Let’s face it, bodybuilding is very much a sport which places a huge emphasis on sacrifice, as in reality, bodybuilding isn’t so much a sport at all, but rather an entire lifestyle and a way of life. For people who think that bodybuilding is simply about spending an hour or so in the gym a few times each week, the reality of things is very different indeed. Bodybuilders constantly have to watch not only what they eat, but when they eat as well.
They can’t simply head out to the club with their friends, or for a meal whenever they like, especially if they’re training for a competition. Even what they drink has a huge effect on their physiques, particularly where alcohol is concerned. Unfortunately, alcohol and bodybuilding just do not go together, as alcohol is extremely detrimental not only to a person’s physique, but also to their training as well. Generally speaking, alcohol and bodybuilding should be kept as far away from each other as possible, and here’s a look at why that is.

When we eat food, the food of course contains calories, which are units of energy that fuel our bodies. These calories, however, are predominantly found in vital micronutrients which are: protein, carbohydrates, and fats. Even when we eat a double cheeseburger and fries, the calories, as unhealthy as they are, still help us to meet our macronutrient goals as the foods contain proteins, and fats, and carbohydrates, which our bodies need. Alcohol however, contains twice as many calories as proteins and carbohydrates, and offers very little in return. On top of that, as it is in liquid form, the calories are absorbed quickly, which can lead to increases in body fat storage. Alcohol contains twice as many calories, so we consume more, and very little nutritional value in the
As I came down the hallway towards the Athletic Training Room my senses were overwhelmed with the smell of stinky feet, antiseptic, and for some reason someone 's lunch. As I stepped over the threshold into the Training Room my ears immediately picked up twenty different conversations all going at once, the sound of electrotherapy machines, and athletic trainers taping. My senses were all being overthrown as I sat and observed my Athletic Training Room instead of working. Watching this mayhem unfold, basking in the beauty of mass chaos that in some sense was uniform. Athletic training rooms often put a sick feeling in athletes’ stomachs. They fear that to come in to let an Athletic Trainer know about an injury automatically means they will

Alcohol is another thing that can lead you to obesity. Alcohol has high calories in them and when you drink alcohol your body will be in a relaxed mode. It is easier for them to eat unhealthy snacks like nacho cheeses, Cheetos puffs, chocolate chip cookies and others. Alcohol dehydrates your body instead of being hydrated and building muscles and burning fat. The more you drink alcohol the more you careless about what you are eating. “The risk is even higher if in those who drink heavily and are obese; the combined risk here is super additive.” said

78 million adults and 13 million children in America dealing with health and emotional problems because they can’t stop eating(“Understanding the American Obesity Epidemic”). This is why they are not too thin. I must say, it is with great sorrow that we see young children, of ages eight or eighteen, or even adults, of ages twenty five or sixty, struggling to even take a few steps, some accompanied by wheelchairs, some desperately having to stay at home due to immobility and some who are left to no use. These are the ones who become either successful and are able to lose weight, or become useless individuals.

Thank you for your time today. I am writing to you in hope that you will understand the issue and be motivated to make changes due to it. In the united states at least 678,000 deaths each year die due to poor diet, lack of nutrition, obesity and obesity rates have tripled in children. Children all learn what they know, and that includes knowledge on a proper diet, in school, so why are schools not helping enough in this matter? Why are schools hiding healthy eating habits behind bought pizzas and chips and other junk foods in the cafeteria? We, in the united states, are required to educate children in health at schools, through P.E. and health classes, and should not undermine their work by giving out the opposite of what we suggest. Many may say that this takes away freedom or is not that big of a problem, but do children really want to be obese or unhealthy? Do students want to die young from linked diseases such as Diabetes type 2 and cardiovascular diseases? No. They would still have food choices, but they would be able to have better options to choose, ones where facts and statistics do not cause fear in parents, but happiness.

Alcohol is considered a food as well as a liquid because it contains calories but these are considered empty calories because there is no positive use that the body can get out of it. Alcohol though is very different in the sense that it is not digested like other foods. Normal foods are processed and carried into cells and tissues to be used as energy. Alcohol on the other hand goes directly into the bloodstream. It is absorbed mostly through the small
