Let’s take a shot at Gun Control It is human nature for people to fight for what they believe in, and for some the debate about firearm ownership is a battle worth fighting. Lately In the United States of America, some controversy has arisen over the idea of gun control and laws enforcing tighter rules on weaponry. There are two split sides. The ones who support the idea of gun control and those who oppose the gun restriction laws. People who support gun control laws believe that the laws will help prevent gun violence, whereas those who are against the laws want to protect themselves and their belongings. Numerous citizens have ideals that firearms should have stricter restrictions for safety reasons. A main issue currently going on being the ever increasing active shootings, where people use guns and bombs to very purposefully hurt others or themselves. With this violence being present, many believe there should be some stricter laws being enforced so that they can prevent others from being hurt. Families of fallen or injured citizens play a big role in people speaking on gun control. Gun control activist, Tom Mauser blames the American attachment to firearms. His son, Daniel Mauser, was killed in the Columbine shooting in 1999, and Tom says that if the USA had stricter gun control policies like European countries, there would be less violence (Merino). In addition around 30,000 people die each year due to gun violence (Gonzales) and many are determined to decrease
