from the introduction.

I agree with their opinions as sometimes the audience can appreciate and notice the strengths of our work better than ourselves. Therefore, I would really love to get feedback from experienced writer, especially on the transitions between my sentences or paragraphs, as well as my word choice. Even though I have done my best for this assignment, there are always rooms for improvement throughout my journey of becoming a good writer. As an example, I could have chosen better words with greater precision in describing my experience. However, I would need to improve my vocabulary in order to do that. Therefore, I truly hope I would be able to grow as a writer through by attending lectures besides doing the reading and writing assignments in UWP
This essay will be a self-evaluation of my writing style, and the improvements I have made over the past three months. Before I took this class I had not written a paper since the last time I was in college. That was around 2004, my major was computer software. For that major there isn’t a whole lot of writing involved. This was more of a refresher class than anything. To be honest I was a little intimidated, for the simple reason I had not written anything like this since high school. I will discuss how I discovered my writing process. My development as a writer throughout this semester, and finally I will evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of my essays.
While attending writing class, I learned about the 4 steps in writing, bases for revising, organizing, and connecting specific information, and I also learned about the different types of essays such as descriptive, narrative, process, cause and effect and argumentative essay. I have been a student at Milwaukee Area Technical College for 1 semester, and over the course of my enrollment I have grown and learned more that I knew prior to attending this writing course. Participating in this writing class has taught me so much more than stuff about literature and language, it has taught me another way of expressing myself. I have learned here how to write and express myself, how to think for myself, and how to find the answers to the things that I don 't know. Most importantly I have learned how important technique, outlines and organization are. My goal in this paper is to inform writers about how my writing skills have improved.
Writing this class is really a challenge for me.I never thought I would spend so much time writing. This is something I've never had before. However, I will turn the impossible into a possibility in this semester, and I believe I can do it.Because there is a good saying that you don't try to see how you know you can't do it.It is true that I will complete my challenge in this semester and keep moving towards my goal.In the future, my goal is to be a good salesman, and this skill is absolutely indispensable. To convince a person, you have to present your own points of interest and strong empirical evidence that you are right.Writing this class is the best way to strengthen this skill.I want to talk about how I grew up in writing and how much skill I learned.I'm going to tell you what I have encountered in writing and what challenges I have and how I overcame him. There are three challenges that I find difficult. At the beginning, the Internet quotes a strong and powerful argument to support my article with the use of grammar and paragraph architecture.
At the moment, there are only 5 articles available for a 3-star rating, which isn't much. I was wondering, can I apply to any teams at this stage? Are there other ways to find additional work?
My writing has changed a lot throughout the year. Some of my first pieces included lots of redundancies, “th” words, and things that could be changed. In addition, the sentences were not as long as they could have been. These things were brought to my attention by reviewing my writing and using the writing goal sheet. Over the semester, I have learned these little mistakes separate lower level writing from higher level writing. Reviewing my old writing and writing instruction has recently been on my mind while I write essays. They help me to write to the best of my ability. The first sentence of my essay at the beginning of the year is, “I am thirteen years old and I am interested in building and designing things.” This sentence has redundancy
My writing process has drastically changed in the last few months. I am at a point where I still make mistakes, but the fear is gone. Currently coming out of WAC101. The most important thing I have taken away was to write often and then rewrite. This has been extremely beneficial in helping my comfort level, approach, and process to writing. Before I started that class I had a fear to write with constantly questioning every sentence I jotted down, asking myself is it good enough? What will someone say about that? Now, I feel I have the ability to write to a few different audiences with structure and substance. Not saying I am an amazing writer now because I am still far from good.
My earliest memories of reading was when my mom sent me to bible school and the teacher would read out a hand book
While I've not be an academic tutor at SU, I was formerly an editor of the Austin-based music journal ATX On Record (now VinylList). As an editor, my duties included proofreading and editing article submissions, advising writers on how to strengthen their articles, and teaching them how to master the SEO.
After reading your essay, I think you did a good job on this assignment, especially on reasoning your proposition. I like your introduction paragraph the most. By narrating your personal experience with writing, you introduced your problem associated with writing that “writing only for assignments” and made a very good transition from your story to the proposition which clearly stated at the end of your first paragraph “Once I felt that what I had to say was meaningful…I started to enjoy writing more and more for the class”. As a reader, I was told what you are going to say at the next few paragraphs after reading your introduction paragraph and I expected you would say more about why you think that made you enjoy writing. But when I continued
During this second semester, I learned about many techniques that enhanced my writing. I cannot believe that my first year of college is over because it seems like yesterday I attended my first class. I will use this techniques throughout the rest of my life to make my paper stronger and more professional. As I continue to learn I will add techniques I learn in the future to make my writing even stronger. I believe my writing is strong, but can
Doing the inventory exercise, I have learn that I have many style as a writer. According to inventory exercise I am a independent, pragmatic, verbal, rational, abstract style writer. The two ways I would like to improve myself as a writer by using more rational in verbal in my writing. I believe it is important for any student who wants to do their best in a class to take a moment to evaluate their own work to determine the rate their writing is progressing and how they can continue to advance their writing. When I looked through my own work I asked myself “what have I learned this semester?” and “what do I still need to learn in order to improve my writing?”. Answering both these questions will help me with my last step of my self-evaluation, developing a plan to learn new skills.
Throughout the semester, I was asked to summarize, respond to, analyze, and build upon the works of others. The transition from high school English to college English was an obstacle to overcome. Throughout the semester, I was given a multitude of feedback on different pieces to improve my writing. My writing drastically improved from high school to college and will continue to change in the expanse of the semester and the remainder of my college career. Through the feedback of Professor Valley and my Writing Fellow, Emily, I have improved in my writing through including more specific details, stronger vocabulary, improved organization, and being able to better identify problems in my own writing.
