Toxicity in the League October 27, 2009 was the release date for the current most popular and successful game in the history of video games. League of Legends, developed by the company, Riot Games. League of legends has 26 million players daily, and 67 million players monthly all around the world. Based on the hours played, there is a total of over one billion hours logged on per month. It is also the most competitive video game today as well. This part of the game is called the “laning phase”, it’s the phase to kill as much things as the player can to gain more gold. During this part of the game, if things go well and smoothly, it’s usually the most quiet part of the game. The jungle has a very important role in this phase of the game. The player’s job is to kill monsters in the jungle for levels since he does not have a lane and come into the lanes to help their teammate to win their lane. Occasionally, “good job” or “well done” is thrown around to encourage teammates to continue to do well. At worst, people may accuse players of stealing their valuable early-game kills. However, players will start to die eventually and end up “feeding” the enemy team gold. After a player dies it could lead to one of two things, either they wise up and buy vision wards or unleash their rage on every player. Usually the backlash is towards the enemy team demanding: “Stop camping me you douche”, or “Fuck off”. Each kill is worth three hundred goal and may give enemies an advantage. This leads to one of two things, either the “feeder” apologizes to the rest of the team and promise to do better, or the blame game starts. The player could start blaming the team for not helping
