Driver’s Education courses are important for a new driver. Drivers Education is proven to help young driver’s become familiar with driving and to learn important defensive driving techniques. Our mission at Greenbrier High School should be to incorporate a Driver’s Education course into the curriculum for their students. All 50 states prohibit 16-year-olds from drinking alcohol, buying cigarettes, and purchasing handguns. Yet somehow, most states are willing to put them in charge of a car. Teens don’t realize how dangerous driving can be; they believe nothing could ever happen to them. In reality, facts show that driving is the number one killer of teens. At 16 or 17, you may feel invincible, but with a lack of driving experience and distractions such as cell phones, music, food, and even friends, driving can be a dangerous activity. The problem is that teens don’t see certain actions as a life threatening risk. In a recent study, only 28 percent said using a cell phone is a risk while driving, ten percent said the same about having other teens in the car,
Distracted driving poses an immense problem across the United States, and the issue only seems to continue growing. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), “In 2015 alone, 3,477 people were killed” in cases involving distracted driving, and of those killed, “teens were the largest age group reported as distracted at the time of fatal crashes” (“Distracted Driving”, n.d.). These terrifying statistics cannot be ignored. Distracted driving is a national epidemic, and unless society addresses the problem properly and efficiently, the risky driving behavior will continue to plague our streets, endangering peoples’ lives and leading to more fatalities.
My best friend will likely be the death of me, but I still love her. I have known her for three years and would trust her with anything, or so I thought. Everything changed the moment she got her license. Suddenly the need for coffee was completely eliminated, and all I had to do was ride to school with her. Through many close encounters and two accidents so far, I have learned the definition of a terrible driver. Every ride with her is an adventure involving skipped stop signs, speeding, and near collisions. She is the reason why many adults believe that teenagers should not their license because of poor driving.
Do you know how long it takes into you get your license ? At the age of sixty without driver education you have to wait 270 days to take the test and you have to have so many hours driving with a parent. It takes six months before you can take your driver license test . But ,if you have successfully completed an approved driver education program you can get it sooner . I don’t think that’s fair . Anderson needs to change the policy to make it easier to get a driver license .
I lost a relative in a car crash. Can you imagine how I felt when I found out? He wasn’t wearing his seatbelt and was thrown off the road through the windshield. Car companies should start making cars that require everybody in the vehicle buckled up or else the car won’t start. Wearing a seatbelt reduces the chances of injury, also the law requires you to wear a seatbelt.
Have you ever had a time when driving where there is a person who doesn't know what they are doing and they almost hit you? And when you go up to to see what in the world they were thinking you see them on their phone not paying any attention to the road or how they are driving. If so then you are definitely not the only one. Every year thousands of people lose their lives as a result of reckless drivers on the road. Many of the people responsible for these accidents say that they were distracted by either their phones or some other form of technology. Nowadays people are so consumed with their social lives and what's going on social media, that they feel the need to check these things at the wrong times. More specifically when they are driving. Distracted driving should be stopped because it takes the life of thousands of people every year. Distractions while driving is the result of the majority of car accidents and it is a direct violation of the law.
Distracted driving is defined as engaging in any other activity while driving a vehicle, including using a cell phone or some other electronic device. Statistics released by the federal government paint a grim picture as more than 3,100 people were killed and another 424,000 were injured in 2013, the most recent year such data was available. The individual states enact and oversee motor vehicle laws, thus the following distracted driving laws should always be kept in mind.
Daily, thousands of accidents are occurring around the world due to distracted drivers. Scientifically proven, distracted driving is almost, if not worse, equivalent to drunk driving. Drunk driving is illegal therefore the use of cellphones while driving should also be illegal and not permitted. There are far too many innocent deaths caused from irresponsible drivers that are selfish to others on the road. Every driver has the opportunity to make their own decision, life, or simple yet life changing, a text. Virginia recently enforced the law of cell phones not being permitted while driving; many have not realized this enforcement. Normally, police officers will not pull someone
texting while stopped at a traffic light; the law was previously meant to stop phones from

If you live in the U.S., there's a 48 in 50 chance that your state requires you to have car insurance (New Hampshire and Wisconsin are the lone hold outs, for those wondering). Of course, knowing that you need car insurance is only the first step. Navigating providers, comparing cheap car insurance quotes, and choosing specific coverage comes next.
Teens need to be taught that driving is a task that is complex and demanding. Parents know how much experience a young driver has, and they know exactly how inconvenient it is when they have to drive with their teen everywhere while they have their permit. Teens tend to cause most traffic accidents in adults’ eyes. They are not experienced yet, and often fail to pay attention to others on the road. They often think of a car as being some type of toy, but they do not know how powerful it really is. The driver education programs must be strengthened in order to make sure that students really have safer habits, behind the wheel experience, and by having a better understanding of all the laws on the road.
It’s a dark rainy night. You and your family are coming home from a late night family party. As a car is coming through an intersection another car cut in front of it. The driver decides to hit the brakes so you can avoid the car, but as he presses the brakes, the car loses control on the slick wet road. He is not able to gain control and at that point he has endangered the lives of himself and many others on the road. This is just one example of the many types of things that occur in our streets everyday. All that would have been needed to avoid this situation would have been a traction control system in his car, which would have detected that the car was skidding and would have applied the brakes to
A car is a purchase any parent will have to face at some point down the road but, finding the most affordable and durable option can be tricky. Most will put the research aside and let the internet, or car salesperson, tell them which car is best but that does not mean it is best suited for them. After careful research, comparisons, and consideration towards three different cars, a Jeep Cherokee, Nissan Rogue, and Honda CR-V, teens will be able to make the most responsible purchase and parents will be left at ease with their child’s decision. A teen will want to work with his or her parents to find a car with the best fuel economy, lowest scheduled payments, and best safety ratings.
