Going to Preschool Preparing a child for school is a job that is very important and should not be taken lightly. Children will better transition in kindergarten if the child has a foundation of what is needed to adapt well in kindergarten. For example, for the first few years a child has been carefully nurtured and probably has spent most of his or her time only exploring environments where their mother or father were nearby. Preschool helps children to better explore socially and strengthen cognitive skills to learn shapes and express what they have learned. So, before I attend a preschool session with a director, I would simply began to research. By doing this, I will carefully get a good understanding of my child and the preschool that I potentially see, as an option for my child to attend. …show more content…
The environment or setting is essential to me because, I believe that children and adults can be influenced by our environment. To be more specific, the facility must be fun, friendly, and clean. I would like to trust that the staff are encouraging a friendly environment, where kids are learning and all kids are treated nicely and fairly. However, I would also like to trust the staff to set a standard of an environment that is disciplinary. Even at preschool age, children can learn bad habitats from other kids or even worse an adult, whom character does not set an example for the children to learn from. In addition, if my child is caught misbehaving of any sort, I would respect staff, to appropriately redirect my child from what he or she did, and teach them to do better next
Many of my school friends have tried to argue the point that school should start later. All of those friends for which only added their opinion and failed to use scientific information and lost their argument. not only does it have to do with adolescence, but mental health in teens, and educationally. and I heard of puberty? shouldn't our parents, teachers and other people who wake us up at the crack of dawn care if we succeed.
Along with knowing the purpose of quality daycare/child care facilities, the next important factor is to be aware of what generates a high quality daycare/child care facility. It is vital to know the characteristics because these prime objectives are the driving forces influenced by what children need in order to succeed and grow in their developmental skills. Fundamentally, “High quality [preschool] education can support early development in ways that yield long term social, cognitive and emotional benefits” (Barnett 2005, p1). The most essential aspect of a high quality facility are the trained, certified and attentive teachers hired to support children’s developmental needs. They ensure this by respectful interaction,
For years flocks of children have gotten up at the crack of dawn and gone to the brick building to sit at their desks for eight hours straight, but now a very effective style of school called homeschooling has emerged. Most of todays parents have gone to a public school because homeschooling was not very well known back when they were school aged. Since then, homeschooling has become much more popular and has been proven to be effective. Parents should consider homeschooling their kids as an alternative to sending them to a public school.
In my opinion, babysitting is very beneficial to pretty much anyone. I recommend that everyone try babysitting at least once in their lifetime, because of all the rewards you can get from it. First, usually for babysitting, you are presented with payment for your services. The more children you have and the longer you babysit usually ties into the more money you will receive. Second, babysitting can teach you valuable life lessons. It can prepare you for children of your own, get you ready for a career in childcare or child development, and overall, it’s loads of fun.
Safety and Suitability of premises: It is a requirement that there are suitably qualified people on site and that the ratio of staff is appropriate for safety of all children. It is also important to have safeguarding policies updated at all times, staff are encouraged to read all policies and procedures and adhere to them. Lastly, making sure that the locations, environment and equipment are suitable for the children including outdoor and indoor spaces, furniture, equipment and toys, according to age/ stage.
Housework, helping kids with homework, cooking, and the cries of a needy newborn. This is mom life. We're desperately trying to fulfill everyone's needs, bond with our new babies, and still maintain some semblance of our sanity.
The question, when should school start has become a very controversial topic over the course of the last few years. Many schools are considering changing school start times to a later time, or have already implemented later start times in middle and high schools. Parents, students, and educators have had mixed responses toward this change. Students are coming to school sleep deprived, and many people feel the answer to this is changing the schedules. Starting school later is not beneficial because many students will not be receiving any extra sleep and this change would only complicate schedules for sports and parents.
According to Centers For Disease Control and prevention they say “Starting school later can help adolescents get enough sleep and improve their health, academic performance and quality of life”.Valley view should start later because students and staff can get more sleep, students and staff can get to school and not be late, also so they have time in the morning to get ready.
Have you ever been exhausted in the morning and feel like you needed more sleep or that you can’t get up? Schools should make sure their students are well rested and ready for a long day of school. School should start later in the morning so students can get a full nine plus hours of sleep. Students will be more aware and alert which will help them learn. Also teachers will also be more awake and in better moods Just like us. Schools should start later in the morning in order for students and teachers to have better concentration, energy, and attitudes.
Do you ever feel really tired before school? I know I do. But if you think we get up early. Some kids have to wake up at 4:00 in the morning! This is why I think we should start school later. Kids do better awake, kids become pathologically sleepy, and kids feel stressed in the morning.
ENVIRONMENT- Early years learning framework promotes learning environment for children. This fits really well with the Reggio Emilio approach that demonstrates environment as a third teacher (Carter, 2007). For example; through imaginary play, children play different characters what they want to be. Piaget states that real world sets up with limitation, but to a world of imagination. Our program should be based on create and maintain safe, healthy environment, spaces and places which enhance children’s learning, development, engagement, initiative, self-respect, dignity and show respect for children’s contribution in play ( being, belonging, becoming; outcome -4). Educators always ensure that children get safe environment for example, if there is anything sharp or broken, throw these things away or let the director know if there is anything broken need to be fixed by handyman and complete daily checklist (centre policy, 2016) to remove hazards away from the environment. Check doors, gates, locks and furniture regularly. A chemical which is used for cleaning and hygiene purpose, store them out of children’s reach with master data sheet and let management know if there is any reaction from chemical and if there is wet floor put a WET FLOOR sign on. Environment for staff should be safe and secure also, for example to change nappies there should be stairs for children to climb
With today\'s high tech world of handheld mobile devices, video games, affordable giant TV\'s and other gadgets it would be hard to convince a kid that there is a world out there beyond their screens. Years ago children yearned to be outside and to explore everything nature has to offer. Research over the years has not only shown that kids used to love being outdoors, but they were healthier because of it. Getting kids outside can be a challenge today, but it will be worth it when they realize being outside can be a lot of fun. This infographic takes a look at some of the research that proves that outdoor play is incredibly beneficial to the development of a child and explains why they should get outdoors as often as possible. There are also
School should start no earlier than 9 am and end no later than 3 pm. The idea from the CDC is that if we start school later in the morning that student will improve both physically and academically. Studies show that lack of sleep can lead to obesity, depression, poor motor skills, and just an overall lower quality of life. Getting enough sleep is important for students’ health, safety, and overall performance but early school start times are preventing many students from the sleep they need. If students aren’t getting enough sleep then they are more likely to fall asleep in class and do horribly academically. Of course there are a few cons to all the pros of starting school later such as the expenses to shift the bus schedules, interfering
The design of the preschool is a starting point of how a child views a school classroom. When a child walks in an unknown classroom for the very first time, not knowing what to expect from a room full of unknown things and people. A preschool classroom is the child’s first interaction with what a school is and experience of what a school is supposed to be like.
