My workplace host was Nancy Hale, she is a school principal. I job shadowed her on April 27th, 2018, at Arrowhead Middle School. I was there from 7am to 4pm. Her responsibilities are meeting with parents and students about grades and behavior, managing people and data, supervising instructors, and overall, having complete responsibility of the school and its performance. Being the principal is a lot of work because she is always making weighty decisions and lots of responsibility falls on her shoulders. Days she is extra busy she does not have time for lunch. Being busy is just part of the job. Some of my interests were in running the school games. I liked interacting with the students and solving problems. How close she is to the kids
I played football in high school for all 4 years. My freshmen and sophomore year I wasn't very good. I was a backup and never played. Then came along my junior year, I was still undersized and didn't start but I improved my skill greatly and I started to increase my work ethic. The off-season before my junior year I went hard in the weight room and became strong. I also lost some weight and gained some height. That's hard work in the offseason is what lead to me having a great senior year. My senior year was full of emotion, I felt tired, determined, and at the end of the season I felt sadness with no regret and the love for my brothers. The first thing we had to do to become a great team was build a brotherhood with kids who wanted to try.
My workplace host was Gerald Kuckleman, he is the county attorney. I shadowed him on April 29th, 2017, at the Atchison courthouse. I was with him from 8-12. The things he had to take care of were things like going over court cases and giving legal advice to the judge. That's not the only thing he did, he also has other important roles he takes care of as well. It is important for him to be aware of all the laws and take them into consideration when he's going over there cases. He also looks into people's previous criminal records to help decide punishments, and see if they were productive citizens to the society.
Throughout the course of our lives, we must collaborate with people who may have completely different upbringings and have vastly different belief systems than what we may hold ourselves. One scenario in my life in which I had to collaborate with someone different than me was when I had to work with an overly aggressive football player who was a year younger. He started on the freshmen team but soon became the starting quarterback of the varsity team when he was a sophomore. I was on the JV team and was the backup quarterback both my junior and sophomore year. We came from different social groups, and I worried that we would not get along on or off of the field.
I have a petty theft misdemeanor. I was going through a hard time and was trying to get food for my family. I was given a citation and ordered to pay a fine. I am currently in the process of getting my record expunged. I am a honest hard-worker with a strong work ethic. I am a fast learner and very goal oriented. I work well in teams as well as
Most people would describe me as quiet and laid-back. I would agree with this statement. However, what people don’t see is what goes on behind the scenes. As a result, I believe that my work ethic is what goes unnoticed in my life. During the first half of high school, I was very self-conscious of my physical health. I would always finish last and tire out first during gym class, and was generally unhappy about my appearance. Many of my friends, who were in sports, questioned why I wasn’t on any of the sports teams. The embarrassing truth was that I was just too out of shape and unathletic. I let a lot of this go to my head, and I started feeling ashamed of myself; sort of an odd feeling considering fitness was never a priority in my life.
While some people around me flourish in their athletics, others succeed in their schoolwork. Personally, my most outstanding strength stands as my work ethic. When certain activities do not come naturally for me, I work as hard as possible to get better at them. Multiple instances of this have occurred over the past few years. For example, this year I participated in lacrosse for the first time. I usually spent my time playing soccer, but after a concussion that prevented me from playing again, I decided to give something else a a try. Going into a new sport like lacrosse was initially difficult for me. I had no idea how to play, everyone else had far more advanced skills than I did, and my confidence level started to deflate. I never this project would have such a big impact on me and my co-wworkers. I also did not realize how one project can bring a community more closer than anyone in the community could imagine.
There are many things that sets me apart from other candidates applying to California State University, Long Beach, but one that specifically sets me apart is my work ethic. I have disciplined myself to the point where if my work is not done I am not satisfied with what I have done. Not only have I disciplined myself, but I have been disciplined by my parents to work hard and anything can be achieved if you aren’t afraid to fail and put the effort needed. Without discipline I would not have the grades I have, I would not have the GPA I have, and I would not be able to have the opportunities I have now. I was not the best student at one time, but I wanted to accomplish my goal, which is to be successful. I had to build up my work ethic to be able to achieve this goal.
Caroline, my sister, is the type of person who loves animals and says she wants to save the world. She thinks her jokes are the best, but she’s the only one that laughs. She is always willing to help someone out if they are stuck. She knows how to put a smile on someone's face. Whenever Caroline answers the phone, even if it wakes her from a nap, she always smiles first and then talks. “Because a smile can change any meaning” she always says. She is a 20 year old junior at “UW-Madison for my undergraduate degree in anthropology with certificates in archaeology and classics” (C. Schlinsog, Personal Interview, May 31, 2017). She is very smart, she is taking summer classes so she can graduate early and go on to graduate school. She has a big future ahead of her.
Hi there, I hope you’re doing well. As you may have noticed I haven’t been in class lately. You may also have noticed that my work ethic is getting sloppier by the day and that I’m performing poorly in class. This is because I haven’t been in a very good place emotionally lately. In fact I haven’t been, for a long time. But this past month or two, things have become unmanageable for me. I have seeked professional help, unfortunately, things does not seem to be getting better, anytime soon. I know I should’ve let you know about this sooner, but I was scared and embarrassed to admit that I am not in a good place. I also know, that I should be telling you this in person but I don’t know how. So, instead I’m sending this email to you and to all
I have learnt many skills helping me day with work pouring concrete and laboring for block layers. First let me give you a little background. My dad was worked as a bricklayer since he was sixteen. He has done the same type of work for most of his life, and that's where I come in. My first job was in the summer of 2012 My dad asked me if I wanted to go along and help him with a side job he had going. I said sure and we headed out around nine o'clock. Our first job was to replace a concrete pad and stairs for this house that was up for sale. We had to set up forms for the concrete, and pour it. I learned how to oil up forms so the concrete didn't stick.
Working in retail for the last two years, I had many run-ins of becoming angry and frustrated. I have experienced many frustrating moments working behind customer service.
I did not think that it would be that difficult for children this age to count by 2’s. I saw that they were using their strategy to solve the total of points that they were gathering. Some were putting two sticks for every point while others were putting the actual number 2 all the way down and adding them as they went. I had a few kids write the numbers by 2’s for example 2, 4, 6, etc…. until they got to 20 points. I had a dotted line with the numbers right beside me but they never once looked at it to see what number came next. What I will do is try to make them count by 5’s or 10’s it would probably be more complex than counting by 2’s. I can provide objects that they can use to count and be able to record the information better.
I am the student fellowship coordinator at CBCGB COM. The student fellowship (BSF) is divided in to two big groups: undergrad and grad students. I am mainly responsible for the graduation students group. Within the graduation group, there are five small groups. Each group has two counselors (one group only has one), a group leader, an assistant leader, and at least one co-worker. So we totally have 9 counselors and 15 co-workers. All the counselors and co-workers work together to make sure the Bible study is going well. In the past week, there were two things happened.
My workplace host was Stacey Smith and she is a florist. I job shadowed her on April 29th, 2016. It was at Always Blooming which is her shop. I was there from 9a.m to 4p.m. Her responsibilities are taking orders for customers, making the order like a bouquet, and taking care of finances. She has workers who also help with like delivery and making items for the customers. Having her own business is a lot of work because she has to worry about how to save money and make customers happy. When you are working you never really have a break because you have to answer calls and do things for people. It is important to be ready for anything, there is always something to do.
