Human cloning is the process that refers to the copying and replicating identical copies of humans using genetic engineering methods. Cloning can help and solve problems such as cloning in medicine, or to clone humans. We are going to look at the human cloning and its pros, cons, how is it done and the ethical issues of human cloning.
Human cloning can solve many problems just like treating heart cells, recovering loved ones means you can reproduce a deceased loved one, it also can cure diseases, spare organ parts which is that when you have the identical copy of you, you can use your copy as a spare organ parts where you can take the organs liked kidneys, heart, and mush more. (Fox, 12/30/2013) Human cloning is done within 5 steps. This

Some disadvantages is that when copying or cloning it would create health risks in having mutated genes, not knowing the results, serious impact on economy, over population and much more. Another advantages is that it can reproduce of infertile couples, defective genes could be eliminated, genetic modification and cure some diseases and disorders. In my opinion the use of human cloning should be prohibited and that is because the disadvantages of human cloning is more dangerous than its pros and because of the religious beliefs.( …show more content…
Many people believe that these clones will have the same appearances and personalities as the cloned individual. Others think that a clone is physically identical to the donor and her behaviour. However, these beliefs are wrong because the clones will have their own personality and life. Other than that living in an environment shapes a person’s ongoing behaviour and psychology. Other feels that it also leads to a loss of individuality, but as I said each person has his own personality even if cloned. (Department of Emergency Medicine,
Some people actually say that we can benefit from cloning. Scientists think that we can clone “geniuses” and advance in society (Utah Genetics). This brings up a very good point. What if we can clone 5 Albert Einsteins?! What if we clone all of the smartest minds to ever exist. Can we cure cancer? I think we can! Maybe we can even stop ebola. Lots of people are seriously thinking about this and how beneficial it would be. But some people can take this out of hand. Some scientists are considering making “human farms” where clones are made and their only purpose is to kill them and take their organs to sell. This is why cloning should not be easily accessible. Some freaky scientists are actually considering this idea. We need to be smarter, we need to be consistent , and we need to keep an eye out for these crazy scientists. And God knows what other crazy idea they have inside their heads. But many people think that cloning can be beneficial to society if it is used
There is also overpopulation. If cloning is widely done than that can lead to overpopulation of animals. If there is an overpopulation and animals that means that people may be driven from natural resources. Without natural resources we can't make more clones because all the other clones you made will be eating everything that the new clones are trying to make will need. if we clone humans then there is a great chance of those humans reproducing, then those children of the Clones will reproduce and there will be a larger population which will mean we will have to put laws on having children and on making clones. in conclusion clones are bad thing if we want to keep the Earth's resources and we don't want
Animals like mice have been successfully cloned and will more than likely facilitate the discovery for new treatments for human disease. Therefore by cloning animals like mice and then them getting a human disease scientist will be able to do test and research on the disease that the animal has and they can then try and find a cure for the disease and if it works on the animals it would work on humans. Also if you clone maybe 100 mice and they have different diseases you can find different cures for all of those diseases. Now my partner is going to talk about the cons on cloning and explain why the cons are
It seems to be as if cloning is the new topic society can not stop talking about. Some people do not know what it is or they confuse the difference between the different type of cloning. There are two types of cloning therapeutic and reproductive cloning and there is a big difference between the both. Reproductive cloning is cloning a whole new organism while therapeutic cloning focuses on cloning an organ such as a heart, a kidney, a liver, and so on. Cloning of a body part is extremely helpful and essential to the survival of the human race. Cloning body parts also known as therapeutic cloning is the key to live a longer happy life because this procedure creates vital organs that can help people from suffering, it prevents other diseases, and it is much safer than reproductive cloning.
people believe that it is too risky and unethical. Reproductive cloning has shown advantages and
According to Gary Wickman, Human cloning can give rise to certain medical issues. Technically, human gene grows older with age. It’s feared that the cloned individual would retain the age of the donor’s genes. Imagine what will happen if a 40 year old gene is manifested into a newborn baby (Wickman, 2017). The health risks involved with human cloning is something that cannot be sidelined on all accounts. There is a possibility that the cloned individual might carry certain abnormalities, and may die sooner than the standard life expectancy.
There are many good reasons to both develop cloning and incorporate it into modern medicine. Human cloning is extremely beneficial, but there are some downsides. Many of the problems are ethical in nature. Matthew Nisbet involved the public in his article. He polled the public on their opinions about human cloning and stem cell research. He found that “The public appears to have strong reservations about research that destroys embryos”
There are many arguments against cloning. Leon R. Kass bases his argument on repugnance in his article The Wisdom of Repugnance. He is a well-known physician, educator and scientist. Kass perceives cloning as offensive, grotesque revolting, repulsive and wrong. To establish his argument he states, “Most people recoil from the prospect of mass production or human being, with large clones of look-alikes, compromised in their individuality.”1 His rationale is cloning is unnatural, because it is asexual and requires only one parent. Kass believes that cloning turns natural procreation into a manufactured process, which is not natural or moral. In his essay he also points out that cloning will also change the way we see ourselves through our
Dear Andy Vidak, In the topic of Human Cloning, people carry many opinions on this subject. Scientists have been working to improve in science technology. Cloning was declared a massive step in science revolution. Many people believe cloning is wrong and against humanity. They feel as though it devalues humans and may cause segregation. For those who agree with human cloning, believe it can help by providing those in need or organs/limbs the exact copy they need. Human cloning does have its properties but also has its major defects.
The most helpful but controversial use of cloning. Therapeutic cloning could be used in a lot of good way. It could help create vital organs, it may be helpful for preventing diseases. There would be no need for organ donors and no surgery required for the second party. The other point of view is that some cells mutate and cause tumors in patients, it is painful to woman, and it is also very expensive. In the article “Arguments for and Against Creating Human Clones” it states that ”Human Cloning can provide genetically related children for people who cannot be helped by other fertility treatments.” In the article “All the Reasons to Clone Human Beings” it states that “ Human Cloning would allow two gay men to take 23 chromosomes from each and male and put them into a single egg to truly have a baby of their
Science today is developing at warp speed. We have the capability to do many things, which include the cloning of actual humans! First you may ask what a clone is? A clone is a group of cells or organisms, which are genetically identical, and have all been produced from the same original cell. There are three main types of cloning, two of which aim to produce live cloned offspring and one, which simply aims to produce stem cells and then human organs. These three are: reproductive cloning, embryo cloning and therapeutic cloning. The goal of therapeutic cloning is to produce a healthy copy of a sick person's tissue or organ for transplant, and the goal of both reproductive cloning and embryo cloning is to
One very beneficial thing about cloning is that it can be used for organ replacement which would not only minimize the waiting list for organs, but also there is a smaller risk of rejection from your body. Another is that it can be used to save an endangered species from dying out. Also something that would be incredibly useful is genetic research. If scientists were able to clone people easily and effectively, they would no longer need to use humans and they could solve genetic diseases. One thing that can be very risky with cloning is about 95% of animal cloning has ended in failure due to genetic defect. Clones are a lot more likely to get diseases and other various things like that. Also there would be a lack of uniqueness among clones and violate convictions regarding human individuality and freedom. Clones could be seen as less than human compared with non-clones. Other obvious risks are lack of diversity among clones and faster ageing causing them to die faster than a normal living thing would. Cloning is a process that we have to work on and is very tricky to work with but could be very helpful when done
Before the ethics of human cloning can be discussed, the mechanics of cloning must be understood first. Cloning is the process of making an exact genetic copy of an organism by a method called nuclear transplantation which is a process of removing a nucleus (the center of a cell which contains all of the biological information)
Many ethical and moral dilemmas arise when discussing human cloning, and one can have many positions for and against each. To understand the issues surrounding human cloning, one must have a basic
Scientific experimentation has led us to many great discoveries such as: Chemotherapy, heart surgery, and bone marrow transplants. Recently scientists have discovered a new way to heal humans. This is known as cloning. Although they have yet to clone a human they have cloned sheep. Cloning has brought up a huge controversy among the American people. There are two sides to the story. Either you agree with cloning or you don’t. The only way to help make that decision is to look at the good and bad points of cloning.
