I do feel that this incident could had been avoided had they planned for the possibility of things going wrong. However, it’s impossible to predict certain things because we have no control of them like in this case, but I feel that adequate training could have changed the outcome. This paper demonstrates how important it is for early education professionals to be involved in professional development. Professional development allows the educator to continue his or her education to provide the best and more updated learning experience to young students. In this paper, three professional developments opportunities offered by Indiana State University will be discussed as well as my personal reflections on the event.
