This Topic is an interesting one because many throughout the country are divided on the topic of the Prime Minister and whether or not they hold too much power within their role. With past allegations of corruption, many are blinded by the true powers and limitations of what properly defines the role of our Prime Minister. Thesis: The purpose of this paper is to discuss the roles and responsibilities of the Prime Minister of Canada and evaluate his or her powers to identify whether or not these powers are limited in any way to fulfill the proper role of Prime Minister. The ability to choose and fill many of the roles within government allow him to pesuay certain individuals to toe the party line. These individuals know the probability of their role in the future depends on agreeing on the same issues as the Prime Minister and his government. While the powers may not be evident from the outside looking in, we can closely examine and identify the powers that he holds within our great nation. 3) Apointment of roles of department Staff: a) Cabinet- along with PM have most influence over bills and laws passed. b) Parliamentary Secretaries c) Prime Ministers Office (PMO) d) Privy Council Office e)Secretaries of State f) Ministers of State These individuals who comprise of these roles have a disginuished task on how the government of the day acts and carries out their power. The PM oversees this group and has a strong degree of power and decision of how they act. This Paper will fully demonstrate and justify the roles and responsibilities of our Prime Minister. We must continue to assess this role as our country continually changes on many fronts.
