From the research, pride can be defined in many ways. According to Amodeo, “We might believe that healthy self-worth means taking pride in our achievement.” Amodeo further states that pride is driven by poor self-worth and shame (Amodeo, 2015). This means that no matter the definitions of pride, there are too many that people came with their own definitions. One person can say that pride is their achievements while others say it's a sin. However, pride can be lost over time. The cause of losing school pride can be attributed to the lack of social interactions between teachers and their students. Social and emotional health is crucial for the wellness of the world. However, 1 in 5 school aged children has mental health problems, but fewer than 15% of those children get help. The result of unresolved emotional health problems includes peer relational problems, inability to concentrate, problems with work ethic and commitment and ultimately dropping out of school. Learning has strong social and emotional components, and thus should be seen as one interaction instead of separating the social and emotional components from the academic. This highlights that a person can be proud of so many aspects of in their live. When a person begins to be proud of their abilities, this creates an image of the person as supreme in comparison to others. Such an individual is usually so in love with themselves and pays less attention to others. Also, they begin to reject any advices from others, thinking that they are better than them. Even the slightest form of criticism would create ill feelings towards the person, who directed constructive criticism. A proud person never acknowledges their flaws and often tend to blame others. Unlike a confident person, a proud person is not humble. They are full of themselves that they begin to be blinded to their flaws. This kind of pride is very unhealthy especially for personal growth. Because they can think that their perfect and until they learn different. Confidence on the other hand is trust or else self-assurance. It does not rely on individual possesses on something or someone. When a person is confident of their abilities and skills, there is a high potential for the individual to achieve goals. Confidence gives an added assurance to the person to perform well. Confidence plays a vital role in the development and growth of an individual.

Caring is a critical element that supports both achievement and safety in a school climate (Good et al., 2016). Moos (1979) defined school climate as the “social atmosphere of a learning environment,” and he divides an environment into three categories: relationships, personal growth, and system maintenance (p. 42). According to Good et al. (2003), relationships are at the heart of a Connected School. Recess is sometimes students only opportunity of the day to socialize with other students (McNamara, Colley, & Franklin, 2017). Recess can help build a Connected School because it can create a caring environment through healthy relationships, yet it also has the power to undermine peer connections when there is limited supervision and a lack of consideration for student choice and diversity.
Overall, I feel that for the most part school help me in understanding my social identities. During my time in school I recall the various lesson and activities geared towards celebrating the diversity among the students. However, once I finished elementary school the social climate in my middle school and subsequently high school created an environment that affected several of my social identities. In elementary school, there were very few incidents amongst students being discriminated for their social identity. In contrast, during middle and high school I witnessed several situations where students bullied others on account of their social identities. This shows that, middle and high schools fail to maintain a healthy school culture for students
Now pride comes in various shapes and instance for everyone, but they can all have a common source. Some of the most common things you have a connection to are sports, work, people and possibly your sexual orientation. Though you have some many different possibilities or interconnecting occurrences within these topics, you will encounter. Some are more prideful in one instance than other, but it does not take away from any lesser situation either. With these only being a handful of prideful occurrences, as there are too many to name.
When children are put into educational facilities, they get a chance to connect and surround themselves with others of the same age group. Schools can also have significant influence on a person’s individuality as well as peer groups, which influence a student’s academic integrity greatly. A student will not perform well no matter what the case is, if there is negative influence from his peers and their school environment. They affect a person’s attitude, personality in a positive or negative manner.
Classroom management often called classroom discipline has been a priority for teachers. According to Evertson and Weinstein (2006), “classroom management has two purposes: It not only seeks to establish and sustain an orderly environment so students can engage in meaningful academic learning; it also aims to enhance student social and moral growth” (p 4). A study conducted by Weiner (2003) to understand why classroom management is such a problem in the urban schools, revealed that “so much in the school environment undercuts the social norm required for high academics functioning in urban classrooms, successful urban teachers must deeply embed classroom management in every aspect of classroom life, making the teaching of social skills a reflexive part of instruction” (p. 309). Arranging the physical environment of the classroom is one way to improve the learning environment and to prevent problem behaviours before they occur. Research on the classroom environment has shown that the physical arrangement can affect the behaviour of both students and teachers and that a well-structured classroom tends to improve student academic and behavioural outcomes (Walker, Colvin, & Ramsey, 1995; Savage, 1999).

Also, he found that those involved in a non-learning community actually faced more racial related incidents and abuse, which ultimately affected the way they performed (Saunders, 2008). Thus, using these findings from the article, one can conclude that microaggressions affects a persons well being to a degree that can affect them perform certain tasks. As the researcher found, students not part of a learning environment faced the abuse of microaggressions, which ultimately turns the individual away from learning in general. Thus, microaggressions will effect integral parts of ones life and influence them to negatively perform on major and minor tasks.
