The event that I attended was the Texas State Football game on October 1, 2016 with my mother and sister. The event was held at the Bobcat Stadium. The type of format was casual, fun and surprises. I chose this event because my mother and sister were in San Marcos because of the Family Weekend that occurred. So, they wanted to see the football game because my mother loves football and we really wanted to see if Texas State was going to win. I really liked when Texas State scored, fireworks came out. In addition, the food and music were a treat. I, personally, don’t like when the crowd boos the other team. I get it, we’re trying to win. But making noise isn’t going to help, they’re trained not to listen and win. Also, I didn’t like the language
Have you ever gone to place and felt nervous about going there? Have you ever been unsure of going to a place for fear of not knowing anyone and being an outsider? Well, I had multiple fears when it came to going to the Nebraska Cornhusker Boys State.
. The kansas Jayhawks are way better at basketball than football. My favorite play for them right now would be Frank Mason the Third. He is their point guard. On football for KU i don't really have a favorite player i don’t really watch college football. In NFL my favorite team in the New Orleans Saints. My favorite player for them would be either Mark Ingram or Jimmy Graham. For soccer I don't have a favorite because i don’t watch it. In hockey my favorite team is The Pittsburgh Penguins. My favorite baseball team is the New York Yankees.
It was great talking with you. I always enjoy meeting someone from SC. Plus you are a Gamecock fan like myself. I went to the A&M game last year when they came to town. Hopefully this season is better than the last one.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va.--One loss doesn't define a football season, unless a team lets that loss defeat their hopes and dreams.
I felt like my stomach was going to digest itself It was my first year of flames football we’re getting ready to get our teams picked.I did so bad in pre-season, I’ll probably be on the worst team.
I never really had a true passion for football in my early years of my life. I thought of it as a pointless game where a bunch of giant fat men fought over a brown pointy ball. My dad on the other hand, took football to a whole new level. Spartan football was and still is his life.
It was seventh grade year, I was one of the smallest kids in my grade. My biggest dream at that time was to start on the seventh grade A team as a linebacker. The first day of practice we went to the defensive position that we wanted to play, so therefore I went to the linebacker coach. When I went over there he just laughed at me and told me to go over to the safety coach because I was just to small. So I did and ended up being decent at the position. Thankfully I was able to go to the position on offence that I wanted, which was running back. I ended up starting B team as a safety and a running back.
In 1718 Spanish missionaries founded Texas taking it as a Spanish territory. Many whites started to go to Texas and began to take over. In March 1836 Texans revolted against their Spanish rule and declared their independence from Spain. Texas then became an independent nation, but Texas could not protect themselves from the Spanish attacks. On December 29th, 1845, after almost 10 years of waiting to be accepted into the United states, Texas became part of the United States.
The next factor involved in attending a sporting event is the overall atmosphere which to me is always the best at a college sporting event. While controversial, the Kansas State vs. Kansas game is notorious for a certain chant when the game rolls into Manhattan. Typically, towards the end of the second half of the game the song Sandstorm by Darude is played and a chant of “F*ck KU” rings out from the Kansas State student section. As I have many friends that go to school at K-State this chant is something all the students look forward to as I have even personally heard the chant at football games. While not respectful and flat out wrong, this chant is something that I consider a part of the rivalry. Some may have a very different view on this, but I believe things could be much
The pressure was bearing down on me like nothing I’d ever experienced. My entire year, I thought, hinged on this one debate. My partner and I had put so much work into it, and I couldn’t bear letting him down. Then, everything fell apart as they announced the decision. “Congratulations to both teams for reaching the quarterfinals of the UGA Tournament, it is a 2-1 for the Affirmative from Gulliver.” We had lost. I lost. As soon as those words were delivered, my heart dropped into despair. Never mind that I had reached the quarterfinals, all the work and success that my partner and I had gone through felt erased with that big L.
I look around the field, my teammates all have their eyes on the ball. The crowd gets loud, and the opposing quarterback snaps the ball, I rush back into the open space, and thrash myself into the air and snag the ball. As I take a knee, my teammates go wild, and the win is inevitable. As I return to the sideline, my coach jumps on my back, and throws his clipboard onto the field. As the final seconds burn off the clock, the whole stadium empties onto the field to celebrate the win. As our Palatka County High Panthers continue to rise to the top of the state standings, the pressure around the game has been building for all the guys, and this win relieves a lot of the anxiety.
Beep beep beep! I turn off the Love/Hate machine we call an alarm clock. I put on my away colored football jersey; I get a little ball of excitement and eagerness bouncing around in my body. I run up stairs to get ready for school as I smell the aroma of bacon wafting in the area. I walked out my front door as the cool fall morning air hits my body. I open the wet car door handle to get into my car; I plop on the chilly leather seats, plug the aux cord into my phone and turn on some rap to set the day’s mode. I leave the driveway zooming out with my subwoofers rattling my cars. It’s Friday morning, and that means tonight is Friday morning and that means a long day until Friday night football.
Working on campus in an influential department, such as the undergraduate admissions office at Sam Houston State University, can present a multitude of opportunities to engage personably with prospective students from all walks of life. Like any other ordinary day in the admissions office, I respond to phone, walk-in and email inquiries related to SHSU’s admissions procedures and policies for prospective students. Unbeknown to me, however, this “ordinary day” would be an office visit that I would never forget. I recall meeting a remarkable freshman who had an aspiration to become an attorney and was interested in majoring in political science, but had some reservations. The student explained that at the age of sixteen he was diagnosed with
What excites me about attending Loyola Blakefield is there sports programs. Also, the idea of them preparing me for my attendance, at one of my dream colleges. I attended a tryout on Loyola football field and it felt like I belong there, I am a great athlete, leader, a team player who can contribute to the sports program. From first grade to eighth, I have attended public school. The idea of attending a private all boys school is new to me; but I am ready to take on the challenge at Loyola
Attending The University of Texas has been a dream come true but with that dream came issues. This school year has been exceptionally difficult for me emotionally, academically, and spiritually. The support from my family whether financial or emotional has always been majorly important in my life, last semester that all changed. My family is a single income family in which my father’s income decreased significantly to the point where I had to be fully independent financially. My job that was once for spare change now became my livelihood and became increasingly more time consuming. This event demonstrated to me just how unpredictable the life of an entrepreneur can be even with a proven track record. That lack of security is why I am striving
