REASON:
After watching the TV series ‘Suits’, we felt that we could relate to the organizational designs. Also, practically, we are currently studying the main topics such as culture, ethics, motivation, impact of organization hierarchy, leadership.
We can clearly see the human emotions and the internal hierarchy in the series. These emotions and practical demonstrations of work culture and ethics will help us learn better about the building blocks of a successfully running organization. We can analyze the facts and we already have some suggestions for the operation of the firm. Hence, we think this would be a

Once asked, Louis leaves everything and helps Harvey win the case. * Competency is the key to survive. * Paralegals and assistants are always ready to help. * Not everything essential is shared among the senior partners. E.g. Harvey did not tell Jessica the truth about Mike. She finds it out from an outside source and felt betrayed. * If Harvey/Louis think an associate did something wrong, they won’t listen to them. They should be friendlier. * Jessica doesn’t get involved with the associates at all except for the mock trials.
ETHICS
There is no organization and its people which has escaped the ethical dilemma. Same happened in the fictitious law firm – Pearson Specter. * Harvey Specter – the managing partner and backbone of the firm, had a gigantic responsibility on his shoulders to hire a highly competent law Harvard graduate and a mirror image of his own. During the interview process, he incidentally met Mike - highly competent and the reflection of his own. But the turning point was that Mike was not Harvard graduate nor was he Graduate. This led to a huge dilemma of recruiting Mike or not and also created an interminable circle of dilemma for other members of the organization. * Jessica Pearson had a dilemma whether to report the hiring of Mike to Law Bar and jeopardize Harvey and Mike’s future or And if she doesn’t report it to Law Bar and chances are that Law Bar comes to know about this and in that
When Gail is told of her daughter’s allegation, Gail is in disbelief and maintains that it is “an incredible, disgusting lie.” The younger sister, Beth, becomes angry at Amelia for disrupting the family. One of the most dramatic scenes is when Amelia, Gail, and Beth are at the dinner table. Gail begins to believe Amelia, and asks her “Why did you let it happen?”. Gail and Amelia break down and embrace each other. In another scene, Steven is shown in his hotel room, watching a Shirley Temple movie
Even though the Frank situation won’t be brought to attention, it will make the group look as if they worked together, professionally.
Since spending the night on Booker’s couch, he’d barely had a chance to utter two words to the enigmatic officer. But the note changed all that, Booker had asked him out on a date, and even though he had no idea what that actually entailed, his mind, body, and spirit were filled with a restless anticipation. He glanced up at the clock, his lip curling in annoyance when he registered the time. With less than an hour to finish his report, drive home, shower, and change, he doubted he would be ready by seven o’clock. His gaze returned to the typewriter, the Arrest Report mocking his conscience with its lack of completion. It would take him at least forty-five minutes to type up his statement in his usual, meticulous manner, leaving him a mere fifteen minutes to drive home. Not an impossible task, but only if he broke the law and drove above the speed limit. It was a Catch 22 situation, either way, his moral compass would be spinning on its axis. In a nutshell, if he wanted to make it home on time, he needed to compromise his ethics. He had a choice to make, forgo the report, or risk a speeding
Firstly, communication is key in every situation. Proper communication in this story could have prevented a lot of the negative issues that occurred.
Roth and Mike had an agreement to meet with each other once a week, but Mike didn’t follow through, Roth says “I told Mike to forget about the meetings unless he needed me for some reason; I would wait to see the final result”. (p.16) In this quote Roth is showing he cares about Mike, but if the student isn’t going to help himself there is nothing Roth can do. Roth continues to explain what goes on, and finally the festival arrived and it was time for Mike to show his project, Roth says “Mikes presentation was a disaster. Clearly he has not finished, and during his demonstration the instrument worked badly or not at all. Mike was embarrassed, I was embarrassed and Adrian and Steve were embarrassed for him”. (Roth p.16) This quote explains to the readers that Roth did believe in Mike, but Mike didn’t believe in himself there for him failed. Roth is an extremely logical person. He gets his point across through logic, Roth talks about how there is no permanent record.
The symptoms of the communication are they never empowered their employee. Every decision that employees made must be wait SMART has given its approval. That makes all the employees become lazy and satisfy with their personal situation. Kate even cannot contact with Jeff when she has a situation need to handle in. I think that Kate is very
Organizational architecture and corporate culture should be intertwined within any successful company or organization. In the text, Brickley (2009), refers to organizational architecture as being three legs of a company: assignments of decision rights, 2) methods of rewarding individuals, and 3) the structure of systems to evaluate the performance of both individuals and business units. Organizational architecture is the framework of company departments such as managerial chain of command, the duty description and

How would you describe the ethical dilemma confronted by the managers at the law firm?
Ethics are values and principles that individuals use to govern his decisions and activities. Ethics are about moral judgment of an individual about right and wrong. In an organization, code of ethics refers to set of guiding principles and organizations use these principles in their policies, programs, and decisions for business. Within organizations, decisions are taken by groups or individuals and these decisions are influenced by the culture of the company. Decision making and relevance of ethics may also differ for nonprofit and for profit organizations. In contemporary business environment, organizations must have a clear ethical policy and implement it in proper manner. There are many social, legal and economic outcomes that company has to face in case of any ethical dilemma, so there must be a smart strategy to deal with ethical dilemmas. In this paper, we will address the ethics for nonprofit and profits organizations, ethical dilemmas being faced or faced by each of these companies and the outcomes of these ethical dilemmas. Critique of actions of each of these companies will be provided from the point of view of applicable philosophical theories of organizational ethics.
For the Management section, it is apparent that Mike has internal employee issues, as the majority of the employee have been written up more than once and some as many as six times. Tim cannot allow the employees to ruin the coffee shops reputation.
There is a fine line between what is ethically right or wrong with an action committed by an organization. According to Audi, “sometimes ethics is compromised without dishonesty but by deficiencies in clarity or candor or both” (Audi, 2009). Being dishonest and not telling the entire truth are examples of ethical dilemmas.
But we’re not supposed to know any of this. Do not let on. If you let on, you may be let go” (Orozco 34). People that know about Amanda and her problem won’t even talk to her about it because they are not supposed to know and they can be fired. There are people working in this office that have some serious problems that no one is supposed to know
Several barriers stood in Lisa’s path of becoming a partner. One such barrier was the fact that even though her credentials, commendations, and work ethic were extremely high, she was never respected by the CEO, Michael Breyer, as someone who deserved to be on an executive level. His
Although Mary Ann did not want to waste time with this open communication process, she would have realized that Mike and Jeanine work better together when each subordinate individually feels useful and important. Mary Ann got the results out of Jeanine that she expected because she made her feel useful and important. If Mike was properly motivated and given
