Poaching is an awful event to indulge yourself in, let me just get that off my chest. The reason why there are endangered species is because so many of us don’t feel like we’ve had enough, of one species. We have a disillusioned sense of mind, which leads us to believe that there is never enough, we always need more. In reality, in all reality, we are just wasteful. We waste food, we waste material, we are wasteful. We purge these animals, and so many to extinction. When we kill so many of the same animals, they become on the verge, or brink, of extinction. This raises the need for people’s wants, because we aren’t very patient either. Some of us, called poachers, kill these endangered animals, and sometimes for sport. This is wasteful, but also morally wrong. Think about elephants, they are hunted just for their tusks, rarely anything else. We read about siberian tigers and gorillas, who are going extinct because of poaching. We also read about blue and gold macaws, who are kept safe, do to the animal care, conservation, and research teams, in fear that they might go extinct for how intelligent and majestic they are. This is why zoo’s have a new purpose, to protect endangered and majestic creatures God has put on this earth, from extinction, and by giving them happy lives.
It intrigues me, if I may be honest, for how they find suitable and adequate mating partners, for siberian tigers. The Species Survival Plan, SSP, uses this computer program. This program matched the four year old Gaia, with fifteen year old Tatja. This program finds other siberian tigers, from locations in other zoos, and connects two suitable mates for them to repopulate. This couple right here had twins, named Danya, who is the boy, and his sister, Dasha. Tatja is kept out of the cage, because male tigers tend to hurt and even kill their children, for precautionary measures. However, the writer, Jacqueline Adams, and the zoo owners and staff, believe that Tatja wouldn’t harm his kids, but instead enjoys seeing them running around and playing. The zoo gave a suitable life for these tigers, with the mom teaching her kids how to sneak and pounce on prey if needed, and how to clean oneself. Sadly, Tatja and Gaia will be relocated, and so
Did you know that poaching has led to most animal extinctions this century? Poaching is a continuously growing problem that will cause many problems to the environment and people. Poaching can be defined as the illegal hunting of animals on land that is not the hunters own. Poaching does not only happen in unprotected lands such as the wilderness, but it has also happened in protected lands such as zoos. Animals may soon become extinct because of the high rate of killing the poachers are doing. If animals do become extinct, life would be very different. An example of how life would be different without animals, such as tigers, is talked about by Eugene Linden when he said, “the wild tigers of old will be gone forever, their glory surviving
According to the animal cruelty page on the ASPCA website in 2017, one animal is abused with every passing minute. This means that by the time I finish this speech, as many as seven animals will be the victim of undeserved cruelty. Based on these statistics, about 1,440 animals will suffer today.
Around the world, there is an abundance of animals that are becoming extinct or endangered due to poaching. Animals such as Rhinos, Turtles, Gorillas, and the Tigers are critically endangered due to vulnerability and have been jeopardized by human activities. Many countries have legalized poaching, but still this problem has increased significantly in the past decade. If the world does not stop this issue countless of animals will become extinct, and our older generation will never be able to see these exotic animals living in their natural habitat. Poaching is happening all around the world and will never be stopped until people are more educated about this crime and what is occurring from it.
Do animals have the right to a certain quality of life? How would your views change if our cooks got treated the same way cattle and poultry do? How would you feel about them being beaten and brought to their knees just to be detained to know how to cook todays specials? You might think that the food industry has no issues and no faults behind their tasty food, but when you open up the meat curtain, there is a different kind of world out there that is cruel and inhumane. In Robert Kenner’s 2008 film, Food, Inc., He shows the conditions that cows, chickens, and pigs have to live in. The dark and closeted homes in which the animals are closely compacted together and eating, sleeping, and walking in their own manure. As a person who would consider themselves an animal rights activist, most people would agree that the food industry treats their animals like products instead of living things.
“For some, hunting is a hobby for me it is a passion” by picgran. People should understand hunting because it's been in the world for over centuries. If you love to have your blood pumping with adrenaline you should hunt. Archaeologists have unearthed what could be the earliest evidence of ancient human ancestors hunting and scavenging meat. Animal bones and thousands of stone tools used by ancient hominins suggest that early human ancestors were butchering and scavenging animals at least 2 million years ago.
Attention Getter: Imagine living in a space about a third the size of this room. You also share this space with 3 other people. This is what animals deal with when living in zoos and aquariums.
Specific Purpose: I want to educate my audience on the various animal rights organizations and what they stand for.
For this persuasive speech, I needed to pick a topic that I was passionate about. I wanted to be able to persuade people to see my side on an issue that I truly cared about. I stumbled across a topic that I wrote a research paper on last semester, and I knew this was the topic that I needed to use in my speech: abolishing zoos. I asked a few questions to my classmates to gauge their support or dislike for zoos. I then took these results and figured out exactly who my target audience was, and what kind of speech I would be giving. The following analysis goes over the results from my survey and explains what these results mean in terms of my speech.
Think about how we will look back on our cruel forms of entertainment in the future. Will we be proud of the way we treated these great animals, with abuse as neglect? Today we turn our heads away from reality and what happens behind the scenes of animal entertainment. However, we can’t turn our heads forever. Around the world, there is so much more to animal entertainment than what meets the eye. These animals have been torn away from their beautiful, natural homes and brought to a prison of concrete. In these prisons, they are beaten, starved and tortured all for our money and entertainment. These animals lives should not be taken from them for us. Our money and happiness should not be worth these animal’s lives. Circus, theme park and zoo animals all suffer from aggression towards trainers, mental disabilities and physical injuries. These animals should not have to suffer any longer.
Poaching is killing an animal illegally, why would you go through so much trouble to kill species of animals. Poaching can ruin food chains because we killed an entire species, and on the other side the people sell the animal’s parts for weapons or narcotics. Poaching causes for animals to go extinct, and it is extremely illegal. Animal parts such as horns, tusks, and gallbladders are highly expensive which poachers are willing to trade weapons and drugs .
Although poaching is an illegal act, it is still a growing problem in the world because it is making the extinction of various animals more probable. Not only it cruel, but it affects the environment and ecosystem where these animals reside. Although various people, usually trophy hunters or those uninformed, argue that it isn’t that big of a problem, there are realities to it that won’t be stopped unless we act upon it and bring awareness of the situation.
Background Info: Zoos in American have changed a lot over the years, but they have not made the full transition to where they should be yet.
Thesis Statement: My purpose today is to inform you on the illegal poaching on elephants and the ivory trade.
INTRODUCTION Did you know that over 1,000 tigers have been hunted over the past ten years, just for their skins. Some people think that hunting tigers is just a hobby, or that their skin just looks so pretty as a sweater. Maybe trading their body parts for millions of dollars just feel good. I’m against that. I think that hunting tigers just isn’t right and that hunting tigers should be illegal and stop everywhere around the world.
Most of you probably have a pet of your own. Maybe a dog named Max or a cat named Oliver. Could you imagine seeing them in terrible pain? I honestly don't think there will be one student in this class that would volunteer to let their own pet be tortured for any reason. Am I wrong?
