Discussion of your research question—What is it, and why are you interested in it?
The use of audiobooks has increased all around the world, and I have always wondered what the reason(s) why. So I decided that my research question had to deal with the use of audiobooks and a contribution that came along with them. The question that I developed to do research on is, how do audiobooks contribute to kids with reading disabilities? The reason why I am interested in this question is because I have always wondered why audiobooks are so popular in the world. There must be some positive effects to them, due to the increase of use. Also because I would

"Assisted Reading with Digital Audiobooks for Students with Reading Disabilities." N.p., 2011. Web. 11 Oct. 2016.” The authors main claim in this article was to test out the efficacy of assisted reading with digital audiobooks with the traditional practice of sustained silent reading in terms of reading fluency and reading attitude with elementary students with reading disabilities. The author claimed that, “kids with reading disabilities that assisted reading with digital audiobooks had a greater increase in reading fluency compared to the kids that participated in the sustained silent reading.” The second source that I used was, Esteves, Kelli J. "Audiobooks for Struggling Readers: Using Audio-Assisted Reading in a Balanced Literacy Program." (2009). The authors claim that audio assisted reading with audiobooks are of good help and self- confidence to kids with reading disabilities. The author claims that “audiobooks and struggling readers also present findings from a study on the effects of audio-assisted reading with digital audiobooks for students with reading disabilities” in the …show more content…
Due to the data and information that is being presented in the article(s), made me come to the conclusion that I will not need to gather any primary research. Discussion of potential audiences.
I would say that this question is portrayed to target parents with children that have reading disabilities. Another potential audience would be a teacher, because it would be of great information for them to learn about the ways that they can contribute in helping kids with reading disabilities.
Discussion of potential purposes.
The reason why I am doing this research is because I want to know how audiobooks make a contribution to kids with reading disabilities. Many kids struggle with reading and it would be a good topic to search on, and if there is a strategy that can help kids with reading disabilities, why not advice people about this.

.The two brochures that I would introduce to the parents. The first one Why Read Aloud to Children. Second Why Some Read A lot and Some Very Little. Why read aloud to children, it develops their listening skills. When they listen they are thinking. It also develops their vocabulary skills, builds new words. Children mimic what they hear. Reading exposes children to stories that create imagination, and fresh ideas in their mind. Without these skills it hard for children to comprehend what’s going on. Gives them motivation and builds a great foundation for success in their lives. The more parents talk to their children and read to them, their vocabulary expands and language skills come into play. Second, Why some read a lot and some very little.
A person's overall reading capability can effortlessly be raised. Simply opening a book can aid it. Many
• While reading and studying, auditory learners are encouraged to read out loud to help process
Audiobook can be used in the classroom to proved a way for audio learns to learn better. We can listen to a book as a class and no one has to read allowed to the class. I personally listen to a lot of books at home and find that I can take notes easier.
Whether the task is understanding mathematical word problems, analyzing research articles in science, or summarizing instructions from a shop class manual, it is self-evident that learning cannot occur independently of reading. Furthermore, Trelease cites the 1983 Department of Education report, which reads, “The single most important activity for building the knowledge required for eventual success in reading is reading aloud to children,” (Trelease, The Read-Aloud Handbook, 2013, p. 1). From an evidentiary standpoint, this report draws credibility from a compilation of twenty five years’ worth of research projects and is given its authority because of its connection to the Board of Education. On the same token, Trelease introduces findings from another report, this time from doctors Hart and Risely at the University of Kansas. In short, their findings strongly correlated the volume of words heard at home to student success at school (Trelease, The Read-Aloud Handbook, 2013, p. 2). When the students heard fewer words at home, students were less successful; inversely, when students heard more words at home, students were more successful. In conclusion, Trelease’s ultimate supposition rests on these conclusions: literacy is extremely valuable in general education, while reading aloud is crucial to developing
Sharing The Journey provides support and information to parents of children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Of importance, this study showed that even a few hours of reading intervention goes a long way in helping at-risk children with retaining and improving their reading skills.
The research is expanding in the area of evidence-based reading interventions to include children who have intellectual disabilities. Phonological awareness is gaining support as a critical element in reading instruction as shown in student performances using targeted intervention measures that align to the student’s instructional level and to reading standards (Lemons, Mrachko, Kostewicz, & Paterra, 2012). Without explicit instruction in phonological
An associate degree in medical reimbursement and coding is an excellent way to work and grow in today’s healthcare industry. I know with training and certification, the possibilities can be endless in today’s workforce. The topics for my plan for success are training, responsibilities, advancement opportunities, and the statistics of what jobs are available in the work industry today. Everyone can agree with Obama care evolving and new coding regulations in effect this year, this is the time to consider a job in the coding field. Next, with any career, ones needs to learn research, and investigate all the necessary data to be successful. After graduation, I will have all the required information, credentials, and experience to
Subsequent to reflecting and inquiring about my behaviors on Reading, I now understand that building great reading habits does not need to be troublesome. An essential piece of building another propensity is staying consistent. Therefore, when I begin another habit, for example, reading, I discovered it ought to be easy to the point that you can't say no to it. Knowing this, I have set 3 objectives for myself to guarantee my reading behavior disappointments are a relic of past times. In the first place, I have to set a day by day time to read and keep a book or article helpful. Second, since I have access audiobooks, I can hear them out in the car or from my iPad in this way advancing my reading objective. Ultimately, making and environment that is helpful for reading will be useful, for example, limiting diversions and commotions, for
Reading has become a less populare past time. Before smart phones, my friends and I would talk about books, now our main topic of conversation is usually about the newest Grey’s Anatomy or Scandal episode.Technology runs our lives. This is illustrated in “Raising Smartphone Zombies”.It shows how kids and teens are addicted to their device and are troubled when it’s taken from them. Most kids will probably choose an episode of Scandal over reading, as a result they need to be reminded of all the great things that comes from reading.By reading we gain knowledge over simple things but it’s also proven that kids who read, have better spelling. It also reduces stress which can come in handy expecially if you go to Jasper. Even though I may not read
There are many benefits in reading aloud to children not only an enhancement of literary skills but also increase in the ability to communicate with teachers and parents. Children also develop memory skills, imagination and creativity (Family Literacy, 2002).
Swanson et al. (2011) conducted a meta-analysis, A Synthesis of Read-Aloud Interventions on Early Reading Outcomes Among Preschool Through Third Graders at Risk for Reading Difficulties, to determine which interventions were the most useful for preschoolers to third graders who were at risk for reading difficulties. Their research examined the effects of five read-aloud interventions, which included: dialogic reading, repeated reading, limited questioning, computer assisted, and extended vocabulary (pg. 261).
There is a huge opportunity in the education field, they can concentrate on schools and colleges. There are lakhs of schools in INDIA which are unware of this audiobooks. Now a days children are fascinated for easy learning. so They can increase their market share by providing audio books to those schools.
Welcome to the 21st century! Here we have cars that place phone calls, cell phones that find directions, and there’s an app for just about anything. These devices, often called e-readers, are common among those serious readers who want to keep up with the newest technology. Seventeen percent of Americans read an e-book in 2011, twenty-three percent in 2012, and twenty-eight percent in 2014. These numbers continue to increase every year, proving that electronic books are becoming the future of reading. Although some anti-Kindle people believe physical books are healthier than E-readers, people who have experienced E-readers argue that they offer more value than other reading devices. They provide convenience and
