Immigrants are individuals who are trying to improve their life styles for their families within the economy, escape prosecution of gangs, and looking for more in their future. Everyone should have a chance to stay in the United States of America since we are all immigrants. We all travel from all different countries to make the U.S. what is today. Immigrants are not just people trying to take jobs like many say or criminals that the news makes it seem. Each individual has a story to tell. Some are just like you and me or children that are like our little brothers or sisters. Some are women and men like our mothers and fathers that give their life for the best of their

However, Americans view the immigrants differently from what they are. Some Americans view the immigrants with different stereotypes such as being lazy system abusers, dangerous criminals, and job thieves, just to name a few. However, these stereotypes are not true and does not represent the majority of immigrant. In actuality, immigrants are very disciplined, hard workers whom are also highly motivated opportunity chasers, where in these ways they should and need to be viewed by Americans.

Illegal immigration has become more of an important issue in the United States since Donald Trump’s campaign for president in 2016. Immigration can be known as the act of people crossing national borders to live permanently in other countries. It becomes illegal when they cross those borders without the legal right to be in those countries. The U.S. has been an immigrant country since the pilgrims in the 1600s and has ever since, been diverse. Most of the immigrants are Latinos that come from Central America, but they also come from all over the world. The current path to legal citizenship is flawed and needs to be reformed to allow rights to be upheld, equal and fair treatment of all applicants, and to facilitate the process altogether.

I will start my presentation with a depiction of what legal and illegal immigration encompass. After, I will talk about the impacts of immigration on America. I will finalize my presentation with the current government actions that are changing the immigration system.

My side in this DACA situation is that is wrong that President Trump took away and canceled the DACA program. If he was not okay with it, he could have just left it the way that it was and he just shouldn’t have expanded the program into wider programs. These people that are doing the best that they can at school are the dreamers that know that their opportunities grew and that their dreams came true but just like that Trump did not care and took it all away. They should have the same opportunity as we do to be able to go to school so they can have a good job, or even work and they produce a lot of work for this country. For example, the person that can save your life one day can be a dreamer that was able to study and become a doctor. The next person that can clean your teeth the next time that your visit a dentist office can be a dreamer. The time your house is on fire and a firefighter comes to the rescue can be a dreamer. Let's not discriminate these people that are not that different from us. The only difference that we portray is the fact that some of us were born here in the United States and these people were born in a different county. Just because of that, we should not put them aside and treat them differently.

In 2015 there were 65.3 million people forcibly displaced from their homes because of conflict and persecution. Developing countries hold 84% of refugees while wealthier countries like Australia prioritise the need to reduce asylum seekers within their borders. The current policy contravenes the proper treatment of refugees and asylum seekers; because regardless of their mode of entry, once here Australia has a duty to provide protection.
