Personal Statement : My Personal Business

With given a choice of what to write this paper, I could not get past the subtle nature of who we are as God’s creations. This fundamental truth of our identity is simplified with the truth of our identity in Jesus. We are created in God’s image with a purpose here on earth to display all of God’s greatness, His beauty, and to reveal all of His character aspects. Best of all, we are completely dependent on God. This new enlightenment of my identity in Christ as God’s creation will allow me to help people around the world become one with Christ by revealing the truth of their identity.

Pursing a career as a medical doctor is an opportunity for me to mentor youth in underserved populations. As a child, I was raised in the low income, urban community of Roxbury, MA. Although not as notorious today, the neighborhood had garnered negative attention for its high crime rates. My mother emigrated from Haiti and raised me as a single parent. Due to our financial circumstance, Roxbury became our permanent residence. I have always felt there was something lacking in Roxbury in comparison to other towns I visited. My teenage years were largely spent in the suburban town of Stoneham where I attended high school. There was a literal difference in air quality and a psychology contrast in future prospects. There are many careers out there, but my chosen career is business management. I have always wanted to own my own business since I was a child. Owning a restaurant has always been a dream and a passion that I wish to accomplish. I know with the education that I am receiving now and with all of the skills that I have, I will be successful with owning or managing a business. When I get older I want to be able to provide for my family, and that gives me the motivation to strive to be fortune.

My family and I moved to the United States from Peru when I was three years old. Upon moving to the U.S., their initial intentions were to continue their education. However, both did not know English, and were poorly informed on the legal process of migrating permanently. Therefore, unaware of the need to renew their visas, our immigration status became illegal. Despite this, my parents decided to stay because they felt the United States could offer me a better education and opportunities when compared to Peru. Unable to pursue their careers because of immigration status, my parents were forced find employment in construction and babysitting respectively.

I did not file a Federal tax return for the year 2014, because I have not worked during the year. I am retire and my only form of income is Social Security. Since I made no income for the year of any type, I was not required to file an income tax return with the Internal Revenue Service.

In high school, DECA broadened my horizons regarding the business world. It showed me all the different parts of business from hotel administration, to accounting and entrepreneurship. I enjoy the thrill of being able to make a successful business deal. I love pitching ideas and seeing the excitement in judges’ eyes. There was no doubt I became more knowledgeable and interested in the business field.

My first recollection of paid employment was as a paperboy. I remember walking my neighborhood saving money to purchase a bike, with the intention of accelerating my work hours and allowing for an efficient work model. During high school I worked as a counselor at the town summer camp. My work experiences paled in comparison to my peers, as I was absorbed in athletics and most specifically soccer. In retrospect I regret not seeking various forms of employment during my teenage years as I feel that I would have developed a positive identity of work.

Yellow sheets, a menacing term that I once thought would never become a reality, were first presented to me in 2016 in AP Calculus AB and have remained a constant presence throughout my AP Calculus BC and Multivariable Calculus courses. These have a reputation for being the most challenging questions you will ever face in the math classroom during your four years of high school. The yellow sheets were the first form of assessment that I had to complete that focused on my understanding of a concept and not just the memorization of formulas. A guideline will be developed to help new staff be introduced into the workplace, followed by a secondary step of evaluating those staff in the settling-in phase and how to develop strengths. Experienced staff will have training opportunities brought to them and instructions on how to manage and guide casual staff. The recommendation will have meaning behind why each step was put forth and an evaluation of the program inclusive of contingencies will be analysed. The business persons are the most basic human segment of a relationship as just they incite the period of wages and profits thereof. Thusly, their planning and progression becomes more essential for a relationship in the association of its improvement. The Human Resource Department manages this need of an affiliation. They nurture the progression of fragile aptitudes and to keep up these capacities all through their residency.
