Introduction: When I started college I knew that I wanted to study something that would give me the possibilities of traveling. So, I decided to pursue a major in International Business and Spanish for the Professions. These two majors will definitely give me an advantage in becoming a Foreign Officer.

There is no license or certification that I need to have to apply for this job, but there is an 8 – step process into being able to become a Foreign Officer for the United States. The process includes choosing a career track, which I will be choosing the Consular career track. The following steps include: registering for the FSOT test, take the FSOT, submit a personal narrative, take the oral assessment, and pass all clearances. After, getting to the 6th step my application will go through a suitability review panel and the 8th step would be to register, if offered the position. There aren’t any continuing education requirements, but when taking the FSOT test, it is very helpful that you speak one or more of the critical languages that they have on their site. The reason why this is helpful is because it will give you up to 3 points lead over everyone else, and this is where my Spanish degree will become useful. I currently am trying to teach myself Russian, because that is another critical language.

Since I joined in the Navy, my goal was to make Chief Petty Officer to consider my career a successful one. At one point in my career, I was in doubt to achieve that goal due to I was a Second Class Petty Officer for eight long years. Then, in my last attempt prior to my high year tenure, I finally made First Class Petty Officer. In August 5, 2015, I left work around 0400 in the morning, because I was working night check at the time. My wife and I tried to go to sleep, but we just continue talking about “the most famous phone call”.
I am auditioning to be an officer because I believe I can make Company a great experience for everyone on it and be a strong leader and representative of Cottonwood Dance. I think that having a strong leader is fundamental to the success of a group. My physics teacher, Ms. Richey, is someone I look up to as a leader; she makes class fun and engages us while still clearly getting the information across. She is also very confident in her abilities and will straight up shut you down (kindly) if you are trying to make up a physics scenario that is not possible. She is so intelligent yet fun that I aspire to be like her when I have to be a leader. I believe I am qualified to be an officer this year because I have had a couple of different

The career I am going to be pursuing is criminal justice. I am going to apply for the border patrol, an opportunity that one of my fellow law enforcement officials has pointed out to me. As far as my interest in the career, I have had an interest in becoming a police officer for a long time. This has been my career interest since I was eight, thanks to my cousin who is now a detective for Minnesota. My target goal is to one day become a detective for the Detroit or for the Federal Government. This career is not only the career that I have passion for but I feel myself exceeding in the field.
I'm Adela Lin and I'm a first year majoring in business economics and political science. I'm not completely sure about what I want to do professionally, but I'm interested in the international relations concentration of political science. I've always enjoyed history and international relations because I felt like they taught you a lot of about what shapes a nation's character, just because one country sees something one way doesn't mean that another doesn't interpret that event completely differently from their point of view. Learning about other people's cultures and perspectives is what really interests me and I really hope to have the opportunity to travel more as I grow up. I'm doing a study abroad in France this summer and I'm super excited

In life I’ve experienced the roller coaster of great success, and great failure. Freezing in the back of a car in early January. Kicked out of my home and nowhere to turn, this was by far the lowest point in my life. I vowed to never be there again. Therefore, a week later I was in a recruiting office for the united states army. Since then I’ve obtained the Professional goal of becoming a commissioned officer. My personal goals are as follows: Become educated, become well-spoken and to travel the world. I want to become a leader of men. It’s been that way ever since I was in high school. At the age of sixteen I was behind the scenes leader of stage crew, The state treasurer for Colorado Technology Student association. All while keeping up in my studies. I want to continue my studies to achieve my current goals.

A consular officer is one of the tracks you are able to choose while being a Foreign Service officer. This is because, not all diplomats do the exact same job. There are five tracks you can choose from when you become a Foreign Service officer. Those five are as follows: consular, economic, management, political, and public diplomacy. The one mentioned before, consular, combats fraud to protect our borders, can facilitate adoptions, help evacuate Americans, and fights human trafficking (Kopp, 2008). Political officers write reports for political events and communicate with foreign government officials to seek support for shared goals. Public Diplomacy officers network and connect with the full range of governments and host national societies to shape perceptions and the public message about the United
At UF I am majoring in Business Administration and I plan on specializing in International Studies. Additionally, I plan on applying for the Masters in International Business Program and spending a semester interning abroad. I am interested in a career working for an international organization or company. At first I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted for my future, but I soon learned how I could incorporate my love for traveling and experiencing other cultures with my interest in business administration and marketing. My interest for a career in the business field was greatly influenced by my father, who is a businessman himself.
Growing up being a diplomat has always been a career I wanted to pursue. When I was in elementary school my best friend’s father was diplomat for the State Department. He would constantly tell me stories of his travels from living in South Africa, Germany, and Thailand. I already loved traveling and I was so in love with this job because the career would be receiving a check for something I already love to do. However it is not only about the traveling this job has many benefits including being able to resolve world issues and help un-developed countries with their issues.
