Stitched Up “Falling down is an accident, staying down is a choice.” I believe this quote helps me understand the true meaning and purpose of getting back up again. It was a sunny day and my family and I decided to go and play outside in the front yard. So, I decided to ride my scooter and my sister was riding my brothers tricycle. However my other family members were being boring and just sat and watched us in the front yard. I was going super fast up and down the sidewalk. My sister was coming from the opposite side full speed. “Let’s do this.” declared my sister. I was going as fast as a speedy mustang. Well, not really, but you get the point! My sister had already came from that way so I could just go around. But, she I guess thought the EXACT same thing. My break on my scooter had been broken for a while and there was no break on the tricycle. I was going so fast you could barely see the green on my scooter. “WATCH OUT!!!” my dad screeched. I had forgotten to go around her therefore I collided with my sister. “ Well, let’s go back to the ER.” my dad commented. I always had to go to the ER, that’s why everybody calls me “accident prone” and I agree with the name to be honest. I mean, I was always the clumsy one in the family. Anyway, my parents had to wrap my leg up and take me to the ER. At the ER my dad and I …show more content…
My leg was as messed up as DT being president. Eventually, I was able to leave the hospital and go back home, my sister felt pretty bad. But today, she could care less about what happened. “Ashley that was so long ago!” she would complain to me. Although she says those types of things it doesn’t really bother me I mean, after all “ it was so long ago!”. I of course know to always watch where i’m going. From, crossing the street, walking in public,or even when i'm just on my scooter. But now I know the consequences if I don’t watch where i’m
Being a typical 9 year old, I bawled my eyes out. When I moved my arm, it hurt even more. My mom came over to see what all the commotion was all about and I told her what had gone on. I also told her that whenever I moved my arm, it hurt and it felt very weird. She told me we would have to head to the hospital in Columbus to go get an X-Ray to see if it was broken. Thankfully, this was after my older brother’s band’s performance. He came over to us, and my mom told what was about to happen and what we were about to do. He wasn’t happy, to say the least. After about 5 minutes of arguing, my brother lost and my mom took the rest of us to Columbus. As we got into the car, she told me to keep my arm as still as I could, to which I did. We didn’t go to the hospital right away, however, we went to McDonald’s instead to try and make me feel better with some ice cream. It worked, and made me feel glad, even until I got into the hospital. I had never had a broken bone before up until that point in my life, so I didn’t know what to expect. We sat in the waiting room for about 5-10 minutes, until the nurse came into the room to tell us that the doctor was waiting. We got into
It was about 2 hours before we had to leave and I kept going over the jump on that little path and jumped higher and higher every time. Finally one time I drive over to the group by the fire and told my dad to watch me. My plan was to go really fast and get really big air. I went down the path like always. All of the sudden I was in midair thinking “How did I get myself into this.” I felt scared because I was looking at the ground and wasn’t close to landing. I came crashing down on the right front tire and somehow landed back on all four wheels but not before hitting my face on the front rack of the four wheeler. After I landed I didn’t really realize how close I was to going to the hospital and having really bad injuries. I rode back over to my dad and he had the most scared look on his face. I said “Did you see how high I got?!” He looked at me and said, “Don’t ever do that again.” I laughed and asked why. He said, “If mom was here you wouldn’t get back on the four wheeler because you almost just died.” I looked over at the rest of the group and they all shook their heads in agreement with my dad. I was too scared to ever jump that jump ever again. After that big event we stayed for another hour and a half. We packed up and headed home. I was to wore out and I slept all the way home. Once we got home the people that we picked up in the beginning of the day came to our house for chilli that my mom made. At dinner we talked about what we liked and what was the most fun and how I almost died. My mom’s response was, “Good thing I wasn’t there you wouldn’t have gotten back on the four wheeler.” After dinner the other family left with their four wheeler and I went to bed because I was to beat. The
We were waiting in line, I was so scared. Dad said, “Go on the ride it will be fun.” Finally it was our turn when we got on the ride we started going up.¨Are you ready?¨”Dad said. I was not feeling great about doing this. When we hit the top we went straight down everyone was screaming. I was so scared but relieved I did it. The rest of the ride
It was a Saturday afternoon and my sister and I were bored so we decided to race down the driveway. She was on her moped and I was on my ripstik. We started counting down three, two, one, at two Mackenzie cheated and started going down. I intended to jump into the grass, I landed in the middle of the driveway. While I was in the air I came down and landed on my side. My sister came to see what happened, she saw a puddle of blood where my elbow was, she said that it was like a person had dumped a bucket of red kool aid all over the pavement! My toes looked like my little sister creamed a bunch of red lipstick all over them. Also my waist looked like someone took a knife and cut all of the skin off. After this all happened my sister ran
My left elbow hurt very badly and I could feel blood running down my arm. It hurt so badly that I was crying. After a few minutes, I tried to get up, but I made my elbow hurt so badly because I was adding pressure to much pressure to it. Then I bent my elbow to see if it was broken because on the shows my parents watch, the doctors tell the injured people to bend their arms or legs to see if they are broken. Finally, someone noticed me and called Jaci’s mom, Brooke, over.
We had a great plan, we decided to go explore the fourth room of the basement. Once inside we started climbing and playing with the elliptical. I looked over to the treadmill and said to jerry, “I’ve got a great idea. Why don’t we get on the treadmill with only our socks on and run as fast as the treadmill can go and then jump off.” Now jerry was only a year younger than me but he of course thought it was a great idea. So, we each took our shoes of and stood on the treadmill, the treadmill itself was relatively old and was so close to the wall. We stood there not thinking of the consequences of our actions, looked at one another and grinned a big grin. I turned the knob slowly, we started speed walking the running and running faster till we were panting, the knob was on fast burn the fastest setting on the treadmill. Jerry jumped off, me on the other hand tripped over my socks, I fell and the treadmill still on the fasts setting pushed me up against the wall my neck to the back of the treadmill and my legs bent over my head like a contortionist. I screamed and screamed. My cousin sat there in silence watching this horrid event unfold before him, all the color flushed from his body. I screamed and yelled at jerry to go get help as I attempted to reach for
One night I was riding in the car with my cousin to the store. While he’s driving to the store he was speeding down the road. While he was speeding down the road a deer jumped out into the road in front of the car. We tried to dodge the deer, but instead ended up hitting the deer and a ditch. We ended up flipping our whole car into the ditch with the deer. I somehow ended up in the back seat , because I was being stupid enough to ride with him and not wear a seatbelt. But anyways I went to the back seat and just broke his leg and hip. The wreck had my cousin unconscious, so I reached into my pocket and grabbed my phone to call my cousin’s mom. She quickly rushed to where we had the wreck. She pulled
It was the 11th of January and we were going to get a new dog. The road has ice, snow and sleet. I had a headache and I was really tired. It was cold, cloudy, and bright. The ride was like a 4 hour ride because I slept through the whole thing and it was awesome. When I woke it we were still not there. So my mom, brother and I all played car games. When we got there it was loud and it made my head hurt even more than it did before. It was wet and really icy so I had to crawl. My mom asked “What are you doing on the ground.” I said “Crawling so I don’t fall on my butt or my side like I always do. When we went in we saw Peanut. The women said “The reason he has bad back legs is because he was at a puppy mill.” He was funny because he was slipping
The next week we went back there to get all the paperwork filled out. After all of the paperwork was complete, I was the proud owner of my very first car. Little did I know; this car was going to get me into some trouble.
When I fell, I fell on the same big scrape on my knee that had just scabbed over. The cut broke open again and it took even more layers off of my knee. Blood started running down my leg, but I did not notice, so I just kept skimming. When the salty, ocean water splashed on the open cut, I knew that it was way worse than It had been before. I looked down to see how bad it was, and the whole front of my leg was red. I ran up to my mom and she freaked out. “What happened? Are you okay? You need to go wash that off! I’ll go get the lifeguard.” I went up to the shower, where you wash the sand off your feet, to wash off all of the blood. Then I went to the lifeguard to get a bandage. The lifeguard was really nice, but he did not speak very good English. He was from Poland. My mom was sitting next to me and my grandma was on the other side of my mom. My mom was leaning toward taking pictures as usual. My grandma was trying to see him but my mom was in the way. “Down in front woman!” my grandma whispered angrily at my mom. This was the closest my grandma had been to the lifeguard, so she was really happy. After he cleaned my knee, I went back up to the hotel room. I could not shower because my knee was so bad, so I had to use a hotel cup to get the seawater out of my hair. I put my pajamas on and went to the lobby to watch television. My family came to the lobby when it got dark, and we ordered pizza for the seventh
On the 19th of July my life surprisingly changed. I was on my way to a friends house on my board when suddenly i slip back and i lose feeling in my right leg. It felt like falling slow motion as i felt a premonition that something bad was gonna happen. I looked down to see my foot wasn’t facing the right way, then the puddle became to form. I began to lose feeling from my shin and down and panic filled my mind. I rushed to reach for my phone but i couldn’t move. Someone had seen me fall and handed me my phone and tried getting help but i refused. I called my dad and he ironically said, “You’re probably fine, throw some dirt on it and walk it off.” So, i had to tell him once again, my foot isn’t facing the way a foot should face, i need to go to the hospital NOW.
I usually didn’t have a problem with four wheelers. For one thing, I had always wore a helmet, I had never crashed before, and I never thought I would. Suddenly, I find myself driving towards the trees. I lost control of my four wheeler and was about to crash. “Stop, you’re out of control!” I thought to myself, but I was so stunned, I couldn’t even move one muscle
So one day I had a friend named Kahlin Orso. He came over to my house to play for a little while. So after a while we got bored so we went on a fourwheeler ride through a 30 acre grass field. So we were riding along and out of nowhere the frontend just takes a big nose dive into a big creek bed and it got stuck. So we didn’t think it was that big of a deal and we tried to get it unstuck and we tried for about 20 minutes but we didn’t get it so we called Kahlin’s grandma because that's who he was staying with that weekend so we called her for help but she couldn’t help cause she was not at the house. Then I knew if I called my dad we would get in trouble so we tried to get it out for a few more minutes but again we failed.
Have you ever flipped on a bike? Well I have and it was painful, when I flipped off of my bike I was going down a huge steep hill. This story took place on a hot summer day. The people who were on the walk were my mom, my 2 step sisters, my 2 real sisters, and my 2 step brothers, and their mom.
Later that day, my sister and I went to the track at Memorial Park. My sister was teaching me how to bike. In the beginning, I was not happy and really wanted my dad to teach me instead of my sister. I was whining a lot whenever I passed my dad, but he always ignored me. Eventually, I gave up and allowed my sister to teach me how to bike. When I was finally able to ride the bike, my sister and I rode on the track together. We were talking to each other while paying attention to the road because
