Having the opportunity to experience training a peer has been an eye opening experience. My client was able to meet with me four times a week for 10 weeks. Also, my client’s commitment made my personal training journey much easier. Prior to the personal training practicum, the only experience I had was helping out coaching with my high school soccer team at Federal Way High, or training a friend here and there during my workouts. Fernando Sanchez was a clean slate to work with; he had no prior workout experience and mainly played soccer. His weight was low for his height and he wanted to gain more muscle so he could have the ability to be stronger and more physical in a normal competitive soccer match. Therefore, the first week of our personal training sessions, I went through a …show more content…
We began with a warm up, followed by the exercises. However, I made sure to limit the delayed onset muscle soreness since it was Fernando’s first time lifting weights in general. Therefore, I focused on lightweights and plenty of reps so Fernando can get used to the exercises and learn how to do the lifts before we can go deeper into the training session. After the first week, we began to lift heavier and heavier. My goal throughout for Fernando was to show him the correct techniques for lifts so he can continue working out without my help after our 10 weeks of training was over. After two to three weeks of lightweights and low reps, we increased the weight and decreased the reps so we could focus on building strength before hypertrophy. Weeks 4-8 were mainly used for strength building through each

The BOC is sponsored or given by the NATA (national athletic trainers association). If you become a part of the NATA, it will open a lot of doors for you, especially if one want would

On my first week beginning my Senior Seminar project I met with Nathan Cox so we could to the pre-test. The pre-test is used to measure growth in each muscle group, tests include: push-ups, leg press, preacher curls, cable tricep pushdowns, weighted planks, machine shoulder press, and barbell deadlifts. Cox also took my waist, chest, bicep, thigh, and calf measurements so we can compare them at the end of the program. Cox gave me a list of workouts to do on the days when I go to the gym without him there. I worked on shoulders and abs with Cox’s guidance, we did Barbell Punches (3 sets with increased weight and decreased reps), and two Tri-sets of: Leg Raises (15 reps), Weighted Sit-ups (15 reps at 10 lbs), and Russian Twists (20 seconds with 10 lbs).
My research will enhance the relationship between academia and public safety organizations encouraging evidenced based policing practices.
Purposeful movement of an upper limb can be difficult for many individuals with post-stroke functional limitations such as hemiparesis. Due to the level of disability caused by stroke, researchers have investigated rehabilitation protocols such as unilateral and bilateral training, and the benefits of each in expediting progress towards recovery. Neurophysiological mechanisms were studied, analyzing the effects of unilateral training, bilateral training, and a combination of the two and their effect on the brain. Participants of the studies varied widely. However,
Taking this course has taught me to be extremely dedicated and disciplined in my personal fitness, I have also learned the importance of exercising in moderation and using proper technique for maximum effect. I have also learned how important it is for me to stay in shape and how to do so in a healthy manner. Prior to taking this course, I had had an accident while weightlifting due to exercising too frequently and suffered a temporary shoulder injury that caused me to stop exercising for months. At the start of this course I had set a goal to regain my strength and be able to bench press the weight I could previously. I managed to meet this goal and have since surpassed my former strength. While I was constructing my own exercise program
On the seventh week, I felt more exhausted than ever before. My body is subjected to the constant increase of the work load, which keeps my muscles under pressure all the time. However, knowing that only two weeks are left until accomplishing my goal makes me push myself harder. Even though some of the exercises are easier to perform for me than others, I succeeded to increase the intensity for most of them, except the Dumbbell Shoulder Press. Interestingly, by the seventh week, for some of the exercises I reached the aimed number of weight. For example, in addition to the Triceps Pushdown with Cable exercise, the exercises such as Lat Pull down, Front Raise, Arm Kettlebell Swings and, finally, Dumbbell Kickbacks reached the desirable weight, meaning that I partially
A personal trainer pushes an athlete to do beyond their expectations and get better. Personal trainers also focus on other things too. Every client that a trainer works with will probably have different goals, expectations, opinions, and medical problems. Getting the client to their goal is not the job, pushing the clients to their best is the only goal. The athlete can’t cheat themselves because a good personal trainer will motivate them to push through it. Most personal trainers change people’s lives and make them better them healthier, better, and stronger. No matter who or what the trainer will always find a way to help you reach beyond your goal for the better. Personal trainers sometimes focus on getting one part of your body stronger

As the world continues to diversify, schools and organizations are charged with addressing discrimination issues in hiring practices. During the Civil Rights era, discrimination was seen as a black and white issue. Today, the face of discrimination looks different and has many facets. In other words, the customary way of living and doing business no longer exists. One's beliefs, values, and practices are being challenged from every angle. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the study of 106 students who participated in an experiment to hire a personal trainer for a fitness organization. The experiment investigated whether the applicant’s sexual orientation and/or gender affected their selection for the personal trainer position. Although
