How much better would you feel if your role model openly came out gay? In some point of our lives being gay will no longer matter, I believe this time is coming soon. Role models are a huge part in how their fans see themselves. Not a lot of athletes come out openly gay because they fear the results of everyone around them. Take chances and realize you can never be punished forever for just being yourself. Being a gay athlete is okay, it may not be right now to the public but eventually everyone will accept it. Role models are a huge part in how their fans seem themselves. Fans look up to how their role models behave. If athletes are afraid, their fans will be afraid. Demonstrate confidence and leadership, everyone likes a person that’s always happy with their achievements but continues to be better everyday. Never be afraid to be unique, whatever you choose to do in life be proud of the person you have became. Show respect to others. When you listen to your role model or witness their success this can give you a different outlook when trying to solve the problems you’re dealing with. Having a good role model may change your outlook on certain issues, and that may change you entirely. If you chose a good role model who struggled with the same problems that you have had to deal with, or had similar obstacles in their life, then chances are they will provide you with the answers to your problems. Or if nothing else give you a different approach to look at.You will try to
Would you want your whole career ruined due to a mistake? Professional athletes more than likely label as the “Golden Children” and are expected to never do anything wrong. These athletes are the one’s little kids and young athletes look up to and aspire to be. One mistake and this can all go away. Everyone makes mistakes, but professional athletes take the fall harder due to their fame and fortune. Although professional athletes are in the public eye, their career should not be ruined due to crimes people commit every day because, underneath all the fame and fortune, they are just regular people.
Self confidence is the foundation of success, achievement, and happiness. Unfortunately, the foundation of self confidence can become shaky and unstable if someone that you look up to as a role model hurts your self esteem and courage. One of the biggest role models in my life used to be my first club soccer coach. He seemed brilliant, passionate, and willing to work with my team. This man soon became the complete opposite of what I hoped he would be. I soon realized that he was a two faced liar and one of the most awful people I have ever met. Little did my ten year old self know he would be the downfall of my self confidence and he would slowly destroy any passion I had for the sport I loved all with only a few words.
Parents often have concerns for how coaches treat their young athletes, but most coaches are the best character role models that a child will have. As David Brooks, author of the article “Organized Sports Can Benefit Children”, says “Coaches have become the leading moral instructors in America today.” (Brooks). Groups like The Positive Coaching Alliance exist solely to keep coaches doing their job of creating mature and respectful athletes (Positive). Children need these positive role models in their lives. Even if a child has great role models as parents, it is even better to have one outside of the family. A coach can serve as someone that kids should admire, love, and respect even though they are outside of their family; this will prepare children for their future of dealing with
Homophobia is a problem that has been around for decades. With the right education and understanding, homophobia could be eliminated. Homophobia is the “fear” or hate for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people. Homosexuals are looked down upon in a lot of places around the United States and they are treated disrespectfully and they deserve the same rights that heterosexuals have.
She looks into her eyes and smiles, leans in and whispers quietly “I love you” while pulling her in forcefully for an embracing hug. “Are you ready to go” she repeats as she grabs her girlfriends coat and proceeds to the door. Finally, after numerous times of asking, her girlfriend agrees, twists the doorknob and walks out. They have only taken a few steps out of the safety of their own home when the hurtful words start to pour in. Feeling embarrassed, tears start rolling down her face. She immediately turns around and goes back inside. Sadly, this is the reality for many. We live in a world so hateful, that some would rather die than be who they are. A world in which people get belittled for who they love, and have basic rights taken right out of their hands. Gay rights are human rights. No matter who you are as a person, who you love, or who you associate yourself with you deserve to be respected. Gay marriage has no effect on the heterosexual community, civil unions are not the same as marriage, and successful adoptions will happen more frequently.
Gay rights has been a problem since ever and still is. People do not get the right they deserve with same sex rights.Reasons why they should be able to do what they want is because if you don’t then it's a version of discrimination, it’s against the constitution and violates their rights. Gay marriage is a problem because people are not getting the rights they want, and they are not being equal to the constitution. This also has a effect on people everywhere in the world. We can solve this by doing protest and other things that can help the them.
As the fight for equal rights of LGBT+ community is becoming bigger and bigger, many people are wondering whether they can succeed or not. Thousands of haters oppose their rights and even their existence everyday and everywhere. However, they do not give up, and with the help of supporters all around the world, they will soon become accepted widely. All difficulties will have their own solutions, and numerous solutions has been listed out to help. At first, the responsibity belonged to the governments, they must consider carefully to legalize laws for same-sex couples by preparing campaigns to persuade and educate people in the country. A good example is Obama – the former president of America, who always support LGBT+ community. "This ruling
This is a question that has been asked by coaches and athletes for years Am I a Role Model? I would say yes, just because anytime a person is place in a position of authority they have the power of influencing people, they might not think they do but they do. There are no set of rules that a person goes by to be consider a role model, is it the way they carry themselves and how they treat others. Being a role model for other athletes to follow should be something that all coaches and athletes seek, but there are athletes the think they are not role models. This might be true to a certain stance, but when athletes say they want to be like you, you have an unwritten guideline to follow so I believe that you should try and show them the right way.
Marriage could be a simply agreement between two consenting adults that are ready to commitment to one another. I’m sorry to say this but, marriage doesn't work in such a simple way like that. It is a civil institution authorized by the government that brings certain rights, privileges, and statuses. This is what makes marriage itself a political issue. The LGBT community just wants to be able to have the same status in society as every other married couple. Marriage overall is a political issue because it is endorsed by the government with certain privileges. Second, politics is all about freedom and equality after all. Gay marriage should be allowed because everyone should have the same right to marry the people that they love after all you can’t choose the people you fall in love with you can’t choose your sexuality and you can’t change that no matter what people say or want they do.
My parents, brothers, and sisters will always be my role models. Thanks to them I joined sports. At the young age of four sports became apart of my lifestyle. All of my siblings have played sports up until they were a senior in high school. We all started off by playing tee ball and basketball throughout elementary and then choose our own sports after that. My sister Elizabeth took the cheerleading path; meanwhile, my sister Maria choose Volleyball. I was always closer to my brothers since they are more similar to my age. As a consequence, not only did I play with action figurines, and wear hand me down jerseys as outfits but i played baseball, softball, flag football, and wrestled. I also rocked the number three on the back of my jersey just as they did.
Catherine Hoffman and Matt Stevens both argue for gay marriage, but interestingly enough, they argue it in two very different ways. Their appeals are both similar in the sense that ethos is used, while they are contrasted through the way they present their ethos and what point of view they argue from. The primary method used for both posts would be an argument.
Homosexuality has been a theme of much worry for debaters everywhere throughout the world. Despite the fact that the idea of homosexuality and the activities required with it are not new and it has been drilled everywhere throughout the world all through different phases of our history, individuals still discover it a general thought hard to acknowledge. Many individuals disdain upon the thoughts and view gay people as oddities of nature. This can't be further from reality since it has been watched that numerous types of different creatures, for example, certain types of reindeer and dolphins, likewise display gay conduct. Along these lines, homosexuality is an exceptionally regular thing and it ought not be confined as it is in many spots and gay relational unions ought to be permitted. Despite the fact that many states in the United States have totally sanctioned gay/lesbian relational unions and numerous others are running comparable suits, there are as yet numerous who contradict them. In the event that gay/lesbian relational unions were to be permitted in each state, it would achieve an extremely noteworthy change in our way of life and society.
Gay marriage is not only gross and disgusting to me,but to almost every person I know. gay marriage is the problem with America to this day,it causes a great number of society issues in the whole world,as me being a Christian I can only believe that it should not only be illegal but also be a sin. Gay marriage has affected my life very much because it makes me very cringe and mad. Being gay is not cool or satisfying, throughout these years I've noticed how most gay people have so much hate against America and the military because all they talk about is how America is horrible the way they treat gay people and how America reacts to it. I don't understand there option one bit. I believe that gay marriage should not only be illegal but it should be a shame to show your face. The fact gay marriage stands in America makes me sick. Another thing that ticks me off about it is the whole gay flag stuff, they want to change the American flag to a rainbow styled flag because of there believe. That makes it only fair that gay people should not be able to live in America. It also proved a point got straight people to have the right to tell them to leave the country when they wanna change the style of the flag.
Would you care if two homosexuals were getting married? Why does it matter what others think about their love life? Who are we to be the judge of how they live their life? Did you know that same-sex marriage was allowed because the U.S. Supreme Court decided to go along the fourteenth amendment? I believe that the next amendment should about the marriage equality act. I have an opinion that a lot of Christian people wouldn’t have when coming upon this topic.
People should be able to marry whomever they want and they shouldn't have the fear to be judged and have the same rights of everybody else becasue they are people just like us. Gay marriage has affected the country in many ways. It was legalized just two years ago by the Supreme Court ruling it (www.theatlantic.com). I chose this topic because people should do what they want and marry who they want so they have the same rights as everybody else. There was 14 states that did not allow gay marriage before it was legalized but when the supreme court legalized it, they're forced to let them marry whoever they want. Gay marriage has tried to become legalized since the 1970s and in 2015 the supreme court legalized gay marriage. By the supreme court legalizing gay marriage it has affected less than 100 couples. Mayors in California and New York have defied their state laws and begun marrying gay couples. Federal lawmakers are debating whether to try to pass an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would define marriage as between a man and a woman and protect states from having to recognize gay couples married in states that allow gay marriage.
