I feel that the world will always need people in the medical field. I want to discover cures, medicine, and ways to improve the quality of life. I want to be apart of a major breakthrough and reveal new things no one thought would be possible for a long time. I would love to see several changes in medicine and the field such as the prevention of diseases, making the public more aware of fatalities that can occur, and most of all to give people and animals a life that is enjoyable which people in the medical profession are entitled to do everything possible to make that

It is extremely important for everyone to give back to their communities and I hope I can inspire others to continue their own dreams of being successful. When I become a family physician, I will be able to help many different people and advise them on how to live a healthy life. As one of Jordan’s valedictorians this year, I know how important school is and have always worked diligently to get to where I am today. I am determined and will always continue to push myself to achieve my goals. I never give up and am able to learn from my failures in order to grow and succeed. It has been my goal since beginning in the field of social work to begin addressing some of the disparities surrounding mental health that exist within varying communities. It is common knowledge that communities with a high rates of poverty are not considered a priority when receiving the help that is needed when addressing the mind's health. This is evidenced by the state of the healthcare system that exists within this country. Though healthcare has seen drastic changes over the past few years under the Obama administration, there still remains a gap in care to people who need it.

I would develop an action plan that would improve the quality of care for inpatients and outpatients.

During the spring semester of 2017, I will be enrolled in Supervised Clinical Medicine which will consist of weekly shadowing and service experiences throughout various fields of medicine. I plan to continue my involvement with Antioch Community Church, For The Kids, Brookdale, and Earle Hall Leadership Council. During the months of May and June, I plan to continue shadowing Dr. Connor and babysitting. After my June wedding, I plan to move to Waco and get a short term job in retail or in the service industry. I would like to see myself as both a physician and a scientist, making a difference in the community. I would hope to combine the specialty I choose to be tied in closely with research. Before medical school, I worked full time as a researcher for 3 years and gained invaluable experience. It is because of that I would like to continue with research even after becoming a physician. I would give back to the community as a physician, as well as have a positive impact on the overall health of the community.

I want to be a physician that leads by example and the most valuable way to do that is delivering the best quality care that I can to my patients. To do this will be a challenge in a difficult to navigate and changing healthcare system, but I hope to learn from my own experiences, exposure, and position myself with the best possible support to succeed.

The goal I chose is to live a healthy lifestyle which in terms will add years to my life. In this transformation I chose to eat healthier, exercise more, drink plenty water and add supplements to my personal wellness plan. I will devote a significant amount of time to each area of this wellness plan over the next eight weeks to get the ultimate results. Below are specific goals and a plan of action that I will be doing over the course of eight weeks; in an effort to make lifestyle changes. I will be reviewing the various area of my health deciding which areas I would like to make improvements. My present situation is that I have gained a significant amount of weight that has made my life a little uncomfortable. I started by making a chart to track my plan of action in each area that I will be working on.

As a medical and health social worker, I would act in many of the roles that make becoming a physician fulfilling to me. The most important part of entering the health care field is to care for the health of others, especially those facing barriers to good care. As a social worker I would not be able to directly provide a diagnosis or treatment but I would play a necessary role in helping people access care, whether assisting through navigating the health care system, financial problems, or other barriers. Furthermore, I would still be able to work face to face with patients, provide emotional support and provide the education to help them make important medical decisions. I plan to play as many of these roles as possible as a physician, but

Everyone is unique; each person contributes each of their own ideas into society. People go through experiences that make them decide what career they want to pursue. I went through a life changing experience that changed where I was heading in my life. Additionally, this first semester of college has increased my awareness of health issues and how bridging cultures is a way to minimize mistakes in the health care field. Advances in technology have improved the way people live and communicate. One thing that has not changed much is the fact that patients are not being considered as an important tool to improve the health care system. In reflecting about my self-care, I discovered that with the start of nursing school now is a good time to develop a plan to improve my deficit in task prioritization. This will allow me to see how not prioritizing my tasks can lead to ineffective studying, time management, and stress.
