Firstly, as Napoleon Hill once said "It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed", I want to be able to directly provide support for new undergraduates and help them achieve their academic goals as a senior student. As a person who enjoys learning individuals' studying style and discovering different ways of teaching to help others reach their full potential, I believe that there is no job as rewarding as teaching. The satisfying feeling a teaching assistant can gain from helping students who have trouble learning is truly incomparable. Moreover, being a upperclassmanot only do I want share my amazing experience and advice for the new undergraduates but also as many students may feel intimidating to talk to the professors, I want to become a perfect link between the professor and students as well.

I would like to get my batchlers degree in early education and then becuame a kindergarder teacher, then I would take night classes for my master in elemntrey school counsling. I would love the hands on experience with the children. I like the idea of having college and high school classes togather, the classes will help me keep me on tacke at school.      Preschool is something very important for toddlers. Preschools were established in Europe around the late 1800’s. They were later introduced to the United States in the 1920’s. According to the Encyclopedia of careers and vocational guidance 9th edition “preschools expanded rapidly in the united states during the 1960’s”.

I believe that as an early childhood educator my goal will be to promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child. I also believe that play should be the base of learning since children learn best by doing. I believe that a balance between teacher-directed and child-initiated activities is essential balance can be developed by using the developmentally appropriate practice approach, which means that activities should be “appropriate for each child and relevant to the child’s ability, needs and interests, also including the child’s family and being respectful to the child’s culture.

I have over 20 years with working children from at-risk adolescents, group homes, teacher assisted, and driving a school bus. The 20 plus years working with children, I have learned to be multitask as assisting children with homework, participate with daily activities such as art & craft to playing in/outside sports, and preparing lunch/dinner. I have work at Devereux of Florida, The Grove, and now present employed at Seminole County Public Schools. The skills I have to successfully fill this position is providing Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security for every children. I have chosen to become a teacher because I believe that education is the center of a country’s development process and prosperity. My decision to be a teacher did not come easily to me. This choice was dependent on a reflection about what I was passionate about and how I could make a difference. I have chosen to become a teacher, as I believe teachers have the ability to provide future generations the stimulation for one of the most significant roles in life; to become a lifelong learner. Many teachers that I have had during my education have had a positive impact on my decision to grow and develop the skills that are fundamental to pursue a successful teaching career. According to U.S. Department of Education, Early Education teacher means “any professional working in Early Learning and Development Programs, including but not limited to center-based and family child care providers, infant and toddler specialists, early administrators, Head Start teachers, Early Head Start teachers, preschool and other teachers, teacher assistants, family services staff, and health coordinators.” Some reason why people want to become an early education teacher persist of good education programs, wages/benefits, and the skills people need to have for the job.

The big question teachers ask me throughout my life is “what do you want to be when you grow up?” I never had an answer to that. Going into college I didn’t have a set plan as to what career I would like to pursue. However, I knew that I wanted to work with kids; I originally wanted to be a pediatrician. That career choice was based on my family wanting me to be successful, so I put my passion for working with kids and their passion together. As I began to focus on what I want instead of what others want, I changed my major to Early Childhood Education and chose the path of teaching as my career choice. I have high hopes for this career because teachers are always needed. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics(BLS), the employment rate for my career choice will increase by six percent from 2014 to 2024. In this world, education is valued and will help put people many steps ahead. The reason why I chose to be an elementary teacher is because I want to be able to motivate and inspire my younger generations.
