Personal Statement: A Career As A Pediatrician

My personality type is ENTJ: ENTJ is someone who’s an extrovert, iNtuitive, thinker, and judger. I think it sort of fits my personality because I am a deep thinker who always thinks of possible sequel events and especially my own future. In most cases, for projects or assignments, I always write out a mini plan or strategize on the steps I need to complete to finish the project in time. I’m also definitely iNtuitive as I can easily tell what someone’s thinking and whether or not they’re lying. I pursue becoming a doctor and a pediatrician is a flexible job that isn’t too stressful or hard. Pediatricians provide medical health care for infants, children, teenagers, and young adults. Their task is to prevent problems before they occur by asking the parents questions about the child’s health needs. They also check a child’s physical and mental growth as well as taking lab tests and examining patients. Pediatricians usually have interests in investigating ideas and thinking. They like to figure out the problem and mentally solve them. They also interest in social as they’re constantly assisting and providing for others. The most important values of a pediatrician are achievement, recognition, relationships, independence, good working conditions, and support from employers. They always seek opportunities to advance and use their research to the best ability. They prefer friendly and peaceful environments and also want fair, useful, and beneficial information from supervisors. The specific work activities are to treat children who have illnesses, health problems, and other medical concerns, examine children to chart growth and development or diagnose conditions, order or perform tests to find out about patients' health, collect, record, and maintain patient medical history and exam results, provide consultation services to other doctors, refer patients to specialists when necessary, prescribe or give medication, therapy, or vaccinations to children, operate on patients to improve their health, supervise nurses and other medical staff, plan and operate medical care programs that benefit children, research and study new ways to prevent or control diseases, prepare medical reports on birth, death, and disease statistics and attend conferences to stay current on medical information.
