The college I chose for my visit is Arizona State University. When I first walked in with my dad, we were greeted by the tour guides and given folders. The folders had pages of information about ASU and the students that go there. There was an information session before the tour, so we took our seats in the lecture hall. An ASU graduate named Nyesha was the speaker at the informations session. She graduated in 2013 and now works as a tour guide. She gave us some information about the atmosphere of the school, like small class sizes, which I liked. After Nyesha Spoke, a student named Mia came into the room to tell us about her experience at ASU. She just finished her freshman year there, and she is studying microbiology. She is also apart
Several years ago, I went to Pensacola State College, and attempted to register for the Medical Information Coder Biller class, but was unsuccessful. The reason being, I could not provide the college with the proper identification they requested. I am a U.S. citizen born and raised, and I could not understand the process at the time. It took me a while to get my voter’s registration updated, and I did not have a driver’s license. This setback would prevent me from registering for any classes at the college.
Growing up with high expectations my mind has always been set on the idea of college. However when thinking of the “right” college for my future, I never knew If I would be able to fully commit and choose which one was best for me. I wanted something that would be comfortable for me that also meets my criteria that would make the college transition a bit easier. Since I’m going into something new, my decision would end up being based on the class sizes, the costs being affordable, the majors and degrees available for Nursing, and the location and how close it is to my family. It was a hard decision however one school had it all, which is why I’ve decided to further this chapter of my life at West Texas A&M University.
Sonoma State University was first introduced to me a year ago when I went on a tour of SSU with my school. Twenty of us went on a trip to Northern California to see schools such as University of San Francisco, San Francisco State, Holy Names University, UC Berkeley, and of course, Sonoma State University. I fell in love with SSU the minute I stepped on campus, the campus is so full of trees, unlike the desert-style campuses of many Southern California schools near where I live, and amazing buildings that inspire me by just being around them. When I took a tour of SSU, my tour guide was a part of the Hutchins Program, and she was so passionate when she told my group about it. I had never heard of a program that allowed students to get their degree and teaching credential in 4 years, so after that tour I began to research and tour schools with these kinds of programs, and yet none of them have impacted me quite like the Hutchins Program.
In my life, I have had to make made many difficult choices, each with their own consequences, but the most significant choice I made occurred three years ago; I decided to leave my home state of Maine, and enroll in Texas A&M University. This decision has had a major impact on my life, and continues to influence my life today for better and for worse. I've grown to be more independent, but as the same time my debt increases every semester.
In the fall of 2005, I took my first steps onto the campus of Appalachian State University with my sister who was entering as a freshman. One of my most vivid memories from my childhood is walking hand in hand with my then eighteen year old, wide eyed, and prospective sister into the Watauga dorms. Afterwards, as we left down King Street, I distinctly remember gazing back towards the magnificent North Carolina mountains and yearning to stay. Even at the age of five, I knew that one day I would follow in her footsteps and become an Appalachian Mountaineer.
I am Efrashia Nicole Crespin and I was raised here in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I had recently moved to Hobbs, New Mexico and came back to finish my high school career and start at New Mexico State University the following semester. I am majoring in the school of Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management as for short we call it HRTM. I have received numerous scholarships from the university in pursing in bachelors here at New Mexico State. I am grateful for the opportunities the school as offered to me coming from a very low income family.
Waking up at midnight on a cloudy monday night, I walked outside and looked at the moon. Look at how far I have come. Living in hillbilly hick Iowa, to traveling all over the world. Listening to my mother has been one of the greatest things I have ever done. Without her I would have stayed in Iowa and probably married a ugly overweight farmer. Graduating from highschool I decided that I was going to go straight to college and get my masters in Biological Anthropology. Since I already had 20 credits completed at Iowa Central, I decided to stay for one more year. The money I would save would go into my traveling “fund”. Planning on living with my mother still, to me was not a bad decision. She fed me, clothed me, and loved me even though I can
I am currently enrolled in the Middle Level Grades 4-8 online teaching program and I feel comfortable with the online class format. Even though I am approaching my final semester with Stephen F. Austin State University, I do still feel nervous that I might miss an assignment or a due date. I find being disciplined and organized helps in my success with my online classes and the text and email reminders through D2L are extremely helpful in keeping up with due dates for assignments and quizzes. I also like receiving my grades quickly and that I am able to easily contact my professors and receive prompt responses. Utilizing the online program through SFA has made it more convenient for me to complete my bachelor’s degree while working and taking
Time here at Bridgewater has flown by the past four years and it is crazy to think that in five short months I will be graduating. My time here at Bridgewater College has been the best four years of my life but also some of the most difficult. I never forget the memories I have made here through soccer, Cru, and all of my classes. Bridgewater has helped me get closer to achieving my goals of being a physical therapist and becoming a more well-rounded person. I have grown tremendously in my faith because of adversities in school and also through Cru. The Bridgewater community will always be one of my favorites because of the way you grow closer with so many students. I fell more prepared to face the real world and grad school because of how
1. Transitions helped me familiarize myself with the campus. The students who were involved were very helpful and answered any questions I had. The tour of the campus helped me feel more comfortable. Transitions was a great way to meet many other freshmen and faculty. The students made me aware of all the great services available at Minot State University.
Since I got to Texas State University, I have had a lot of busy weekends because I play for the tennis team and we travel a lot. The first tournament we played was here in our tennis complex, and it was a great experience. We played against St Edwards University, and although there were difficult matches and it was very hot, our team got the win.
Ever since my first day on the Evergreen campus, I began to hear the phrase cura personalis everywhere. I heard it in convocation and welcome speeches and found it written throughout admissions pamphlets and even in course syllabi. As a new first-year student, the phrase was introduced to me with the meaning, “care of the whole person.” During my first year at Loyola, I found that there was an abundance of resources and support systems around the Evergreen campus that were there to help students, like myself, navigate collegiate life while nurturing all facets of themselves, including the physical, mental, and emotional. Having been the recipient of these helpful sources, I decided that I wanted to spend my future years at Loyola helping my
Imagine having a relax evening and walking around to explore College Campus with your classmate and professor. Do you like to enroll in one of this classes? I definitely likes it because I can spend times with my classmate and my professor's which can bring our relation more closer. Most professors are intelligence
Interesting that you ask this of the northern states vineyards success. I actually travel to Chautauqua Institute a couple times a year and while you fly into Buffalo, New York, the drive to Chautauqua is lined with miles and miles of vineyards. This is a trip I love to make every chance I get, to see the beauty of this countryside as well as these vineyards, as far as the eye can see. It is wine country with over 50 miles straight of vineyards and, and all feeding off Lake Erie and Chautauqua Lake (“Lake Erie Wine Country” n.d.).
I am interested in attending Appalachian State University because to me Its like a change of scenery from where I'm from Winston Salem. The first time I went to Boone i loved it just a kind small town feeling with mountains and I love The cold. My parents always told me i should go to a place like this because when It could be 30 degrees outside I could still have my fan on in my room because I just didn't think it was cold or wearing shorts in the snow, sometimes they would say I was part Eskimo. I started going to Boone about when i was three when my mom would take me to Tweetsie railroad. the first time I got to experience Appalachian State as a kid who is looking at schools was the summer of 2016 when my dad thought it was a good idea to
