After praying for a lengthy time, I began to feel revived and refreshed. The Lord had removed the burden from my heart and replaced it with a heart of peace. I walked over to my bed, and realized immediately, that I had not even made my bed this morning. I got everything cleaned up and put in order in my cabin. As I was finishing my cleaning, I heard a knock at the door. Up to this point, my door had been locked from the outside. I had no control over the lock, and now someone was knocking on the door waiting for me to give them an entrance. I went to the door, stood there for a brief moment, and prayed.
Prayer for Direction
Lord,
Would you have me give them entrance into this special cabin? I do not feel fear Lord; I

There are ways to re-arrange your schedule, but it requires sacrifice on your part.
Are you still trying to make excuses of why you can’t do what God has asked of you?
Prayer of Priorities
Lord Jesus,
I pray that You would come and meet each person right where they are, and meet me right where I am. Show us what we need to do to guard the sacred time with You. Give greater revelation of the importance of this time in the secret place with You. Release strategy so we know what You want from us. I pray for each one that we would be willing to sacrifice our time in this next season and out of that You would richly pour out to us the desires of our heart. I pray that You would have encounters with Your people. Let there be an open Heaven, so we can access what we need on earth to do what You have called us to do. I declare freedom in the minds of Your people to hear, to see, and feel You. Let us know You in Your entire magnificent splendor.
Amen
As I opened the door, I felt the wind rush into the room. It was like a tremendous zephyr that charged inside with incredible force. I felt the wind touch every part of my body in an instant. I had no control over it, after I opened the door; the wind was able to do what it wanted.
Scriptural Building Block
“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So
Religion is one of the most controversial issues in society today. The concern of allowing prayer in schools is an on-going debate and has resulted in numerous lawsuits. Religious school clubs, after school activities, curriculums, and moments of silence during school are just a few of the court cases that judges have administered. People in favor of prayer in schools believe that their children can only learn certain values through religious practice. On the other hand, an individual against religious practice in schools views this issue as an infringement on his or her children’s rights as Americans.
Evidence has linked a strong relationship between spirituality and medicine. There is a positive correlation between a patient’s spirituality or religious commitment and health outcomes. A spiritual assessment as a part of a health assessment is a practical step to incorporating patient’s spiritual needs into practice. The FICA Tool and HOPE Questions provide serve to assist clinicians in the spiritual assessment process. By examining the research done using these tools, it has been determined that the FICA Tool is easy to use and provides basic data on a patient’s spirituality. The FICA tool is both reliable and valid. The HOPE Questions are
I started to say hi, but suddenly my entire body felt like it was on fire. Arching my back, I tried to gulp air. I felt arms under my legs and he whispered "please." I fought to stay conscious, but the darkness grabbed me and dragged me
First, I would like to thank those reading this essay for taking the time to even consider me for Marian Catholic. I believe I have many gifts I can bring to the table for Marian. Many of these gifts fall in to the categories of prayer, study, community, and service.
Even though public schools today are without school prayer, most schools have replaced prayer, with a "Silent moment of reflection." Also, the assumption if there is a God or not is a big question as well. I think prayer should be re-instated into schools, because children should be able to express religion freely. I also feel that lack of discipline; youth pregnancy, dropouts, and violence in schools are other issues that can be more controllable if there were religious classes and school prayer.
Last night, I was lying in bed and it was after 11 pm and the Lord told me through my spirit to get up and cook Kim lunch for the next two days...and I was like Lord its late, and I can get up early in the morning to do it, but the Lord told me again in a strong voice to “Get Up” for I will not go to sleep until I cook... so I got my lazy butt up and cook Kim some shrimp alfredo with carrots and peas...and it took
The word “Christian” in Colorado Christian University is more than just a belief shared amongst the Faculty and Student Body. It is the foundation on which all aspects of the educational experience are built. Beginning with a strong Statement of Faith, which aligns with core beliefs of the National Association of Evangelicals, the University proclaims its belief “in the Bible as being the only authoritative Word of God, that God exists in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as well as belief in the salvation and resurrection that is only found in Christ Jesus” (Statement of Faith at Colorado Christian University, n.d.).
Having a strong foundation in the Lord I was able to run towards Him instead of
I was standing there crying and praising God, saying, “Yes” to everything He told me. After I had sat down, I began to wonder where I would go, and before the thought could leave my mind the Lord said,
It ripped through my chest like a beast trying to escape its cage. I finally felt it, God was in my heart. He had released all the displeasure, grief, and hopelessness I had felt for so many years and I knew from that moment, for the rest of my living and breathing life, I needed to show others who He was and what He could do. The feeling was indescribable and incomparable to anyone else, but I could see him moving through the other students’ lives around me that night. From the first gentle touch of his love, I vowed I would follow, respect, and live a life for Him always. Since then, my journey has been the most incredible and agonizing experience that I can describe. I have faced many difficult challenges and have hit the points of break
To properly label a Christian an evangelical Protestant, one must ask four basic questions and receive an answer that as a whole, evangelical Protestants accept as “correct”. The questions are: “[W]hat must a person do to be saved?[, W]here does religious authority lie?[, W]hat is the church?[,] and [W]hat is the essence of Christian living?” (“Evangelicalism”, Dictionary of Christianity in America) Through answering and receiving the “correct” responses, one should be able to define an evangelical Protestant.
In Andrew Hudgins’ poem, Praying Drunk, the speaker portrays the act of writing as something important, mysterious, and difficult when sober, and compares it to the act of praying, which, for him, is equally complicated. The entire poem is in the form of a prayer, which provides an insightful look at the motivations for faith, the pursuit of truth, and the struggle to come to terms with both. When these ideas are applied to the act of writing, they reveal the complex struggle that a writer faces in developing confidence in his own ideas, while maintaining a degree of credibility that will encourage an audience to care about what he has written.
“Every time I go to church, I thank God for my loving husband and my
Religion and prayer can benefit students in educational settings by positively contributing to better grades and behavior. Personal faith and prayer are important to people in many walks of life. Some individuals believe that this need for religious stimulation includes the youth in our school systems. There are different reasons why knowledge of religion and prayer can be important to students. For example, if students do not know about diverse faiths, it can be difficult for them to have a well-rounded knowledge and understanding of other cultures. There are oppositional sides to this issue as well. Some people believe that prayer in educational settings could be used as a way to persuade students into believing certain things that they
Christian Tradition course exposed me to the Christian Tradition based on Biblical and church history. The course taught me the differences and similarities of Christian Tradition from other major world religions. I learned about the significance of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Trinity based on the teachings of the Bible. The course also briefly covered 2,000 years of church history but with emphasis on the impact of the Council of Nicea, Council of Chalcedon, and John and Charles Wesley on Christianity. The professor emphasized the importance of the reformation that sparked a revolution in the church.
