There are many reasons why I am here at summer school. Let me just say slacking off shouldn’t be done at school. There are places where doing fun things are allowed and then there are places where fun isn't allowed at . Unfortunately I chose to have fun at school. The reasons why I am attending summer school is because I chose to slack off , I also ditched and I didn’t really understand things in my English class. My first reason on why I am at summer school is that , I didn’t put enough effort into doing my classwork and homework as well as not putting enough effort into doing the makeup work. Laziness was a major contributor to this situation. I plan on changing this by focusing on school when I am at school and save
He continued with, “Students are exhausted and need a break over the summer. Also, many students spend time with extended family.”
A.P classes and colleges both require summer assignments prior to the school year. Considering the courses are difficult, colleges assign tasks over the summer in order for students to develop skills for the school year. This method is effective being the student can adapt to college standards. Because an A.P. course is taught similarly to a college one, they also assign summer work. Students abhor the fact of having to do summer assignments, although it helps overcome the obstacles or difficulties in the near future. For example, according to the author of the article, College Freshman Summer Reading, college summer assignments “help build a sense of community with the incoming class of students” (Lucier). Summer assignments constructs a student’s
My name is Valeska Halamicek and I am in my fourth year at the University of Missouri. I am majoring in psychology with a minor in business administration and I am looking to overcome the startling epidemic that is Summer Brain.
Imagine it is the very end of the school year. The sun is shining brightly and heat courses down on the heads of eager students of Forest Park. Summer vacation is here! Right? A break from the tests, homework, and hard work is finally deserved, right? Maybe not.
My most significant personal achievement would have to be participating in the Kansas University Medical Center (KUMC) Summer Camp. This camp took place in the summer of 2016 and it was 7 weeks. I loved this camp and I was filled with so much knowledge. I got special insight on how some of the careers in the medicine field consist of such as radiologists, nurses, family physicians, and pediatricians. It was very a meaningful experience that I will never forget and I am proud of myself for being able to partake in the meaningful experience. Due to this program, I had become even more intrigued in the idea that a career in medicine was fit for me.
I believe that continuing my education is very important to my future, so I extend learning into my summer vacation. I complete my required summer reading and read numerous other books of my choice. Also I write essays like this to apply for college scholarships and to improve my writing skills. Finally, during my vacation I study for the ACT and the SAT which allows me to improve my scores and
The first summer living in our own home was a time of personal fulfillment. Mom did not approve of the American School System’s three month holiday during the summer, deeming too much unsupervised idle time as an opportunity for Ellen and me to get into mischief while she and Oma worked, therefore, as in the previous two summers, Mom enrolled us in Summer School.
We finally made it to college! Since we are living together, you should know a few things about me.
The other reason I returned to school is to unleash job opportunity. Currently, all hospitals and other health care setting have been looking for four years’ nurse at an entry level. One of my dreams is a job working in hospital as an emergency nurse because I was working emergency room as a health care assistant when I was in nursing school. I’m very impressed with the nurses those who work in a stabilization room in the ER. Since that I have been fascinated to become an emergency nurse, however, the only way it can be done by getting my BSN. Therefore, getting my BSN is the only tools to unlock the door of job opportunity at hospital and no longer stuck in transition care unit.
So I decided to do something that I did not do the first have of the program, embrace the experience. By this I mean that during the first half of the program I would do the bare minimum. I never did any of the extra activities and spent any time I wasn’t working or eating by myself. I always complained and was stubborn about the fact that I didn’t want to be there that I wouldn’t let anybody change my mind. I decided to stop doing that and choose to have fun and that’s what I did. I went to all the activities, never complained, and let myself have fun. This was the final thing that made the second half of that summer one of the best of my life. All it took was me wanting to do it.
I am just a 17 year old boy trying to figure out what I want to do after high school. I honestly don’t have a clue what I want to do for a living. This summer I figured out pretty quickly that I don’t want to do manual labor, because it is not fun. I just want to go to a two year college and figure out what I want to do.
According to J.K. Rowling, “I would like to be remembered as someone who did the best she could with the talent she had”(J.K. Rowling Quotes). Because I want to be remembered as someone who did the best she could, I can relate to J.K. Rowling. I did not mind writing when I was little as long as it was not assigned.
It was summer of 1993. I was looking for a summer job, so I was idly flipping through the newspaper looking for job advertisements. There was the usual; plumber, electrician, bag boy at a local grocery store. But there was one that caught my attention. It was for a night guard position at a pizzeria that I had never heard of before, in the next county over, which would have been about a 25 minute drive. The advertisement was as follows, “Help Wanted. Night Guard position has recently been vacated and looking for a capable replacement. $100.50 a week. Not responsible for harm to personal property.” That last bit really intrigued me, but I figured it was referencing the fact that a robbery was a possibility and that the pizzeria did not want to be held responsible. I decided to apply for the job that same day.
For this school all year to work you would have to give up a galore of your time. In the magazine article it even states, “ Arranging family trips can be difficult too, especially if siblings are on different school schedules.” Not only would you not be given time but you would be losing time too. For example, Football season starts about mid July. You practice five days a week. School every day then going to that harsh practice can take a toll on your body. That’s why you need summer break.
I’ve been looking forward to summer since the first day of school started. Throughout the whole 7th grade school year i’ve been wondering what my family are going to do during the summer. I was happy when school was almost over, but then I got the news. I have summer school, and it was because I have two D’s. Plus the principal told me it was summer school or getting held back and flunking 7th grade. When i got home to tell my mom she said that's sad because my cousins are planning to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain during a weekday during the summer. I had to tell them I can't go and they said ok.
